We had group booking and conference at Meropa Hotel and we received the worst service from a woman called Chantel who the receptionist at Town Lodge. When we first approached her she had this rude and unwelcoming facial expression. We had difficulties with our bookings and she just had no time to assist us with the issue. With a rude face, she just told us to go back to the other reception area of the hotel, took out her phone went on WhatsApp, started smiling with her phone and left us at the reception area. When she finally came out of the room she had entered, we told her that we tired, our bags are heavy and we don't want to be going up and down. Can't she communicate with the other receptionist area to confirm if we are really booked on that side so we don't have to be send back and forth. She told us to just go to the other side. After resting we went to the other reception area just to be send back to her. While she was booking us in she still had that unwelcoming rude expression. When she was done she just threw the ID and Hotel card on the desk without telling us which side our rooms are. I had to ask one of the security as he was more approachable. All the people from my group who booked in at Town lodge all complained about Chantel. And I mean all of them and none of us approached her in a rude manner. Her rudeness was totally uncalled for. She needs to understand that she's working with people and needs to put on a friendly face when dealing with customers and be of assistance when customers are experiencing issues with booking. She needs to understand that as a receptionist she's the face of the hotel and mostly likely the first person customers talk to when they arrive. She must just work on her attitude.

Lovely place, beautiful landscape and lovely atmosphere. Love that the security is visible so car is safe. A great place overall even for families. Haven't slept there nor eat the food but hope to very soon.

Friendly staff, it's good for adult entertainment (gambling/casino) and the kids can be entertained as well. My niece and nephew enjoyed the train ride. The only thing that dampened my mood was load shedding but I sure was glad to find that they have back up power. Restrooms clean. Security officers are vigilant and I felt safe.

There is not much to do here. The restaurant is also not the best. Just order Ribs if you want to be safe

It was amazing, was assisted by a lady called Busi in the morning of Xmas eve when my phone fell into the pool. She made sure my gone worked again. The chef on that very morning made me a scrumptious omelet and French toast. I had a great morning overall. Thanks Meropa team for the hospitality xoxo

As today is a holiday, decided to take my kids to Meropa in preparation for their birthday celebration. Went to the kids side, we requested to view the area seeing that is still under construction,The cashier at the kiosk said we should go to the entrance., To my surprise the lady in green dress without a name tag said it is not allowed, we must pay to view the place, another guy there said he can accompany us but the lady rudely refused with an attitude. We left then my kids went back to the kiosk to buy popcorn and the cashier asked how did they find the place, which they told her the lady refused. She then asked the manager on duty which he agreed and the rude lady was asked to accompany them she bluntly refused saying'who? Me? Why' pathetic encounter. She did well that I was going to book for nonsense of service.

Great place but changing the toilets (slots/entrance) seats which are crumbling will go a long way to enhancing customer experience.

It’s a great place if you are a meat eater. If you are vegan there are only two options for dinner. I ordered the same meal two consecutive days and there was no consistency in the roasted salad. It was great day one and average in day two without the sauce in day two. I ordered nuts which were on the menu and they didn’t have them. I did appreciate that there was non dairy milk at breakfast. I wasn’t wowed by the stuff though except for the waitress named Mpho who was was not serving my table but saw the gaps and stepped in with a smile and a beautiful spirit of service, she was WOW! I did appreciate the cleanliness of the rooms and the place though.

There seems to be new management, it is no longer how it used to be 10years back(i stand to be corrected). I have been there couple of times also did my marriage shoot there, it's dry. If your not an events person, you will be stiff bored. The gaming area is no longer there. But it's still a cool place to go. I guess.

The Hotel staff are exceptional. Especially William who was friendly, efficient, professional and went the extra mile to ensure we had an excellent stay. There is a restaurant, pool, casino, all in the hotel. Value for money. The rooms are clean, floors could do with an upgrade but on the whole, very comfortable. Thank you all for a wonderful 2 days. Will definitely be back and will recommend 👌 Thanks William, I commend you on the excellent service received. 👍

The waiters were not around, and the food was awful. The entertainment area for the family needs a lot of TLC. I can't believe the arcade and they don't have the go carts anymore 😔

First day: Welcome was nice, no issues with check in. I was however disappointed with the food service, after ordering food at 19:00, I received my order after 21:30, It was most disappointing and I had to follow-up several times with the restaurant. The second and day onwards was much better. Rooms are clean, reception is friendly and welcoming, breakfast is not bad. I'd recommend if you don't require a lunch pack to be provided as they do not render that service. Also just note that there are no fridges in the rooms and the parking area is not shaded. The pool is a nice touch too.

