The hotel as a building is fabulous. Great interior, nice spa and good location. Unfortunately, when it comes to the staff, this hotel does not even come close to 5 stars. They NEVER smile at you or greet you nicely when entering the hotel, the staff at the breakfast tells you to put on your face masks while walking while other guests clearly do not wear them and nobody says anything. We felt like the only “stupid ones” wearing it. Also, when calling reception, it takes about 4 calls at least to reach someone and the housekeeping staff doesn’t know how a “hello” works either even when I’m always smiling at them and greeting them. The only great experience when it comes to staff was the lady who checked us in. (Tuesday night.) she was fabulous and very kind! Credits to her and the rest of the hotel staff should get trained by her! When I book a 5 star hotel, I expect friendly and attentive staff.

I'm happy to share my positive experience using the conference hall named Epic at the Grand Poet Hotel. Our company has used their facilities twice for our business needs and has consistently lived up to our expectations. Their excellent catering services provide various coffee break options and a nice selection of wines and cocktails that suit all tastes. The tech equipment is top-notch for online and offline meetings, and their staff is helpful and professional. One of the charming features of this hotel is its lovely indoor garden. It's an excellent spot for coffee breaks, especially in the summer. Overall, I'd highly recommend the Grand Poet Hotel for conferences. They have great service and facilities.

Stayed for 3 nights over New Year and were generally pleased with the hotel. The positive aspects were our fantastic room, the incredibly helpful and attentive staff, great breakfast (including the room service breakfast which was well worth the tray charge!) and that the hotel is in a good location with a quick walk through the park into Old Town. Unfortunately the spa is very small and was overflowing with people both times we visited. It was the opposite of relaxing, with many young children in the pool and jacuzzi, only 3 lounger beds and not enough space to hang towels or robes. The lady managing the spa was doing a great job cleaning up and handling the reception given how busy it was, but realistically there should be a limit of no more than 15-20 people at any one time to ensure a good experience.

We had 4 nights at this hotel and we really liked it. Big rooms, beautiful bathroom and breakfast was included. The only reason for a 4 star for the room was that the bed was pretty hard. At least to our likings. A short walk to the old center of Riga makes this a perfect place to be.

We stayed in a superior room for three nights, it was a nice comfortable stay given that there was not much to do in Riga due to Covid restrictions. I had emailed that it was my cousin’s birthday and on the day they left us a bottle of Prosecco in the room which was a lovely touch. We really enjoyed the spa area - good sized pool, two saunas, a steam room and a jacuzzi. Service was good and friendly overall. Just a suggestion….the breakfast could have been better and hotter. Sausages were more like hotdogs and the eggs were not freshly made. Also more English language channels on the TV would have been nice too. Apart from that it was great :)

The hotel itself is lovely and a great location, nestled between the old town and the art noveau area. The spa is great and rooms decent size/clean/have everything you need. However, there is no room service after 10pm (seems very odd for a 4/5star hotel) and the staff are cold - the concierge was rude, as was one of the female staff in the restaurant which really soured our stay.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. Spa is a bit old, small and overcrowded with people. They don’t have lockers and dressing rooms, so you have to put on swimsuit and robe in your room and then walk like that through the hotel. 😅 Our room was ready only at 15:30 although check-in is from 14:00. They gave us free drink coupons while we wait. The room itself was okay, I saw a dust on cabinets. Pillows were very comfortable for sleeping. Out of two radiators, only one was warm. Breakfast has large selection of foods and drinks. Overall, I wouldn’t give this hotel 5 stars.

Great location and near the park, freedom monument, old town etc touristy area. Walkable distance to most of the attractions and you dont need to do do taxi. Friendly staff. Great new rooms. Awesome buffet breakfast. Highly recommended hotel. Glad I chose this place. Definitely stay here for future travels to Riga.

Really nice 5-star hotel in the centre of Riga. Service was really nice - when we arrived there was some misunderstanding and receptionist told me that I have paid only for 1 people even though I booked for 2. As it was not my fault they did not ask extra charge from me. Hotel rooms are very clean and cozy. Beds and pillows are comfortable, rooms are quiet and qurtains are thick so room is dark at night. Most rooms have bath. When booking directly they give you bottle of sparkling wine for free. Breakfast is delicious, very wide variety of dishes and lots of sweet pastries. Not many alternatives for gluten/lactose intolerant people though. Sparkling wine provided at breakfast as well. Also very nice terrace for eating. Hotel has also small hedonic spa which is really nice and quiet and clean. They also give you flip flops for using sauna area.

