Perhaps the best place to see Kanchenjunga and other high altitude Himalayan peaks of Silk Route side considering the lesser distance from Siliguri. It's two hours drive from Siliguri. For the experience of orange orchard one should come in November-December. Best time to visit is also November December considering the chances of visibility of Kanchenjunga.

Amazing place surrounded by hills of tea gardens, a beautiful and pleasant tourist spot, the atmosphere is just awesome specially when clouds visit the hills it feels awesome. Every season has its own characteristics of the place, it looks clean in summer and rainy wheather, and it goes clouded in winter . But the shops are taking high prices for foods , tea and other items, and that's quite relevant as they are bringing the staffs from dar away . Best time to visit is at early morning as the day goes it gets crowded.

I've seen the pictures captured from the Ahaldara View Point where the 360-degree view of Kanchenjunga, Tista River, and Siliguri is clearly visible, but I visited this place twice and didn't see any of this due to dense fog. To reach the viewpoint you need to walk for about five hundred meters as the vehicle can't reach the top. A homestay (Ahaldara Chamling Homestay) is available at this place, where you stay to enjoy the ambiance for at least a whole day. Rooms and tents both are available, and you can choose as per your convenience. One of my friends stayed at this place and his experience is satisfactory. Finally, I would like to say, the views are entirely dependent on nature, and even if you can't get a clear vision due to cloud and fog, the overall experience will be fantastic.

Astounding view point. If you choose to spend a night over here you can contact Sunrise View Point Homestay. However if you have elderly people I'd suggest to re think as it has a steep road going up. Else, the view of Teesta with the mountain range is amazing.

A must visit place. Sunset & Sunrise views are breathtaking. Great place to spend quality time with your friends & family.

This is a very beautiful view point from the top of the hill. The sunset is the perfect time to visit this place . The sunset looks awesome and looks like a painting from this view point . If the sky is clear you can see every range of kanchenjungha.

Amazing Breathtaking View.10 min walk from Entry Point . Sittong is a very popular tourist destination, particularly in the late winter/early summer when it is called orange village because it's the season in which oranges grow there.

Amazing location!! It was much less crowded compared to other popular viewpoints. This place offers a 360° view of the mountains and the river. Really easy to reach and experience exceptional views. Highly recommended!

Beautiful scenic place but disheartened to see plastic packets scattered everywhere. If Sikkim can do away with it, then why we can't? Apart from enjoying the beautiful place, one can see Sinkona plantation here.

Ahaldara Viewpoint offers a mesmerizing 360-degree panorama of lush landscapes and distant hills. The sweeping vistas unveil a tapestry of tea gardens and pristine forests, creating a serene escape. The cool mountain breeze enhances the experience, making it a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts. The view is truly breathtaking, capturing the essence of Darjeeling's natural beauty. Ahaldara is a must-visit for those seeking tranquility amidst stunning scenery.

The most beautiful location in Sittong. The full range of Kanchenjunga and a large part of the Tista river is visible from here. Great location for taking tremendous photos. Absolutely loved it.

It is situated at Sittong. So beautiful viewpoint it is. You can see the sunrise, sunset from here. You can see the Kanchanjangha peak from here. You can reach here by private or rented vehicle or bike or scooty. Roads are in good condition. Some of home stay and food stalls are situated at the peak. Old people's can easily reach and feel the beauty of mountain, nature , river.

This is hands down the BEST place to visit in Sittong. You do have to tax your knees a bit to reach there. But the payoff is just great. The best time to visit is from end October to December, otherwise this is a completely different place when surrounded by fog. You will have a 360 degree bird's eye view of the valley from up here. It is an extremely picturesque location. There is a little shop which sells tea, coffee to maggi, momo. One can definitely give it a try.

360 Degrees like never seen before. We visited the Ahaldara view point on our trip to Sittong. Amidst cinchona plantations, the view point is amazing. There are some cottages also located near the view point.

Great experience to enjoy holidays in spirit and mood! The Cinchona plants and the 360°view point of Ahaldara are the special attraction of this prime tourist spot. Oranges during this time found nearby are sweet and delicious. One can have the view of tea plantation too, here.

Highest peak of this area, offering 360 degree view. Congested during peak season. Safe, few homestays, popular for photo shooting and making reels, small tea shrubs.....all are here.

  • 5/5 Sutirtha R. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome view from the top. 360 degree view. You have to walk / climb a bit distance from the gate to reach there. Climbing means not like rock climbing, but a high rise walkway, but in the end it is worth walking. A homestay is also there but my advice is not to stay there, because if you come down for anything you will think twice next time. After the sunset you can't even spend 5 minutes outside the room as a 🥶 freezing wind blowing all the time. It has a tea garden beside it.

Ahaldara is famous for its astonishing view of sunrise over Kanchenjunga peaks. On a bright and sunny day, Gangtok, Kalimpong... Nice beauty.

  • 5/5 Rituparna D. 2 years ago on Google
A 360° view of the mountain ranges which is beyond amazing. Kanchenjunga can be seen if the sky is clear. We were fortunate enough that to see the almighty range. A few homestay accommodations and tents are also placed there. Check out the pictures that I have posted. You surely will urge to get to the place right away. 😍

A view point from where you can enjoy the beauty of Kanchenjunga. The mountain peak amidst clouds gives one of the majestic view. It takes around 20-30mins drive from Shittong. There is an entry fee of Rs.50. Vehicles can reach upto a certain height after that one has to walk about 5min to reach the viewpoint. Also there are a few homestays near the viewpoint.

A very good place for a short trip in the mountains as you can reach in just 2-3hours from njp or siliguri station...and the place is offbeat and less discovered hence the food traffic is very less.

Beautiful place. No matter whether you come during clear weather or foggy weather. You will thoroughly enjoy the feeling.

Just out of the world. You would not believe what north Bengal has to offer unless you visit this place. My mind was blown apart by the shear beauty of this place. The hills, the valley and the rivers, what else to expect. Highly recommended . Note that there is an entry fee of 50 INR and with big vehicles you can go very close to this point, but for small cars you have to walk for 300 meters, not an easy task for faint hearted.

  • 5/5 Madhurima B. 2 years ago on Google
You can visit Kanchanjangha Hills from here. Full clear view.

  • 5/5 Himansu C. 2 years ago on Google
A beautiful sxenic and picturusque place offering 360 degree view of surrounding mountains range and the Riyang river about 4 Kilometers from Sittong 3.

  • 5/5 Athar H. 2 years ago on Google
This is one of the great sunrise point in this area. On the Eastern side you have Tista basin. On Northern side you have beautiful snow peaks of Kangchenjunga range. But don't consider this as Sunset point.

It's a beautiful place. And an ideal place to spend few nights with friends and partner!! If you love nature and peace then this place won't disappoint you I guarantee! The place has homstays and camping options.. Network is pretty strong that has become a mandatory thing for us😂but I would suggest put your phones aside and enjoy with your folks!. Sitong is a lovely place with natural beauty. Ps Please try not to throw trash and be a response tourist. There are many tourists I have seen who carelessly throw trash making a place garbage. Ensuring sustainable tourism is our responsibility as well. 이 곳은 아름다운 곳이에요. ...
