Well worth the visit. Great to see the displays and read the stories about the construction of the dam before visiting it. Definitely recommend making the stop. Nice cafe’s and restaurants around the museum as well. Free entrance through the hotel and ample free parking on the streets around the museum.

What a great little getaway. Boulder has a lot to offer in such a small town. Ride the train, see the museums, grab honey, and load up the car if antiquing is your thing. It ice cream or dine at any of the little restaurants in town. I only wish I had the appetite, I'd over indulge in all of them. Maybe, do like we did. Start with lunch, go see the dam or do some off-roading, and come back for dinner. Great little place about 40 min South East of the Las Vegas strip.

Small but FREE and very informative museum. It is worth checking it out and learning more about the construction of the Hoover Dam and Boulder city.

A free museum tucked into a historic hotel. Not far from Hoover Dam, this place is a must. While Hoover Dam only touched briefly on the lives and sacrifices of the people who made the achievement possible, this museum brings their lives to life in an [UNREDACTED] manner. Seriously, I felt the emotion of the dam and place through the experience this free museum created. Come here!

Museum is located in the real of the hotel. Self guided tour through the various displays. Great value since it is free. The museum is a nice side tour around this small city.

What a nice guy to do this for the community! Dinoman Steve was so welcoming and generous with his time! The "push for personalized tour" button on the garage is a bit sensitive, but what a great mistake I made! He came right out and spent plenty of time showing my boys around and teaching them lots about dinosaurs. He walked with us, talked about so many things, his love for children and teaching career really shines through. We've driven past this crazy looking house dozens of times over the years, but today we took the time to get out and look closer.

GREAT place to bring kids that like dinosaur's. Owner puts lots of effort into displays and enjoys having you stop by. Displays change monthly. This will become a stop every time we go to Henderson.

This was a stop on our Hoover Dam tour. Nice and quaint museum located in an historic building/hotel. Nice little art gallery included. You don't need that much time in the museum so, if you can, walk around the immediate area as well.

This is a fabulous free museum inside the hotel. Donations are optional. This museum is actually much better than the museum at the Hoover Dam. If you are in the area, this is definitely a must see. Kids and adults will enjoy the experience.

Beautiful cozy atmosphere. Museum tells you how important this dam means and how much this dam means to this world and society. They contribute us so much even till this date. Without this dam there wound not be any electricity or civilization like we have. There’s some art exhibition and all free. It makes you feel at home. You can visit this museum on the way to actual Hoover dam if you are on the way home in AZ from Vegas.

I have lived in this town for many years and have honestly never been. It is a must for BC folks or visitors. I love the film down at The Hoover Dam Lodge, but this one is on sooo much of the visual building and numbers. Wonderful. The interior info and authentic artifacts are very cool. Take young children from ages 4 and ⬆️⬆️. They will be entertained. It's FREE, by the way. We gave a monetary contribution at the end, to keep up the maintenance.

This is an awesome little museum tucked into the second floor, at the back of the Boulder City Hotel. If you’re intrigued with the story behind the Hoover Dam and the origins of it, you’ll find the real story presented in a way only local historians can. Everyone visiting the Hoover Dam should see this, but sadly, can tell from where it’s tucked away, not what most come to Boulder City to see. If you do visit, please consider a donation to help fund this museum for future generations to continue to see.

Museum about how they built Hoover Dam. How many people, how hot was it that summer and how they deal with it. The entrance is for free and close to Hoover dam.

When you think of Boulder City, the first thing that comes to mind is, of course, Hoover Dam. The 2nd is the Boulder City Museum and Historic Hotel. An absolute treasure and landmark that anchors the historic district of Boulder City. Free museum, a great restaurant, knowledgeable and friendly staff along with a lobby that whisks you back in time with its captivating and inviting layout. It's always a great place to relax between stops while touring this historic town.

After moving away 20 years ago and coming back to show our children where we grew up , my husband and I were so happy to see how well this hotel is being cared for. It was in very poor condition in the 90s. The mini Museum about the construction of the dam is a lot of fun. Definitely worth the stop if you are traveling from Las Vegas to see the dam

I wouldnt recommend. Front yard with dinosaurs was blocked off due to Covid. We basically just hung out at the garage decorated with Halloween stuff. Steve, tge host, is ok, but far from being some kind of guide. He could have at least moved the car and allowed more room in the garage for the 20 plus people in our group. That cant be called a "pre-historic park" in a million years.