Had a lovely stay in the Grand Poet for two nights. The breakfast buffet was amazing with large selection of foods. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the spa was really nice as well. All in all would recommend for a relaxing vacation in the heart of the old city of Riga!

My friend and I found this hotel online when looking for a spa hotel in Riga in December within suitable walking distance to the old town. I’m so glad I found this one! We booked on their website. We were able to book massage appointments the Friday evening about 5pm. We arrived by taxi from the airport at about 1:30, and our room was immediately ready, which was a nice surprise because usually you need to wait until about 3pm. Another nice surprise was the free fizzy wine that arrived soon after we got to the room. We decided that it was too late in the day to venture out so we decided to book a table in the SNOB restaurant. We used the spa, had our massages, got ready for dinner and ate an amazing meal. The rest of our stay was just as great. It was so nice to defrost in the sauna after exploring the old town in the -6 snow. Our last day we were so tired that we ordered room service, which was great. The city is so pretty. Everyone was so friendly too. I will definitely be back with my husband soon. Thank you!

We stayed at the hotel with our 1-year old and were welcomed by the friendly staff. The Grand Suite was spacious and clean. The pillows and duvets could have been better and the towels a bit thicker, but it was minor things. All of the staff was extremely helpful and accepting of bribing a small child. The hotel is located within walking distance distance of most of the city’s landmarks, restaurants and parks. The restaurant was - as often is the case at hotels - a bit bland, but nicely decorated and clean with friendly staff. The menu a bit boring but everybody could find something they eat. The spa, although small, was well equipped and contemporary designed.

Just spent a really relaxing 3 nights here. The building is extremely nice, clean and well located. The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Location couldn't have been better, walking distance to all the main areas and right next to a really nice park. The restaurant was really good too, and not too badly priced. It was actually one of the cheaper meals we had and it was delicious.

My friend and I stayed here for a 3 night trip. What a beautiful hotel!! Ideally located just a short stroll from the old Town overlooking the park! The room was immaculately clean with a beautiful bathroom and decorated in a lovely art deco design. The spa was fabulous and we had a great 90 minute winter warmer!! Staff were so friendly and helpful- nothing too much trouble! Highly recommend!!

Everything was absolutely perfect! We celebrated our Wedding anniversary and we can not think of a better place to have a high quality romantic time with all our wishes fulfilled! The artistic design of this hotel spa and the high level of comfort, plus amazing staff and location, makes the stay at this hotel an unforgettable experience! P.s. The breakfast was the best we have ever had in any hotel!!

My choice number one among Riga hotels. Brand new (opened just prior the Covid so was staying empty for a while) with freshly decorated rooms and good spa. In-house restaurant is also good, though you have a decent choice of restaurants and bars within 5-10 min walking distance. Friendly staff. Good breakfast and reasonable price policy.

Enjoyed a 5 day stay at this lovely hotel. The staff there was so helpful and friendly, breakfast was delicious with much to choose from, rooms were very nice and the location is terrific. The relaxing wellness center and well equipped fitness were a big bonus! Great experience!

My stay was some time ago now. Nevertheless, I still have very fond memories of my holiday in Riga. The hotel was wonderful. The room with the bay window in which we stayed was a dream. Great facilities and super clean. Also the breakfast was great and we really enjoyed the time in the Spa. I would also like to emphasise the service. The ladies and gentlemen at reception were courteous, polite and dedicated. From my perspective the best choice to stay in Riga!

Absolutely loved my stay at the hotel. Conveniently located close to old town of Riga. The room was very spacious and quiet. Breakfast had plenty of options, ranging from sweet to savoury. We also went to the Spa. It’s not too big but has a pool, gym, jacuzzi, steam bath and several saunas. The decor of the hotel is very tasteful and elegant. Can’t wait for my next visit.

