Disappointed: quality of cakes and pastry is nothing exceptional and on top overpriced. Service and friendliness could also be improved: we arrived 15 minutes before closure and had to convince the cashier that we could still finish our orders sitting outside on the terrace ... But what really did upset me was what they serve as 'Hot chocolate': a cheap, readymade childrens drink!! That is just outrageous, in particular in a country that prouds itself of its high quality chocolate. The owners need some further training to understand what a hot chocolate is, in particular if you pay 5 EUR for it. It is definitely not a sachet of Suchard Express which costs them maybe the equivalent of 0.20 EUR.

Visited the outlet on 27 Feb 23 evening and was attended to by a rude racist staff. Much better pastries elsewhere for its price point, do not recommend.

Bad service that responds to you, unless I guess if you are Vaudois, in monosyllables. Coffee was nothing special. There are plenty of friendly people and establishments in this city, there's no reason to go to this one.

Below is my previous review from this place which was based on my experience from them before pandemic(inside quote). Unfortunately this place no longer offers same quality pastry. Tried it three times last year in their branch at lutry and Lausanne with different pastries and had to waste away the pastry. Not sure what has changed but now they offer low quality too sweet without texture pastry with a too high price, I hope they can get back to their old track… “With pastry taste offered at their place, you’d never be disappointed. Their pastry is quite fresh, but don’t make their pastry per day though. However, it means you can show up late and still get what you’d like. There are new types of pastry once in a while, but after dropping by their place a few times, it gets harder to try something that would surprise you by its taste or texture(variation in types is low). The chocolate they sell is also nice. Not amazing but definitely above average. Their service can improve. Waiting time for coffee is usually long and the quality of their drinks do not match that of their pastry quality. It’s usually too busy and at times they ask you to sit with strangers if you are alone. There is outside space is in the middle of side walk without distinct boundaries which makes it a bit uncomfortable at times. Overall, an excellent experience….”

My young daughter asked me "why did the lady looked so annoyed when you asked if she speaks English?" 😒 that pretty much explains our experience when comes to service. Cakes are pretty and tasty. Prices are fair, between CHF6 to 7 per piece. We spent CHF20+ on cakes. For first timer and non French speaking visitors, it is pretty much a "self service" concept. Place your order with the servers in front, pay and bring your cakes to your table. A different server will ask for your choice of beverage once you are seated. You pay for this separately. Note: the beverage server was more pleasant than the earlier one.

My favorite place in Lausanne for snack&coffee stop when I come to the city. Located in the heart of old town, near the city hall. Delicious food but last time the shop-assistant was unfriendly and harsh.

Excellent and reasonably priced sandwiches with a nice place to sit on the square.
