The temple is believed to built around AD 1020. The temple is easily accessible from all parts of Bali. The temple is built around the "Trimurti" concept of Hindu mythology. The main deity in this temple is Vishnu. Once you enter the temple, you feel as if you are thrown back in time. The sculptures, the ambience and the mere atmosphere is enough for you to walk through a time which is three hundred years back. Everything is built using Red bricks, lava stones and wood and the roofing is done with bamboo leaves. The temple has been destroyed many times by earth quakes and every time they renovated it with a perfection which is the most wonderful quality of Balinese architecture. You have to get the "Sarong" from the Temple auditorium which is opposite to the temple entrance. You have to give some donation to the temple, but is not mandatory. It is good you give some donation, as it forms the spine of keeping these temple still intact.

This temple has very fine architecture. The entrance fee includes loaning of a sarung that must be worn before entry. It was also great to see artists at work restoring the wall decorations and repairing the roofs. A peaceful place to visit.

Pura Puseh Desa Batuan is a stunning 11th-century Hindu temple located in the artistic village of Batuan, Bali. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and features exquisite stone carvings, traditional Balinese gates, and thatched-roof shrines. It is a place of worship and cultural preservation for the local community, where visitors can witness the vibrant ceremonies and rituals of Balinese Hinduism. Pura Puseh Desa Batuan is a must-see attraction for anyone interested in the history, architecture, and spirituality of Bali.

The temple looks really nice and interesting, but you won't get any information or history on it. We just go there to take pictures and that's it. Nothing but pictures. I have expected more from what is said to be the oldest temple in Bali. When was it built, by who? How long did it take? How long after were the other temples built? What's it used for? Come on!!!

Amazing temple with traditional Balinese architecture. 30,000 IDR entrance fees and complimentary sarong. The main gate is good spot for photo. Inside, there are many sections to sit and relax. You can find few ponds as well where we can watch fish, turtle. Go here for absolute peace.

Beautiful temple. Men and women will be given a sarong to borrow for free when purchasing an entry ticket (the ticket booth is just across the road, with ample parking).

An interesting temple complex which ideally hosts multiple deities according to the occasion. Each deity has its own temple or a place to reside, and a central complex where all can gather and pray. One of the must see places close to Ubud. Very rich history with stories about Hindu history and why and when the deities are worshipped was the highlight of this visit. The entry fees is 100k for 1 person which includes the sarong. There is ample parking space nearby with snacks and restrooms available. In-between there are smaller areas for water to flow which host koi fish. Visitors can buy food to feed these koi fish and residing tortoises.

A very nice place to get some photos and feel the culture of Bali. A small donation to the temple and then you can look around as much as you want.

One of the very few places, that allow visitors to enter the temple. However I felt it was not worth a visit for 30K IDR per person. You are still not allowed into the main temple or when there is an offering ceremony going on. The place is not worth paying the money for a visit.

The place wasn't really that spacious, but it also has a good ambience. the time we went was a bit late, so it was quite hot as well. Entrance is 30k only locals or tourists.

1000 yr. old Batuan Temple is truly a Balinese Architecture wonder. A must visit place. The carvings and architecture of the temples showing Hindu and Indian influence in this region from ancient times. As per temple inscription Batuan temple was built on 944 isaka (1020 AD) on Trimurti or Trinity concept of Hinduism . Actually there are 3 temples of Hindu Gods in this village. One is a Desa or Village temple to worship God Brahma or the Creator, a Puseh Temple was meant for worship God Vishnu - the Preserver , and the third one is a Dalem Temple to worship Lord Shiva or the Destroyer.

I had a wonderful time visiting Pura Puseh Desa Batuan Bali, a beautiful Hindu temple in the village of Batuan. The temple is very old and has a lot of intricate carvings and statues. I was amazed by the architecture and the atmosphere of the place. I also learned a lot about the history and culture of the Balinese people from the friendly guides. It was a memorable and enriching experience for me.

This temple took my breath away. The level of detail in the stonework is out of this world, and the temple itself is ancient. How cool it was to be standing in a structure that has been in place for hundreds of years. There's so much history and Hindu theology just in this temple. I highly recommend it. I would love to go back and actually see a service take place.

Batuan Temple (Pura Puseh Desa Batuan is one of the most popular temples located in the village of Kahyangan, in Bali. It has the typical Balinese split gates, thatched shrines ad beautifully carved statues. Temples for Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are in different temples in the premises. We visited this temple on a hot and sunny day. It was not too crowded. The temple should definitely worth visiting.

Beautiful temple with the fattest koi fish I've ever seen. Stopped to listen to a small prayer ceremony and felt so peaceful by the end.

It is a good place to visit and learn about the culture and spiritual rituals of the local people. It is best to go with a guide who can explain the rituals and how the temple is kept

To visit temple, usually it us needed to cover sholders and mandatory to wear a Sarong. I visited during the week and payed 30.000 rp to enter and they lent me a sarong in front of the main entrance. Ceremony happened at 6pm followed by cultural performances of dance and theater. It was really beautiful to see!

Really beautiful temple & there were not many tourists. However the 30k per person price point might be considered a little high as the temple really was quite small and there wasn’t much to see. Some areas were cordoned off too. Would have been nice if there were also a main sign board describing the history of the place

Beautiful and quiet temple. Full of amazing carvings and statues. The gates at the entry are awesome. Due to the location I guess is not that crowded, so we got the opportunity to enjoy it fully in peace. You have to get your tickets on the side, where you can park also. And of course, you need to wear a sarong :)

I appreciated this smaller temple because it was not crowded compared to the more popular ones. Felt authentic and you can still see the impressive carvings on the temple.

Nice quaint place. We went ~10 mins before closing at 5 PM, no one else was there. We were asked to wear sarong with sash & give donation before entering. We have 10K IDR as donation. Love the architecture of the place, it is so beautiful and loved the vibe :)

Very nice, quiet, peaceful temple. It's not usually crowded, and you can take some really good photographs in this temple.

This is a very nice temple. Beautiful grounds around it, and was quite empty when we came in the morning, so we got a chance to really enjoy the tranquility of it. They charge a modest 10K donation (pretty much mandatory), and they loan you a sarong that you must wear, irrespective of having long pants one, but they are very courteous about it. We really enjoyed looking around here.

The temple is beautiful. My Indonesian friend told me about the story of the temple. The fight. Vishnu. Kurma. Everything is magical and interesting. You can't just take photos on some shrine and respect is highly accustomed. I wore a sarong when I entered inside. My friend didn't pay any as she was a local. And young. I loved everything about this village temple. ❀️
