I spent 4 days here in the fall. Wonderful family and staff. Accommodations were affordable, cozy, quiet and relaxing. Was able to cross a lot of things off my bucket list on this trip!! I was able to milk a cow, make mozzarella cheese from scratch, quilt with an Amish woman, shoot a gun, feed a calf from a bottle, and ride in an Amish horse drawn carriage!!!! The breakfasts on the farm were amazing and the coffee was from the Dominican Republic with fresh raw milk!!! To die for!!!! Highly recommend.

Our family of three had a wonderful time making lasting memories at Verdant View Farm! The owner, Elisa, was more than understanding when we had a last minute change of plans. Thankfully, we were still able to make our trip and we were welcomed with open arms. The room was great, and we all slept comfortably. We loved seeing the train go by our room! My 3 year old son still talks about all of the animals. He loved helping with the morning chores, and visiting the cows and goats whenever he wanted to. It was such a unique vacation that we are all so glad we were able to experience!

Touring the Verdant View Farm was the highlight of our trip to the Lancaster area! Normally, the farm only offers tours in the warm season (we wanted a tour in December). But we emailed the staff and asked for a private tour, and they said yes! A win already at that. Over the 1 hour farmer’s apprentice tour, we had a chance to milk a cow, feed a calf, hang with some chickens, and play around with some goats! Our farmer / guide was this lovely woman named Martha. She has a ton of knowledge about the animals at the farm and farming in general. She was delightful. We’ll definitely be back when we’re next in the area!

My family and I have visited Verdant View several times over the years and have always enjoyed the experience. Things have changed, as they often do, and this visit made us feel more like “customers” allowed in rather than being engaged and welcomed. Also, a few missing amenities … water would be nice or at least a paper cup to drink from. Sadly, the warmth is gone which diminishes the overall experience. The location is awesome, the farm is wonderful, the animals a joy.

I brought my children to this amazing farm so we could reconnect with nature. It was perfect! They enjoyed the farm chores, numerous friendly cats and dog, and the swing set. They loved learning how a farm operates and loved being a part of the work at this farm. The location is perfect and everyone is friendly and kind. Breakfast was also a fun and delicious morning experience!

WOW! What a fantastic experience! We DID NOT stay at the farm only did the tour (but next time I'd love to stay on the property) Our guide Trey was great...so patient and very knowledgeable! Our family loved our visit and it was a highlight of our trip to PA! The goats are absolutely adorable!

Wonderful farm stay with tasty and social breakfast. The family owned farm is what makes this place charming. The owner hosts go out of their way to ensure a memorable stay by providing breakfast, farm tours, and local 'off the beaten path' recommendations. Recommended, especially with kids.

This farm was wonderful! We checked into our room (#7), which was on the second floor of the little white house, after a busy day. It was just perfect for two people though it will fit more. The bathroom was roomy, with a farm view from the toilet (haha). We made sure to set an alarm to be at the barn at 7:30am the next morning to help with farm chores. It was so cool. We collected eggs, fed and watered animals, milked the cow, etc. The farm dog, Scooby, made us laugh. He ran around barking in circles, like he was in charge. After farm chores guests went to the main house dining room for a family style breakfast. Everything was delicious. The meal was scrambled eggs with ham, potatoes, and a delicious looking cinnamon bun thing (which we couldn't enjoy due to being gluten free - not their fault). I liked that we sang a quick grace/blessing before eating and that the host has everyone introduce themselves. The goats for our top vote for favorite highlight from our stay. They were hilarious jumping around and climbing on my kiddo. He is still talking about it days later. Overall, an awesome visit and we would visit again.

My family of over 20 people stayed here August 2022 and loved every bit of the experience- from the Farmhouse breakfasts, helping with morning chores, and relaxing on the farm. The staff are super friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend if you're headed to Lancaster Co.

Our family had an awesome time at Verdant View Farm. We were there for 6 nights and days. Breakfast on the veranda was always delicious. Our grandchildren had lots of fun holding the baby goats, feeding the pig, and milking the cows (sort of). Another highlight was taking a ride on the railroad that runs through the property.

