Haldimand Tower

Tourist attraction • Historical landmark

👍 The tower is quite small. And surrounded by cars. But you don’t come here for the tower, you visit for the lake. The tower is a good access point for a walk to the east through Pully Plage and on to Lutry. Keep walking for as long as you like as you are never far from a bus back. Good place to start a walk along the lake towards the pier. Nice views of the mountains.

Tower rumoured to have a secret tunnel up to the Rue Haldimand in the centre of town.

Based on the high rating, I expected something interesting or impressive. The parking spots around the tower do not make the tower any better. I walked quite a bit to get here, not worth the effort. Although the park next to the tower is quite nice.

Couldn’t find much history about it but what a breathtaking view! Take a walk from Haldimand tower to Olympic museum.

Beautiful walk on Quai d'Ouchy starts from Ouchy Olympique and ends at the Halimand tower. The tower is inaccessible but it acts as a useful landmark. I thought that the walk was even more beautiful on a clear night.

It's not possible to discover the tower and climb up inside, but it's a lovely landmark still maintained. There was a competition between two builders back in the day apparently. There are two such ruins, one above the “Tribunal Federal” and this one at the pretty lakeside of Ouchy next to the Olympic Museum.

The promenade of Lausanne with the Tour de Haldimand at the end and the Olympic Museum at the beginning is worth every step. It offers a beautiful view across the lake and into the Alps. Could sit here for hours.

Imagine that you can walk through an amazing park in order to get to this tower and then go for a swim on a beach that is just next to it! Talk about fun times!

The Tower itself is meh. The area around is really nice. Not far from the Denantou Park and pavilion (check it out) and just besides the lake. There are beaches towards the East and Ouchy and the Olympic Museum towards the West, both at walking distance. There's parking spots around but it gets busy . Public transit is also an option

Fronting the lake. Good place to walk during the day or maybe at night. Parking is very limited.