Really enjoyed my stay there. We even got a complimentary sparkling wine. Loved the SPA, it's on the small side but cousy. Breakfast was good but bit chaotic as there is no cuing system set in place so depending how the server decides to serve you you can wait quite a while. Other than that no complaints.

What an absolute gem in Riga. This hotel not only exudes class and elegance but also their facilities, location and value is according to bigger luxury hotel chains. We upgraded the room for park view and did not disappoint. The room and bathroom were spacious. Their tub was huge. Wifi was excellent. Bath robes were good size unlike other places, these bathrobes fitted up to XL comfortably. This is very important because if you have to go to their Spa, you are well covered. By the way their spa was fantastic. You need to pre-book time at the reception but I think that’s ok to make sure is not crowded. The pool was not exactly warm but since you come from the saunas, I think it was good temperature. I couldn’t try their massage or other but my friend did and she was pleased. I tried to book but they couldn’t find a time in the short visit I had, sadly. And their breakfast was honestly the best. Lots of options, a lot of local style pastries, on Sunday a station for the eggs as well. Really nice. Although I didn’t feel the breakfast staff was as nice as the other employees, the tables were cleaned promptly and it was fine in general. The hotel is close to the Freedom monument and walking distance to practically every nice spot. One my observation was that there was no decor in end of November while most places are already into the holiday decor, kind of weird. Will definitely visit again.

Luxury hotel with spa facilities. The staff here were all very friendly and the service was impeccable. Great spa facilities with steam, sauna, jacuzzi and gym. You have to book the spa so it's not overwhelmed with people. The rooms are elegant and the bath tub was huge, overall a very nice hotel. Minor downsides for me were the breakfast buffet did lack a selection of bread and the sound insulation in the room was lacking.

Absolutely lovely hotel. It is located next to a quiet park very in the city centre. The room was fantastic as were all the facilities. The spa was brilliant too. The staff were exceptionally professional and we need to make a special mention to the two evening managers who were helpful, informative and made time to make recommendations for restaurants and bars. They were absolute stars.

I get it, it's no 4 Seasons, but it failed to achieve what a basic 5 star hotel should be. We arrived tired from a >24 hour flight and the bar and restaurant were closed at 11pm on a SATURDAY. We didn't have help to get our luggages when they knew each floor had steps. Rooms were large and bathroom beautiful with heated floors, which I appreciated. Upon checking out, a kid sitting down in what I thought was in a concierge desk asked to come to him to setttle the bill- no one was standing at reception. And no one was particularly ready to be helpful. I had to wait in line at reception to ask a simple question, only to find out the girl at what I thought was concierge sitting down was perfectly capable of answering and only when I asked for help did she look up.

Excellent hotel, cozy rooms with a very high ceiling offering a lot of air. Bathroom is super clean, amenities included. Main room floor has carpet which is clean but not as hygienic as tiles or wood would be. Slippers are included. There’s ample space for hanging clothes. Air conditioning is very silent and doesn’t disturb you. Windows can be opened. The spa area is excellent as well. A little bit noisy so you’d better relax in your room. Gym is very well equipped. When you book through their website (which ultimately is the same price as through booking platforms) you get a free bottle of sparkling wine.

It seems that this is one of the best 5* hotels in Riga. Not so bad, good location, interesting interior. Good choice for breakfast. A visit to the SPA area is included for all hotels. The SPA area is small but nice, there is a pool, jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, aroma, sonarium, steam bath. Would recommend to book a higher class room for a better view and more light, as we stayed in a standard room facing the courtyard wall, a better view would give a better feeling.

We had great time at Grand Poet hotel! Spa level is pretty high, food is fresh and healthy and big variety. Drinks: tea, coffee, juices and champagne! Room and bathroom are clean, no claims. Perfect begging of the day!!! I advise :-)

Came here for a weekend away with the wife and I can honestly say it's one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. We loved it so much we decided to book it again for our last few days in Riga. The rooms are opulent, the breakfast was brilliant and delicious and the staff were all so helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.... this was a fantastic experience

Room looked modern and had good size. Bottle of prosecco when booking directly was nice touch. Breakfast had sufficient choice and friendly staff. We visited SPA quite late in the evening, wasn't too crowded and the pool is big enough to swim a bit. Pity that they didn't have an inviting lobby bar. Location quite good, close to the old town with some pubs nearby. Parking in nearby underground parking lot was 12 euros per day but they only spoke russian there.