Very nice cozy rooms and huge farm area. its a real farm, not your 1 acre namesake farm. They have cattle, curious baby goats, chickens, everything to amuse the kids. The train keeps coming up and down through the farm, its a picturesque scene right out of movies lol. Rooms are clean, enough towels and soap are provided. No shampoo. The breakfast was good with eggs, potatoes and pie. The coffee and tea served during breakfast was tasty. Mon-Sat you eat breakfast together, Sunday you get voucher to use at nearby restaurant. Sunflower garden is buzzing with bees, ends August. They have beautiful giant sunflowers. Definitely recommend this to all families, all ages. You want to spend calm beautiful mornings in green farms then this is the place.

A wonderful experience. Wish we would have stayed for 2 nights. We could have played with the goats all day. Even with the rain, “chores” were fun. Very sweet family!

Had a very nice 2 night stay on the farm. Accommodations were clean and charming. Our 2 girls really enjoyed the morning chores with the cows and playing with the goats throughout the day. We would highly recommend staying here.

An authentic farm experience that was fun for the whole family. Our daughters loved doing the morning chores and playing with the baby goats. We enjoyed the breakfast which was made with fresh ingredients. The owners were friendly and welcoming and we look forward to coming back soon.

My family and I made lasting memories on our visit to the farm. This is a beautiful little corner of the world with amazing people. The BnB is well cared for and comfortable with a relaxing atmosphere, everyone you interact with is wonderful. The breakfast was just perfect. We felt like we were visiting with long lost friends. Thank you from Alex, Krystle and Evelyn.

A real farm with animals too cute to pass up. Had a lovely tour of the property led by Martha. Super interactive and well organized. Looking for a hands-on experience? Come to Verdant View Farm to milk cows and hold goats! Definitely worth the cost of a private tour.

We have loved our visits to Verdant View in summers 2022 and ‘23. The area offers many activities but we like to spend nearly every minute right on this beautiful farm. You can rise early and participate in farm chores or sleep in—your choice. But don’t sleep so long that you miss the delicious fresh farm breakfast! It’s served family-style which provides a low-key way to meet the other guests and chat with the wonderful, welcoming family who owns this fourth-generation farm. And then the day is yours. Visit the pig and feed her some pecans, get nibbled on by goats (or cuddle the babies if you’re really lucky), pull up a hay bale and read in the cow barn, pick up some fruit and Amish cheese and enjoy lunch at a shaded picnic table with the barn cats as your dining companions. Push your kids on the swings. Watch the historic Strasburg steam engine go by several times a day. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The kitchen in the little white house has everything needed for cooking a meal and it was great to have use of the new refrigerator when we stayed in the main guest house this year. Busy running a working farm and farm-stay, we’ve always found the owners and interns to be totally approachable and happy to answer questions, share info about the farm, or address any concerns. ‘Til next time, Verdant View!

We had a great experience last weekend at Verdant View. We were traveling with family so got two separate rooms which were quite comfortable. Five to ten minute drive to lots of locations like Strasburg Railroad and Sight and Sound Theater. The breakfast was outstanding and the farm chores in the morning were much enjoyed by all!!!

This was our first trip to Amish country, and we couldn't have been happier. Verdant View is a wonderful mixture of the slow farm life, with modern convenience such as AC and WiFi. We ate an amazing "family style" breakfast, complete with homemade Chocolate Shoofly Breakfast Pie. The farm chores were so much fun for us, and my 5 year old daughter. Although, I'm sure I enjoyed snuggling the baby goats the most. The rooms were very clean, the host family was very sweet, and I was excited to bring home their cookbook. The B&B was centrally located among the tourist attractions, and the host shared some great places for us to visit. We had an amazing stay, and can't wait to visit again!

We get beef from Verdant and it’s amazing. This time at pick up we took the kids for the farm tour and it was so much fun (even in the rain). It’s so hands on and informative. They loved interacting with all the animals, see a working farm and where their food come from.

