One
of
the
best
boardwalks
in
Tampa
leads
to
this
observation
tower.
This
well
maintained
boardwalk
is
right
through
the
middle
of
beautiful
mangrove
forests.
Kayak
route
also
goes
nearby
or
sometimes
under
the
boardwalk.
There
is
a
Pier
on
the
way,
which
gives
an
amazing
view
of
the
lake.
There
are
small
crabs
everywhere,
but
they
never
bother
us.
However
,
an
insect
repellent
is
recommended,
as
there
are
plenty
of
invisible
bugs.
Raccoons
can
also
be
spotted.
The
tower
gives
a
birds
eye
view
of
the
entire
preserve
and
beyond.
From
the
top,
we
can
see
the
the
skylines
of
Tampa
and
St.Petersburg.
Indeed
a
very
relaxing
place
surrounded
by
natural
beauty
and
greenery.
Tips
:
The
'tower
board
walk'
is
circular
and
the
observatory
is
an
extension
somewhere
in
the
middle.
However
there
is
no
signs
which
points
to
that.
Get
a
map
of
preserve,
and
look
up
for
the
extension.
Avoid
climbing
the
tower
if
there
is
a
chance
of
lightning.
