It is my allegation that The employees are rude beyond measure especially a light skinned chick. Plus they got so complacent a line will be there like over 8 people and they were joking and talking for several minutes. When I ask the light skin thick girl was very loud, obnoxious and rude. They need fresh employees. The cooks and Haitian lady is professional all others terrible for the business. The food is excellent, the service is garbage and its the same group of very rude jamaican girls. The thick light skin girl up the prices if you complain and changes prices based on who she's serving which is illegal and discriminatory. The hygiene is terrible beyond measure. I saw roaches and the employee just slap it with a napkin went back to regular scheduling while wiping her hand on her jeans. Under the counters and several areas is dirty af. Not a clean establishment. They price gauge me and may padding your bill. The health department vehicle comes there more than customers. They say the most delicious food is often from dirty areas. The fried fish is tasty, the chicken paws are delicious the rest is plastic and taste like overnight meals. The carls on university is very clean, more professional, better food, better employees.

Let me start by saying this place is disgusting. From the minute you walk in there’s a HUGE rusted out hole in the ceiling big enough for anything to fit in. Especially rats and roaches. While we were there, it happened to be raining outside, it was literally raining in the cooking area…. RAINING IN THE COOKING AREA. They’re mopping up water while food is being cooked. Bro… what…. THEN The woman at the counter barely spoke and had a really nasty attitude. When asked for steamed veggies she acted like she had to go make it herself. A customer behind me was laughing on their own private phone call and that bothered her so badly that she stopped sharing out food to give him dirty looks. What the —? I don’t know how the health department or the better business bureau hasn’t shut this place down. The food was so disgusting sitting out all day and you can tell. Cow foot was 90% bone…. I was also sick to my stomach the next day. I don’t know who you guys are getting to leave these 5 star reviews but please stop lying to people. One foot in this place and your whole stomach is gonna turn upside down. It’s so badly kept. It’s filthy, Coming apart, and the customer service is GARBAGE. There’s way better Jamaican restaurants. This place does not do our people justice. You know our mothers and grandmothers taught us better than to be dirty, especially in the kitchen.

Food is awesome and very homed cooked. Food for the soul just to say. What I love about this place is that they give you so much food at a great price during lunch special. So much, I can eat some now, get full and still have enough for later. Thanks Carl seafood

So I ordered from this place tonight. I received my food via delivery. I was very disappointed. I was happy I somewhere that was open late, but it didn't meet expectations especially with there being so many Jamaican restaurants around. I got the oxtail which was 17.99 and I don't mind the price if I got good food, but unfortunately the oxtail was beyond bland, no flavor whatsoever, I had to add seasonings to it. I asked for rice and peas and it was more like a white rice with bland peas. And I didn't receive any plantins at all. For that price I expect that of course I felt ripped off and was very disappointed.

$18.08 for 5 piece of oxtail and the thing about it is that it have no Raas taste just plain like them just put browning alone on the food. Listen people its not worth it and this is no disrespect, me ago Carl seafood restaurant from ball field days and the food normally good thats the one that was right across the street at Oakland park but this place off university need fi get a better cook and stop charge people all this money for food that's not good.

Second time here, but first time eating here… First time walked out because food looked old as if it’s been there all day. Second time which happens to be tonight, I went there because only Jamaican restaurant nearby opened late, and again food looked old as if it’s been there all day… tasted horrible wasn’t at temperature, just every bad ordered oxtails mini plate and I won’t be back and won’t recommend at all. Disgusting place rice wasn’t cooked completely had a crunch to it and not even that was at temperature literally nothing was at all, not even mid warm. They didn’t even have to nerve to put it in a microwave and I know the temperature wasn’t warm when I received it because I tasted it as soon I got in my car… didn’t eat it actually put it into their trash can.

The majority of the food is great with the exception of the season free peas and rice and the dry as fish. The servers are the worst I have ever seen, just simply RUDE! They are such a turnoff from beginning to end. Just RUDE! Please hire men to serve the customers instead or you will never keep customers.

