Lacupite Arboretum was established in 1959 by Igors Mednis, who discovered that because of the mild climate of the area, many types of plans that cannot survive elsewhere in Latvia, can grow here. The beginning of summer turns this place into a rhododendron paradise.

A very informal rhododendron park founded by freelance Igors Mednis. A "must walk" path when traveling along seashore between Apsuciems and Klapkalnciems.

If you want a scenic walk along the coast of the Gulf of Riga, this is one of the best places to do it. The woodland contains a variety of non-native species of plants that are rare to find elsewhere in Latvia.
