Peaceful, dignified, and charmingly old-fashioned, the Carlton is like the townhouse of a well-to-do grandmother. It wears its long history with pride, but there’s nothing backward about the service or the modern, vibrant dishes coming out of the restaurant. The Carlton Lausanne Boutique Hotel is a classic French-style hotel right near the lake in Lausanne. The staff are extremely helpful and the manager is always happy to help with anything you need, or great tips on the best wineries and eateries to see in town. My first stay here was in November 2021 and now recently on a motorcycle trip in September 2022. Rates are very competitive, and rooms are excellent, I was lucky to get into a junior suite with Balcony on both occasions. Make sure to book in advance, it's always busy for all the right reasons. You are walking distance from the lakefront without the lakefront prices and all the charm and luxury. This is definitely my regular whenever I am in beautiful Lausanne!

Room, 3rd floor was pretty cold but two heaters provided (alrrady in the room). Hotel was very clean and good. Bitnold fashioned. Comfy bed.

Overpriced, restaurant almost always closed, no room service, breakfast very poor and old facilities. The word boutique is misleading, it’s not what you would expect

Shamefully awful. A tiny room, with toilet space so small as to be virtually unusable. At a charge of 200 CHF to my organisation, when a bigger room is advertised on their website for 128 CHf.

right next to the metro and close to the train station. breakfast was fine, rooms were a bit old. shower was difficult to use and elevator was very old. fast wifi

Great location between the old city and and the lake, rooms are very clean but some of them are very small , reception staff was very helpful and helped a lot on choosing the rooms ( 6th August) Definitely will be back to this hotel .

Nice small hotel. Provided breakfast options (small and big) that you can pay if your room is excluded breakfast. Room is nice, spacious. But, I feel the lighting is a bit too dark. Found a bug on top of my kettle when I am back and wanting to make myself a cup of hot tea. I mentioned about this during my checkout. They mentioned it is normal and not a harmful bug. Well, I am not the expert but hopefully they desinfect the room regularly.

I stayed here last week. I honestly can't understand how such a beautiful, little hotel doesn't get 5/5 stars. Perfect location, clean and quiet rooms, excellent staff. The room was small but not cramped, and it had a patio. The style of the room -- particularly with the nightstands built into the wall -- was unique and really enjoyable. When it was time to check out on a Sunday, it was really convenient to sort of roll out of bed and take the adjacent metro to the train station in less than 10 minutes.

This is such a nice luxurious hotel and our family has been enjoying staying in it on multiple occasions since 2016. Everything is impeccable: rooms decor, luxury toiletries, comfortable and quiet rooms, daily housekeeping, excellent service from all staff members. The hotel is located right by the metro stop which makes it very convenient, and only 10 minutes walk from the lake. We stayed in the executive room which is spacious, has plenty of storage, nice modern bathroom, a balcony, mini fridge, desk, large TV, safe, and an armchair with a coffee table - everything we needed during our 3-week stay. I can't speak of the hotel high enough and would happily recommend it to anyone. Thank you, team Carlton.

Very good hotel for the price. Breakfast is worth it. Service is on point, very nice and competent personnel. Location is also very good just two metro stations away from the lake side as well as two for the central station. Has a romantic touch to it regarding decoration and the nice bathtub. Just maybe a bit spacious.

Loved our stay in this hotel and everything was fantastic. The only issue was that there’s stairs at the front and we had to carry our heavy luggage’s ourselves on the stairs. No bellman , no ramp or anything that can help

Quiet, clean and great location metro station is 1 minute from the hotel and main train station is 5 minutes away.

Very good breakfast. I highly recommend eating there. Close to the train and a nice walk down to the lake.

Friendly service, excellent restaurant, comfortable bed, bath, large terrace, tea and coffee in the room, definitely could use a bit of maintenance (cracked bathroom sink) great value for money if you book in well in advance.

Rooms are very small but balcony made it bearable. If weather had been poor would have been a very cramped experience. Hotel spotlessly clean but lacking in any info about breakfast etc. Never saw anyone eat here therefore didn't try the restaurant.

nice location.50 meters from the subway line #2. 2 stops from the central station. clean. very nice breakfast. parking for the car. classic rooms are small. executive rooms are Big.

This is a friendly hotel. Rooms are very nice. Mine had a small balcony to sit out on. Bed v comfortable and I slept well Great choice of food for breakfast. Staff helpful.

Good location (few meters from M2 tram), also close to Geneva lake. Polite and helpful personal. Rooms are a little bit small, but done in a style. Cleaning rooms daily. Internet is great. At check in you get a free Lausanne transport and discount card.

I had a nice stay there. The basic room is quite on the small side and lightning is sort of dim. The amenities were fine though and the staff was quite friendly. I specially liked the location, right in the heart of town and not far from either the train station nor the coastal promenade. I was satisfied with the choice considering the rate I got.

Loved my one night stay here whilst cycling around Lac Léman. Well located, both the staff on Front Desk were very friendly. Room was clean and a very comfortable bed and quiet. Small problem to make the a/c work properly but otherwise perfect. Oh and it’s right on the metro station to get up and down the hill complimentary! Thanks !
