We were walking through the streets of Lausanne one night on vacation and ended up scrapping our previous dinner plans when we walked underneath the windows of this little gem and decided to take a chance since it looked/sounded so cozy. We were not disappointed. Everything from the drinks, to the exceptional food, to the attentive service was wonderful. The focaccia/pizza was especially delicious. Would highly recommend!

Was there with colleagues and tried the seasonal truffle pizza. This has to be the best truffle pizza I had to date. Made simple with truffle and burrata. Edit: And one year later I am back during the same season to try the Truffle Carbonara. Both the seasonal truffle pizza and pasta are good but I personally prefer the pasta. Food, service and atmosphere at its best, no change.

Amazing! Without words … one of the best italians in which we have been because of tasty and traditional plates. And the service was so especial with a really different treatment of Giovanni that got us to the Bella Cerdegna.

Don't get me wrong, the restaurant is OK but it's nothing to write home about. Prices are crazy expensive (super small portions) even for Swiss standards. Caccio e Pepe in a small bowl 27chf. Pasta pesto same small bowl 28chf, those simple plates with basic and relatively standard ingredients (no meat, fish) are super expensive. At the end the waiter refused to serve black tea to us based on a laughable excuse! All in all for a basic restaurant (pasta & pizza) in 1st floor with basic infrastructure (WC), basic food and mediocre service I can't understand their high prices and somehow the attitude. Unfortunately it was hit and miss for us and we will not visit again. Filtered water 5.80chf!!!!

Unbelievable pasta. The atmosphere is romantic and aesthetic. I came by myself and Giovanni provided excellent service. They get fresh shipments of pasta but unfortunately I couldn’t order the lemon ravioli since they didn’t receive it that day. Giovanni recommended the rigatoni and it might’ve been the best pasta I’ve tried. I ended up ordering the mojito, glass of wine, and dessert as well. I would 100% come again. I went on a weekday so only the window seats were reserved. (3 tables) No trouble getting a table.

One of the best meals I have ever had, and probably the best italian. The buffalo mozzarella is not like any I have had, very delicious. The homemade pesto is very tasty. Service by Giovanni was so friendly. Highly recommended.

Best pizza in Lausanne! I am a dedicated pizza enthusiast/maniac, and this was a wonderful, Neapolitan-ish pizza (a bit crispier which I prefer). High quality dough, with long fermentation and great gluten structure in crust. Very friendly staff, romantic atmosphere. We also had a delicious tagliatelle pasta dish with burrata. Look forward to my next visit!

Small indoor restaurant with very nice ambiance, delicious pizza with excellent quality ingredients, and a simple menu and wine list with local swiss and Italian options. Friendly and helpful staff who were very accommodating when we added people and had some people arriving late.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Lausanne! Food wise it is truly great and for the same budget it is very difficult to find an alternative. Strongly recommend it!

Probably the best Italian restaurant in Switzerland. The owner, Giovanni, is extremely friendly and has an extreme attention to detail and quality. The pizza dough and tomato sauce in itself is amazing.

Not incredible but fine pizza. Hard to find it is in the passage with a very small writing on the wall. Look for cipollino written in black cursive letters. Reservation strongly recommended.

We stopped through Lausanne for the first time and randomly found Cipollino online, decided to go try it and thankfully it ended up being one of the best dining experiences we’ve had! We didn’t have a reservation, but were able to be seated at the bar, which ended up being intimate and personal, and we got to chat to the lovely staff there as well. Madison and Nat were amazing! They were both so welcoming and sweet, and we appreciated their honesty with the menu and their recommendations. We had the truffle ravioli (Cuoricini al Tartufo), margherita pizza and tiramisu (as well as the local wine), and everything was amazing! The service was quick and the quality of the food was amazing. Truly an amazing experience that we will never forget!
