Beautiful palace but be careful to not get tourist-trapped! So actually the palace itself is stunning and it’s definitely worth being there early in the morning (if you are lucky, you will be the only one). Unfortunately, without a guide you will understand pretty much nothing. When I visited the palace, an old man asked me, if he should tell me something about the palace. As you have to pay entrance fee, I assumed he would work there and as usual just give him a small tip. Well, he told me interesting stuff and seemed to know what he was talking about. However, after a few minutes he stopped his presentation about the palace. I wasn’t shure, if he was finished, so I wasn’t prepared to give him a tip right away. Just a few seconds (probably 5) after he stopped, he immediately said “give me a tip”. So did I, even though I thought it was extremely rude. After I gave him a tip (a Bali usual amount for small services) he converted the amount of Rupiah I gave him into Euros and said that wouldn’t be much for a European. I was absolutely shocked, opened my wallet, he looked into it and so I gave him more (way above what’s usual for Bali), which I absolutely regret now. If you go there and let him tell you something, persist on the tip you are willing to give.

Very out of the way temple but cool if you happen to be on the East side of Bali. There’s a great little museum that you can visit as part of the ticket. Make sure you go to the middle and get the caretaker to explain your astrological birth date. Very cool!

Historical place with beautiful Balenese structure. Entry fee Rp50K for foreigners. A museum also maintained in the premises. Museum entry is included in the main ticket. Nice mural paintings can be seen in the lake temple. To sum up, one shouldn't miss visiting this place.

We only made a pit stop, there but the location easily takes an hour or two to visit. It is really well maintained and the scenery tells a long story of Balinese culture. Also there is a museum talking about the colonial past of the Dutch paired with nice artifacts to be seen.

Interesting place to learn about historical building and the story behind it. Better with guide to help you. Don’t forget to visit diorama that located near ticketing booth. Close to this place there’s Rare Park, if you’re in big group of family, it’s good place to take a rest with picnic mat.

Obelisk is a memorial to the resistance against the Dutch colonisers, Bali got under their control in 1908, otherwise it was the justice hall, 30k admission if you have kitas or 50k if not

The ancient architectural at Semarapura, Klungkung. About 32 km from Denpasar city. That was a court place. Rich of ornaments and Balinese old Kamasan Painting. And to next place is Taman Giri, a building that describes 3 phase or three levels of life. Both are in same area. Also The Hindu temple with unique statue as my focus. Different with other temples in Bali. Around Taman Kertagosa we can find traditional textile market. Sells Endek (traditional ikat / hand woven). Do not be worry lot of food stall in traditional culinaire such as Serombotan, Klepon are sold here. Please come and get the experience of Klungkung.

Kertha Gosa "the place where the king meets with his ministries to discuss questions of justice". 300 yrd old Hindu temple. On the canopy, one can see scenes from Indian epic Mahabharat painted. It’s a Hindu Temple !!! The legend of Bhima finding his parents in hot water tub, in hell, rescuing them and taking to heavens, and the subsequent wrath of the demons are there to see. There is very well maintained museum too on the other side of the pond. Needs one hour plus, based on your appetite……

the best of all the semarapura historical buildings/temples/palaces. unfortunately the museum was closed (May 2021 they close on the weekends). free entry, can walk around all of it. the paintings on the ceiling are incredible. most of it restores d of corpse but it still has a real authenticity. the “downtown” corner where the palace is located is cozy, clean, walkable little part of the city that is best seen on foot. all other attractions are within walking distance but this is the highlight.

I that used to be a courtroom. It has very beautiful architecture and many detailed paintings, showing the different crimes and punishments that you get for them. If you do not follow the laws set by the gods honour, highly recommend visiting this place because it’s not a major tourist traction and it certainly should be.

Kerta Gosa Klungkung in Bali is a captivating cultural site. The intricately painted ceilings and historical significance make it a must-visit. The serene lotus pond adds to the charm. However, maintenance could enhance the overall experience for visitors🧚‍♀️

Play films with good quality, can add insight😎 (Original) Rapi dan bersih. Lumayan untuk bersantai, jalan jalan pagi. Kalau boleh saran, tempat hiburannya ditambah lagi, misal gedung bioskopnya, dihupin lagi. Putar film film yg qualitasnya bagus, bisa nambah wawasan😎

This is one of Klungkung’s landmark. Kertagosa is a historical building and used as traditional court in the past. Kertagosa’s entrance ticket was IDR 35.000 (if I’m not mistaken) and it covers others attractive places (Puri Klungkung - Museum Bajra - etc). Bring your hat and sunglasses because it is so hot. Nice place to takes pictures of oldies ambience in Bali, some people often use this place as their pre-wed shoot’s location.

Interesting place to visit, seems a lot less popular with tourists than some other spots around Bali - a lot of history here, but make sure you have a good guide to explain the history of the area.

Beautiful silent witnesses of the past. It has a museum across from it that is also worth to be visited. Reasonable entrance fee. Check all the paintings on the ceiling of Kerthagosa, make sure you get someone or a guide that actually understands the meaning behind them.
