Mangalsala and its pier are popular places for walking. Its unique seashore and harbor landscapes make it attractive. Here, you can observe some good evidence of history. Personally, I like the walking experience till the lighthouse after getting off from public transport. It's really peaceful sitting here and enjoying the beauty of nature. It was an amazing place to visit. But it's a bit far from Riga Center.

A beautiful place where the river meets the Baltic sea. On the right of the pier there is a nice sandy beach with really calm but not too warm water. At the end of the pier there is a small lighthouse. All the ships to and from Riga pass through this place. To get here take bus 24 (around 55 minutes from the city center) and walk about 30 minutes from the bus stop to the pier

A great place for a walk, to be at one with yourself and your thoughts. The two are also a great place to relax and have a fresh breeze. Everyone in this place will find their own. From the opportunity to feel sad, to the charge of cheerfulness and the spirit of honor.

If you like the sunset and peaceful places then this place is best for you. And even if you like jungle trekking, this place is good. And there is a good walkway too. And there is also a good walkway and there is a nice sitting place to watch the sunset.

Nice place for walking and seeing view. It was great experience to be here and see the place, where Douglava meets the sea. Much more quiet than in the city. You can go there with kids but be carefull. The black stones are really slippy and you can fall to the water easily. The beach there is awesome as well and maybe more safety. But the red lighthouse is pretty nice to see closely.

Mangalsala breakwater is located almost 15 minutes walk from Mangalsala National Park. No waiting time nor tickets required as it is open beach. Sunset is fantastic and nostalgic

It was chilly, but the sun came out peeping for a short while just to prove it's around also in 2024 and long enough to be captured on a video and a picture. The pier was covered in ice and was rather tricky to walk on so we skipped it this time. We were so surprised there were literally dozens of folks taking a-1-Jan-walk here - with kids, dogs and without, young and old, fit and chubby - snapshot hunters, romantics, joggers and us. Water level was the highest ever of what I had seen so far here. The water was however rather calm and nearly now wind was present. Always worth visiting ❤️

Very beautiful, especially in winter when most of the pier is frozen. Better wear waterproof clothes, as the spray from the waves instantly freezes.

Nice place for a walk. However be wary with strong wind.

Great place with scenic views for walks in a any weather conditions. Just dress for the weather it can get windy. It's about 30 min - 1h drive from city center depending on what transport you take. Parking lot is not next to breakwater, it's about 10-15 minute walk. If you are taking a bus (Bus number 24.) it's about 25 min walk. Near the road to breakwater and in the near by woods there are a lot of old ruins of military buildings and bunkers hidden around, you can google about the region and get a little history lesson it will be a good conversation topic while you walk to the sea.

Great walk, it took us about 2h from the closest bus stop and back. We came from Riga, about and hour long trip.

Excellent for evening walk. Warning that it will be full of cars in good weather. First people started to come back once the sun had disappeared behind the horizon.

Cool place to watch ships sail away. Walk to the lighthouse is quite long. Also pretty packed and you might have problems parking your car .