  • 5/5 Matt H. 4 years ago on Google
Great place for kids of all ages to learn about dinosaurs! This is better suited to the younger set such as 10 & younger. Ideally 2-5 year olds.. the BEST time of the year to visit is October for DinoMan's Haunted Dino House. He offers candy and toys for every visit. No bathrooms. Street parking can get busy. DinoMan has a HEART OF GOLD for teaching and opening his home to your little ones.

The Santa was wearing his mask, table between him & us, as was his helper & Mrs. Claus. There were large Santa Stockings with candy inside. The children had a choice of 3 different candy cane items. The dinosaurs were decorated for the season. It was fun. The boys made their wish as always.

I've lived here 11 years and didn't know about this place. I went with my sister and her family and thought it was a really awesome experience. We gained a little dinosaur knowledge from the tour, guided by the wonderfully jovial host. Very happy to know a place like this exists. Definitely worth visiting, especially if you have grade school age children.

This was a really cool place to visit. A real nice look into the history of the Hoover Dam and Boulder City. Well worth a stop during a trip to the Hoover Dam. The old pictures and films are really neat to see and the museum provides perspective on an extraordinary human project that transformed the West!!

Stayed at the hotel, went to the museum for maybe an hour. Looked at every exhibit and watched the film. Then went to the dam. This museum was great and free, and had as much, if not more, info that the paid dam visitor center.

  • 5/5 jackie a. 1 year ago on Google
It is worth checking out if in town. One thing, it's free...yay...but it also great and you learn a lot of history about the dam. I love the hotel. It is like going back in time

  • 5/5 Boltyk 1 year ago on Google
Great place to immerse yourself in history. You can find a lot of physical items of the era and even a construction site copy where you can feel the surroundings. A little bit sad the concrete bucket operator challenge was out of order on our visit. So take a look - maybe you're lucky to try to land a concrete bucket in 78 seconds.

  • 5/5 TheBstiddy 1 year ago on Google
There are so many interesting things to see in here. We learned so much about the dam, it's creation, and the rich history of the area. Highly recommend a tour to anyone.

  • 5/5 Scott 1 year ago on Google
Very fascinating and interesting museum, the best part is that it is free! The museum showcases how the Hoover Dam was constructed, as well as the history of Boulder City and the surrounding area. We spent about 45 minutes here, but can spend longer depending on how much you read and watch. Check them out!!

  • 5/5 Clayton S. 1 year ago on Google
We have taken our kids (3 and 9) here 3 times over the last 2 years and they love it every time. They did a really nice job of designing this museum. We all learn something new every time we go. The part that I love the most is that it’s tucked away inside of the hotel, so it’s kind of a hidden gem with very few visitors, so it’s a nice quiet experience with the family.

WOW! I was not expecting this quality of a museum. I stopped in on a lazy rainy day after hearing about this place from the nv visitor center and I am so happy I did. It is such a nice little museum with a lot going for it. If you have the time I highly suggest visiting, it's free! I actually prefer this to the visitor center in the actual dam. It's a great first stop in Boulder city if you have the time .

  • 5/5 Kevin M. 5 months ago on Google
This place is free to enter and is located to the back part of the original hotel. The atmospherics are totally 50s in the hotel lobby. The museum is a fantastic layout there are soo many gems of information to discover from tared baseball caps to the living conditions it's all covered in joyfully absorbing detail. The exhibits have many touch, pull, flip items to ensure interaction from all ages. Plan to spend over an hour at least here. It may be free to enter but please consider a donation to keep the place in tip top condition.

Amazing little museum in a charming old hotel - we were absolutely not expecting the quality and level of information that we found! Do not miss if you’re coming through Boulder City. It’s well worth a good 30 min to browse through and learn more about the workers at the dam and the establishment of Boulder City.

I had the privilege of visiting this museum, and it left a lasting impression on me. The exhibits were both visually captivating and intellectually stimulating, providing a comprehensive look at a wide range of topics. The museum's dedication to education and storytelling was evident in the engaging displays and well-researched content. The staff's expertise and approachability made the visit all the more enjoyable, as they shared their insights and answered questions. This museum is a true treasure for those seeking to broaden their horizons and deepen their understanding of the world.
