(Translated by Google) Real Companhia Velha, Museum of the first demarcation is located on the 0th floor of 17 56 Real Companhia Velha Museum & Enoteca, located by the Douro river, on the Gaia quay (at Serpa Pinto Street, 44 B also with entrance by Avenida Ramos Pinto) It adjoins a tasting room and wine store and is divided into six chapters. At the heart of the Museum is the history of the Douro, the oldest regulated demarcated region in the world, inseparable from the history of the Real Companhia Velha. This trip can be made through numerous objects and documents belonging to the company's estate, highlighting the royal license signed by D. José I on September 10, 1756 under the auspices of the Marquis of Pombal, available in the original, untouchable version, and in two digital versions, capable of being clad, historical bottles. A museum that also tells us some of the most important world events.

Included in our tour to the cellar 20 minutes away, was access to this museum. Which is quite nice since the tour at the other place is so quick, only 30 minutes of information. Here you can take it at your own pace, read as little or as much as you like, and three films. Included in our admission was another port tasting. We would recommend going to the cellar and getting a 13 euro tour there, which includes 4 tastings. And access to the museum + the extra tasting

It's a great value paying 5 Euro for a touring ticket for the exihbition of the company's important history in regulating Portuguese wine. Another 15 Euros for a wine tasting of two glasses of Port ( a white and a Tawny) with some snacks. A little further out of the beating path of a line of wine tasting places but probably less crowd

We had free ticket from visiting Real Comphania Velha which is great. All about history and so on. We had free glass to tastle, i am not sure how much you need to pay if you walk in. It was a good experience. You can can buy and drink after visiting the museum.

Small museum with great detail about very little. 12 euro entrance fee was extortionate. You could complete the visit in half hour. Everything was geared to the 'shop' on the way out where you had your tastings, which is really all they were. You could not choose, even when I said I do not like white port, I was not offered an alternative. Sales pitch delivered in a robotic way. Not worth the walk, the price or the time.

An impressive demonstration of the wine production in the Porto region history. One of the few Portuguese Port producers that is not owned by the English. Nice demonstration and wonderful taste experience. A nice choice among all the others at the same location.

bought entry more for the 2 glasses of port. These were decent, but it was not worth paying for the museum alone, in my opinion.

Fascinating museum portraying details of the formation of the company with marquis de pompal at the helm. The company and Pompal were involved in demarcating the first wine appellation in the world. A glass of Porto to end the visit