Our family had an amazing time staying at the farm for our child’s 2nd birthday. It is truly a wonderful experience for all ages. We took the farm tour and helped with morning chores, but the communal breakfast definitely is what stayed with me. The hosts really do a great job of bringing strangers together & cultivating connection. And the homemade food was incredible! A favorite moment was when was the children played together in the dining room while the adults continued talking after the meal. We stayed in the little White House for 2 nights. The space was clean & cozy. The kitchen had everything you’d need to cook. There was reverse osmosis drinking water and access to a coffee maker. We loved the abundance of children’s books and the tiny rocking chair was a hit with our kid! We left with some meat purchased from the farm store and, as a birthday gift, Elisa gave us a lovely Johnny Appleseed children’s book. The minute we left we were already talking about our next visit!

We had the most amazing stay! My daughter and I really loved the farm chores at 7:30 each morning. The family style breakfast was incredible and fresh. Our accommodations were quaint and cozy. All of the staff members we encountered were wonderful and kind. We will absolutely return! ♡

Our visit to Lancaster was certainly enhanced by our ability to stay on a beautiful working farm. Verdant View is surrounded by nature; Corn fields, cows, chickens, (adorable) goats, cats and even a cute pig - all of which are available to interact with during the stay. I can't imagine how different our trip would be had we stayed in a basic hotel and not fully immersed ourselves in the local culture in the way Verdant Farm allows.

This review is for the FARM TOUR ONLY I cant say enough great things about the Farm Tour. My sister and I decided to take this tour at the last minute and talk about good timing . To be there 1 hour after a calf is born. That alone was worth taking the tour. Our tour guide was so informative. He answered everyone’s questions and gave plenty of time for everyone to milk cows ,and hold animals . I highly recommend this tour for families, or just anyone that’s interested in learning the basics about a farm. The day we went it wasn’t that hot so we didn’t need a lot of sunscreen or a hat. Definitely didn’t need a jacket. What I wouldn’t make sure you have his older shoes or some you can wash . You will also be in some grassy areas, so keep that in mind .

Elisa, Tierney and the rest of the Verdant View team made this such a wonderful experience for my wife and me, and our 2 year old daughter. Baby goats were born during our stay! The farm is beautiful and the farm chores were something you don't do everyday. I enjoyed getting to meet the other guests at breakfast, where the eggs you ate you had collected that day or the day before. We made some great memories here and look forward to returning.

We took our 9 and 3 year old on the farmer's apprentice tour, and it went great! Our tour guide, Trey, was super knowledgeable about all aspects of their operation. We had plenty of time allocated to all our activities including milking/ feeding cows, collecting eggs and holding hens visits with a pet rabbit and pig, and playing with baby goats! This is well worth the money/time if you are in the area!

Thank you to all the staff for a great time. You are all so welcoming but also allow the kids to explore and do their own thing. My parents took me here over 30 years ago and my wife and I got the chance to continue that with our kids. Can’t wait to continue the tradition next year as well.

My family and I had a great time at Verdant View Farms. The staff is awesome, the scenery is very beautiful and the White Little House, where we stayed, was nice a clean, the kids enjoyed the backyard a lot. Our most amazing experience was the breakfast, not just because of the great food, but because how beautiful and special that moment was. We all ate as a big family and we got to know other people from other parts of the country. If you are wondering about visiting them, do it! you will have a great time. It is a nice place for kids and adults!

The family went there for the farm tour and it was awesome!!! Our guide, Trey, a high school senior was very informative and helpful with all the questions we had about the animals. We were allowed to stay after the tour and our kids played with the goats for an hour. We will definitely go back.

Our family has been to Verdant View Farm twice now and both times have been incredible! The first year we had a 2 year old and twin 1 year olds, and this year we had a 3 year old, twin 2 year olds, and a 9 month old - and brought two other families with young children! The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. We stayed at the B&B the first year which was great, and this year we rented the whole little white house for us and our friends - it is beautiful and impeccably clean! Our children loved the playground set in the backyard and we enjoyed sitting on the porch in the evenings. Farm chores are a highlight, and are well suited to any age! My kids would still talk about it from the year before! Highly highly recommend!