I was about to give it 5 out of 5 but they do not refill the shampoo/shower gel/body lotion (which I think is a requirement to get full) so 4/5

We have had a fantastic 3 night stay here. It is in a central location over the park from old town. Rooms are Beautiful. Breakfast is nice with a great selection incl champagne. Reception staff are lovely and very helpful. Special mention for peter at reception, he was so lovely and helpful. Everyday he always had a smile on his face. Made us laugh a lot. Great asset to the hotel. Thanks for making our stay so good. Love Maria Duncan

Impeccable service, very comfortable room, attention to detail, great breakfast AND above all, the team taking care of the guests is the biggest asset in this beautiful hotel. I much enjoyed relaxing at the Spa and the location is perfect. I will for sure stay in this hotel in my next stay in Riga.

Beautiful hotel, in a good area, not to far for the old city. Wide variety of breakfast. Luck of kindness and some tremblings into our room.

I had a nice stay in this hotel, had booked a standard double room, room was very cozy. My room was facing the side street, it was very quiet, room facilities were good, the bath tub was big, toilet was spacious & clean. Bed was comfortable, couldn’t fault a thing. The highlight of this hotel is the spa and sauna, it was just wonderful to have a spa and sauna after a long day especially in winter months, staffs are friendly they all speak very good English, they provide slippers, gown and towel in the spa which is very impressed, location is very central, breakfast is good, I can’t fault a thing and would recommend this hotel.

Spacious room, clean and excellent breakfast buffet. Sound goes through between rooms. We checked out early morning. A colleague who checked out right after me got offered to receive packed breakfast but me and the other colleague didn’t even though we were in the same checkout space and it didn’t feel nice.

Lovely hotel with spacious rooms, friendly staff and a terrific location across from old Riga. Also had a wonderful spa treatment that could rival the best I’ve had anywhere. Would happily stay here again if in the area.

Great five star spa hotel. Spacious room but the beds are a bit hard. good breakfast. Friendly staff. But don't come here if you plan a relaxing spa weekend. We went there and there were 10 children aged 3 to 10 years old running around making It Impossible to relax and enjoy the place. Too noisy, to crowded. 5 children and one parent jumps Into the small jacuzzi after us.... We just had to leave the whole spa. Being a five star spa hotel that's quite pricy for Riga, one would expect the spa experience to be good. A lower age limit for instance. If parents wants to go swimming with their children, a swimming hall would a great idea. Not a spa hotel with saunas, relaxing areas etc. Hence three stars.

Large luxurious hotel in an historic building at the brink of Riga‘s old town district. The famous art nouveau district is also just a short stroll away. Our room on the 3rd floor was conveniently large and stylish. Apart from a large and very comfortable double bed, we had a sitting area and proper working desk, and an en-suite bathroom with high quality toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion). Breakfast is served in the basement and comes with a huge buffet with cold and hot breakfast dishes - hard to make a choice, there is really a lot on offer. In summer, there are also tables in the quiet courtyard. Be prepared for the breakfast area to be busy, especially during the week when the hotel is not just frequented by tourists, but also by business travelers. Staff is very friendly and professionell. We made use of valet parking and were pleasantly surprised that a bottle of water had been put in one of the drink holders, free of charge, of course. A nice little touch! Overall a very convenient hotel for both tourists and business travelers offering upscale accommodation in a quiet yet central location.

Gorgeous grand hotel within walking distance of shops and bars of old town Riga. Staff were pleasant and really helpful. Clean and quiet, spacious rooms with the most comfortable beds and amazing bathroom/shower. We used the Spa, pool/jacuzzi/ steam room and sauna which was fabulous and easy to book. Highly recommend the breakfast, lots of choice and an abundance of all food. The staff were continuously clearing tables so it always felt spotless. We used room service twice and the food was so delicious and delivered promptly. Drinks were reasonably priced at the hotel bar. All in all a highly recommended luxurious feeling hotel. Would definitely stay there again.
