Absolute
Ripoff!!
I
paid
over
$700USD
for
two
adults
and
two
teenagers
who
are
college
age.
We
ordered
one
glass
of
French
wine,
one
Tokkuru
(vase)
of
Sake,
and
four
plates
from
a
fixed
menu
for
New
Year's
eve.
The
service
was
pathetic
aside
from
the
fact
that
the
server
made
a
small
change
to
one
plate
for
my
son
who
cannot
eat
shellfish.
Aside
from
this
we
sat
for
long
stretches
with
finished
plates
in
front
of
us
between
courses,
as
if
we
were
at
a
diner
or
chain
restaurant
with
unsophisticated
staff.
We
then
waited
again
for
things
like
water,
drinks,
and
finally
the
check.
Additionally
the
food
was
average
to
good,
but
certainly
nothing
to
write
home
about
or
make
me
think
it
was
worth
more
than
$700.
I
am
a
custom
culinary
knife
maker.
I
make
high
end
chef
knives
for
some
of
the
most
well
known
chefs
today.
I
am
currently
working
on
a
project
for
Chef
José
Andrés.
I
am
also
working
on
a
Project
for
Chef
Sean
Brock
who
is
building
a
new
concept
in
Tennessee.
I
have
traveled
all
over
the
globe,
eating
at
some
of
the
finest
restaurants
in
the
world.
On
my
last
visit
to
Spain
I
had
the
opportunity
to
eat
at
El
Celler
de
Can
Roca
in
Girona,
voted
best
restaurant
in
the
world
more
than
once,
founded
and
run
by
the
three
Roca
brothers.
My
bill
for
the
same
four
guests
with
a
full
bottle
of
reserve
Spanish
wine
was
less
than
at
Miyako.
Let
me
repeat,
"voted
the
best
restaurant
in
the
world".
In
my
opinion
this
is
a
pretentious
and
over
inflated
dining
experience.
It
seems
suited
best
for
those
who
have
no
understanding
of
truly
fine
dining
or
have
no
concern
how
they
spend
their
money.
All
I
see
in
here
are
paid
reviews,
how
typical.
I
feel
deeply
offended
at
the
money
I
spent
to
have
a
less
than
average
Japanese
meal
with
my
family
in
Switzerland
on
New
Year's
eve.
I
can
find
a
better
Japanese
dinner
right
here
in
my
own
town
of
Charlottesville,
VA
by
a
world
class
chef.
Miyako
is
an
utter
disappointment.