In the middle of nowhere, a Moroccan style hotel. Decorated everywhere in a nice style. Rooms are not big but nice and cosy with most of your needs. Kasbah is the breakfast restaurant which is not hallal, so I was very limited in my choices which were ok. I tried the dinner restaurant which again is not hallal so, tried some seafood and veg pasta. Food is average but service is very slow. The pool is very nice but not well utilized. I think it is one of the best stays in Polokwane.

Unexpected for a Sun International Hotel. Rooms had no bottled water, no milk and skimpily stocked for coffee and sugar. Room had no fridge. The only restaurant in the facility had good food but service is slow, having waited an hour for food to be served. The only good part of the stay, was the friendly staff, as well as the buffet breakfast with outstanding service.

Great location with friendly staff!! Took the suit but was disappointed it did not have any gains or slippers not even bottled water. For a suite it's a let down. Then the restaurant HARVEST GRILL & WINE, was not impressed with the quality of food, good pricing but the main was sub par but starters were awesome. The included Breakfast at the hotel was more awesome than the meal at the restaurant haha.

I experienced by worse stay at Meropa Hotel during my 3 day book in. At the restaurant there was cockroaches that came out of the wooden strip against the wall whiles eating and crawled on the table, we called the manager on duty  Fungi and showed her and she just apologised. At the rooms we had an ant problem and reception provided doom to spray to kill the ants. The restaurant and hotel needs a pest controller to assist with the problem. This is truly affecting the service provided. The hygiene level is not up to standard.

Upkeep of non gambling related entertainment is very poor. The putt putt, go karts and kiddies play area all no longer open. Even the bird and reptile park is closed. Place has great potential but poor management.

Still a lot of work to be done especially on the entertainment side for kids along with wider leisure choice for adults. Lots of the facilities that there are were closed off. The mini zoo also empy. The staff are generally very courteous & friendly & helpful. The general surrounds well kept & clean. There's potential in the complex.

A small but well maintained Casino hotel. The breakfast buffet was lovely albeit a bit expensive. The staff extremely friendly and efficient. We were warmly welcomed and assisted in the casino and hotel. The area outside and inside clean and smartly decorated.

The place is really nice and maintained. However, apart from the casino area, the place has nothing to offer. No kid friendly/family entertainment. The reptile and bird park, miniature golf and go-kart are deserted :(

Great function area. Food a bit disappointing. Could not even cut the steak. The food was the same as every other venue in Polokwane. Expected a bit more finesse

Security gate not working with platinum card. Various gambling machines out if order. Rais'em poker table which we enjoy not working for 2 years now. No coke zero at bar. Other bar in smoking area closed. Screens at rolette not working. Ordered toasted sandwich and it was cold. Chips was raw. Poor management of place. Becoming a real third workd place. Got the african experience. Eish its broken like Eskom. Going the same route. No maintenance and poor management of facility.

The atmosphere and entertainment is fine, but the restaurants food is going down. Every time we go there and order a specific dish which I ordered on a previous occasion...the recipe changed and it tastes worse than before. The food there is seriously not good.

As we arrived , a man jumped the line by the security check, when I said excuse me , there's a clear line and about 10 people in line, he immediately turned it into a race issue , asking our little group , if we know Maropa at all an our kind will never win or be treated like equals at this institution and that we are not welcome there. This was witnessed by the security at the entrance who still allowed him to pass and were laughing and did nothing to assist us , then an older lady spoke up from the back of t⁰he line stating that it's nothing new. She informed our group that she gets harassed by other guests for cigarettes and gamble money from other guests, and when reporting the matter , they do little other than laughing And guess what , we had the very same treatment as the lady stated we experienced. The experience was unpleasant and I will rather gamble online before visiting your institution

My partner and our 6 year old had lunch at Marimba restaurant. We ordered 2 starters (snails and calamari), the snails were ok but they were served with a toasted burger bun on the side which is not an accompaniment you expect with a plate of snails, the calamari was store bought packet calamari you can buy at Pick n Pay and my son threw up after eating them as they were chewy and tasted really bad. We contemplated leaving after the starters but the problem is we had already placed our order for the mains so we decided to stay, for mains i had oxtail, she had lamb chops and our son had hake & prawns, the hake & prawns were alright and she didn't really enjoy the lamb chops and on my end i didn't enjoy the oxtail, the wine in the oxtail jus was overpowering and the meat was slightly burnt. I ended up coughing up over 1k for a combination of bad and below average food, perhaps a bad day at the kitchen for the chef on duty but i wouldn't recommend
