Hôtel Continental in Lausanne, Switzerland, good location to the train station. Good walking to the town, very nice town. Room supposed to have airconditoining, well mine did not. I requested a different room, which was done with reluctance. I was told at first ..."that it was going to rain at night." Uncomfortable room. I rate this hotel as a 2.5 star not a 4 star as it claims itself.

Hotel centrally located, ideal if you travel by train as the hotel is just in front of the main station. My room was clean. Typically business hotel in terms of design of the room. The room’s temperature was ok, probably they should increase the heating by a couple of degrees to ensure a better comfort for the guests. The breakfast was included in my room rate and it was ok, nothing special. The only two things I didn’t appreciate were the orange juice that was tasting as orange juice (maybe they could chance supplier/brand) and the already pre-cooked boiled eggs. I would prefer to have a device and cook the eggs at the moment. The staff is very friendly and welcoming both at the reception and in the breakfast room. I also appreciate the reduced use of plastic, no plastic glass in the room and a wood-base key for the door, well done!

I booked at the Hotel Continental because it was the official hotel of the Cyclotour du Leman. Because the hotel is directly across from the train station I was a little dubious about the quality, but the hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The renovations are of very high quality and the room was very comfortable. They even opened the breakfast room early to accommodate the cyclists. All in all, a very good experience.

Very happy here. Arrived with my touring bike. No problem. They found a place for it. Starbucks on the left another bakery on the right. Mattresses are great. Very friendly helpful reception team. Thank you.

I just had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Continental in Lausanne for a work trip. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist's warm and friendly demeanor made me feel truly welcomed. The rooms were not only spotlessly clean but surprisingly serene despite the hotel's proximity to the train station. I was pleasantly surprised by the peaceful atmosphere that enveloped the space, allowing for a restful night's sleep. I recommend Hotel Continental for anyone visiting Lausanne and looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay at a good price.

Great location and nice staff. It’s very near to all the great places to visit in Lausanne. The big plus was the access to the gym, sauna and steam bath. Thank you very much for the wonderful hospitality.

Great location opposite the train station. The reception staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is clean and rooms spacious however quite dated and is showing signs of wear and tear. The decor is a little stepping back in time. I had a room with an amazing view of the lake and mountains. Would definitely stay again

The location is amazing . It is in the middle of everything . The staff are friendly and helpful. My room was clean and enough (with respect to size) for one person. This hotel made my short vacation just amazing in Lausanne.

Excellent stay - would come back again! Superb location beside train station but rooms were not noisy. Spacious and clean rooms. Service was exceptional - special call out to staff Noemia who went above and beyond her duties to go out and get my toddler some bananas after they ran out at breakfast time.

The night staff was friendly, the room was fine but i was deeply disappointed when I asked the lady at front desk in the morning if I could just get a cup of coffee from the breakfast area she said "just a cup of coffee is not possible" and I could go to the store next door to buy one. Bad service coming from a 4* hotel, I will stay somewhere else next time.

I didn't actually stay at this hotel but I had to rave about David at the front desk! We came in after an early train ride into Lausanne. This was our first time traveling via railway internationally and we had no idea of how inconvenient our scheduling was. We walked across the street to the hotel hoping for some type of help when we met David. He provided us with excellent instruction and was so warm and inviting. We were having a rough time and he turned everything around for us. When I told him it was my birthday he wished me a happy birthday and gave both my mom and I a piece of chocolate and allowed us to sit in the lobby until our schedule was avaliable. I could've cried. David is the absolute best, if this is the type of treatment we got as wayward, lost and confused travelers, I can't imagine what a delight it would be to stay at the hotel under David's care!

Stayed here recently for work. Great hotel in a very convenient location. Good breakfast, lovely room and great free access to the fitness facilities.

Close to main station. Perfect if you want to drop off you luggage and start explore. Because my room was ready I do check-in until noon, but if is not ready, they have a room for luggage and you can start visit a beautiful city. Maybe the room is small but you don't visit Lausanne to stay in hotel. The room is for sleep and they have coffee☕️ and fridge to keep you water or beer 🍺 perfect.

Extremely convenient, across the street from the train station and next to the metro that gets you to both the old town and the Olympics area by the waterfront. Reception is always there to help and every town map/brochure is in the lobby. Room was modern, clean, all the basics.

Great location and amenities the only two issues I had were a lousy wifi network and noise from neighboring rooms. Overall a great place to stay!

Service is friendly and competent but unfortunately the ambiance is bad. Rooms and general areas are really out of date. Rooms are loud and smell maybe due to the old carpets.

The 4 stars of this hotel are a joke. Our main problem was not that the hotel, rooms, elevator and pretty much everything was outdated. Our problem was that is was dirty. Upon arrival we noticed that the sheets did not cover the whole bed, we could see hairs and stains, the duvett and pillows were yellow, stained and generally gross. After we called reception, they replaced the sheets, and found some duvetts and pillows a bit yellowed, but at least not stained. The bathroom was dirty, the small basket with the handtowels filled with hairs, dust. The ventilation in the bathroom was filled with dust, and we could see how the dust us falling on us while stanting at the sink. Breakfast room had dirty tables, the food was below average. Considering the hygene in the hotel, we eat only food that came in original package and was not processed. Next day we decided to cut our stay short, took the train home 1 day early. We did not get a refund, as we decided in the afternoon only. Overall a very bad experience!

The location is very convenient and the staff were professional and helpful, but the hotel needs a scrub and refresh from top to bottom. Carpets, walls, fittings all way past their best-before date. I expected more for a 4* hotel.

Hotel rooms are much nicer and refurbished on the inside than the outside would have you believe. Breakfast area also refurbished and staff friendly. Location very central and opposite the train station (a little noisy at night but very convenient). Beds comfortable and bathrooms clean and tidy.

The hotel room is dated but you can't beat the location...it's right across the train station. Super convenient if travel by train. Our spacious room on the 5th floor with a lake view was wonderful. It has a little balcony separated for each room. One advice is to check on electrical plug for the room refrigerator if you plan on storing food that need to be refrigerated. We found out the next morning and had to throw away all the food that we bought. Breakfast room was really nice and the selection was okay. Friendly service. So many places to eat nearby the hotel. There's Air Conditioning too for summer season. The tram station is one minute walk. We will definitely return to this hotel next time we visit Lausanne.

The Hotel Location is more than perfect. Area of improvement which English is most likely the pariar they speak however needs more employees shall do also

Breakfast is small but has everything you would need for a hearty start to the day Rooms are a good size but they are not wasting space so don't expect a dance floor of empty space. Beds are okay, personally I would prefer softer mattress Price is very reasonable for where the hotel is and the quality The gym is only open after 9am most days so don't bank on an early workout if you're staying on business The gym is connected to the hotel and is a fitness centre open to the public therefore its a good size and has everything you need

Very handy for the train station, being directly opposite. A minute's walk. Receptionist made me feel really welcome despite my primary-school French, helpfully dipping into English to cover the bits I couldn't do! I was surprised and pleased to be given a ticket covering local buses and metro during my stay. Room was clean and comfortable and fairly quiet, though don't expect views in this very central location. I am a light sleeper who is frustratingly sensitive to the sound of slamming doors, and I did wake at 6am when other guests started leaving their rooms.

Hôtel located in front of the train station, very convenient. Staff was knowledgeable. The single room was very small and had a bad smell.

Good location and service, but poor wifi connection and outdated facilities. The air-conditioner was making annoying noise. In the shower, there was neither shampoo nor bodywash, but a bottle of handwash.