Carl's used to be my favorite Jamaican restaurant on 441 around 2013 when they had a really great cook (Sam). I ordered food for most of my coworkers (we all enjoyed) the food. Well after Sam left, leftover barbecue chicken would be served with my brown stewed chicken..of course I complained about the food numerous times...complaints dismissed. Today (2022) I went to my new favorite but, the line was almost out the door so I left and...Carl's it was. I dived into my brown stew chicken meal and it's not tasting Jamaican at all.... the chicken was FREEZER BURNED ...seems like some thing's have not changed over the years

The MOST rude Jamaican servers at the front ever. I would never give this establishment my money again. They should consider hiring women who are pleasant and treat paying costumers with respect.

Carl's Seafood Restaurant #1 Customers review ~ Small Oxtails rice & peas $17.00 I visited on two occasions the first time was excellent. I decided to return. The second time not so good. I was very disappointed; the oxtails were not well seasoned, tender or flavorful. Plus no plantains. Please improve - Where is the authentic Jamaican flavors? Thank you

I’ve been going there for years! Moved away for a while came back and it did not disappoint at all. Now that’s consistency!!! And the service actually got so much better than what it used to be so that’s definitely a plus. I only wish they still that lobster/shrimp in garlic butter sauce lol but times have changed right. Highly recommend!

First off when l asked for the price of fried king fish and for one it was way over priced. Second l asked for the price of a mini akee and salt fish he told me 16.49..... Where on earth does anyone charge 16.49 for a mini ake3 and salt fish breakfast? I left and called back and asked for the price of a mini akee and saltfish breakfast 13.49 or so l was told this time. So where and why did the guy quote 16 plus dollars is beyond me. Will not be going back ever and also price gouging seems to be happening there. Be careful.

I usually come & the food is great today it was disgusting the chicken was COLD the rice was reheated with a very old smell. I get the same thing everytime I come & today it was an issue about gravy portion I was ordering for multiple people so I allowed them to continue for the rice to be old and stale and the chicken ice cold un heated I originally should’ve left but they had already made the rice and chicken honestly next time I won’t care I usually come later in the day that’s all I’d advise because the food I had today was stale

Best Jamaican Resturant in broward - their rice and chicken is always consistent. I’ve never had a bad plate from them/ I’ve been going to them for 7-8 years now- they will always serve you a good portion of food - all their lunch specials are valid.

This place should be embarrassed to claim they serve Jamaican Food. Order some red peas soup n it's watery, no peas and a few slithers of chicken & more carrots than necessary. It was terrible, very dissapointing

Great food horrible service and work ethic by the women in the front. You think it would take 5 mind but that's how long it takes for them to start your order then another 10 before you get out. Good thing their food is AWESOME

Ordered food from here yesterday and the minute you open it you could tell it wasn't fresh. Rice n peas and the peas soup was starting to sour. The brown stew chicken look like they just poured some gravy over some old fried chicken after pulling off the skin. Idk who run this restaurant but something needs to change

Rude & distasteful customer service. No training or manners. It reflects poorly on the business when you have flippant associates that call to stir up bacchanal but will not call to assist in placing an order even when I requested; I was trying for an hour & could not get through. I understand something me have been wrong with their phone. Management really needs to look into this shift today around 2pm -3:30 pm. Claiming that they do not hear the phone ringing. Or it wasn't ringing when I called. I don't know what kind of games and small minds are behind that counter. I call & now all of a sudden it rings but doesn't hang up after 4 rings like an ignored call like it was doing before. It rings longer like a normal phone does yet, still no one answers 🙃

Visited this pass weekend. Purchased curry chicken foot it was ice cold and salty. There wasn’t any seasoning or flavor. Secondly, fried chicken with brown stew gravy same no seasonings next, fried king fish was stale again no seasoning. The chef need a lesson on seasonings and flavors. I don’t think I will be returning😞
