I
visited
Southwest
Medical
Urgent
Care
on
a
Monday
morning
with
a
severe
pain
in
my
right
knee
severely
affecting
my
ability
to
walk.
I
was
seen
by
a
physician
assistant
instead
of
a
doctor.
A
medical
technician
attempted
to
draw
a
blood
sample
from
the
top
of
my
right
hand.
She
said
she
was
sorry
that
she
missed
the
vein.
She
then
successfully
drew
the
blood
from
a
vein
from
the
top
of
my
left
hand,
telling
me
that
if
she
missed
the
vein
this
time
that
she
would
get
another
technician
to
draw
blood.
As
she
was
leaving
the
patient
room,
she
told
another
technician
that
she
was
happy
that
she
only
"stuck
him
twice".
I
was
taken
in
a
wheel
chair
to
the
x-ray
room
and
slowly
transferred
to
the
table.
The
x-ray
technician
was
excellent
slowly
positioning
my
knee
in
severe
pain,
bent
at
different
positions,
to
take
5
x-ray
shots,
confirming
that
there
were
no
broken
bones
in
the
knee.
The
physician
assistant
diagnosed
the
problem
as
gout
in
my
right
knee
where
I
had
severe
pain
for
3
days
over
the
weekend.
He
prescribed
Prednisone
for
5
days
and
in
addition
told
me
to
take
Advil
every
day
for
pain.
The
technician,
who
transported
me
in
a
wheel
chair
to
my
truck,
was
very
friendly
and
courteous.
She
waited
until
I
stepped
up
onto
the
running
board
and
into
the
driver's
seat
of
my
Honda
Ridgeline.
Great
job
for
her.
I
immediately
called
my
son-in-law,
who
has
been
a
doctor/podiatrist
for
more
than
40
years,
and
told
him
about
the
gout
diagnosis.
He
said
that
he
has
been
successfully
treating
gout
for
his
entire
career.
He
also
lives
and
has
practiced
in
Las
Vegas
since
2003.
He
is
currently
and
has
been
on
the
Nevada
State
Podiatry
Board
for
several
years.
He
told
me
not
to
take
the
Prednisone
and
said
he
would
immediately
come
to
my
house
and
give
me
a
cortisone
shot
in
my
right
knee
to
cure
the
gout.
I
also
took
Advil
the
first
evening
immediately
after
the
shot.
My
pain
was
immediately
relieved
and
was
totally
gone
the
next
morning
allowing
me
to
freely
bend
my
knee
without
pain.
I
have
not
had
any
pain
in
that
knee
since
receiving
the
shot
after
the
first
two
hours
thanks
to
my
son-in-law.
I
am
surprised
that
the
physician
assistant
at
Urgent
Care
did
not
immediately
give
me
a
cortisone
shot
to
cure
this
problem.
I
have
previously
used
Urgent
Care
and
was
treated
by
doctors
at
this
location
with
good
results.
Adjacent
to
the
Urgent
Care
location
on
Grand
Montecito,
I
have
had
a
family
doctor
at
Southwest
Medical
at
this
location
since
2012
and
have
always
been
satisfied
with
the
service
provided.
This
visit
to
Urgent
Care
appears
to
be
the
exception
in
comparison
to
the
previous
service
that
they
have
provided
to
me.
