The road to these falls is a bit treacherous but it is worth the effort. The falls are impressive and there is a big, well maintained picnic area with ablution facilities. The entrance fee is R35 per person, but it is worth it.

I have been here 3 times. This instance it was flooding with heavy rains, amazing! Lots of benches, parking. The road is good, has been graded and not too many slippery rocks or puddles. There is a toilet at the site.

Beautiful hidden within the evergreen rainy forest. Breath taking, clean toilets, nice picnic area, to chill and enjoy with family. Hiking trails, spectacular view when driving to the waterfall.

Beautiful natural site Pity irresponsible people have resulted in no more swimming allowed. The staff collecting money at the gate are not the most presentable or informative. DON'T FORGET TO BRING CASH, FOR ENTRY

It's been on my bucket list for like 4 years...Finally got to see the falls...Drove like 500 odd kilosfrom home to get there....It was worth every minute spent to get der...The falls were in full full force...Cascading down with mighty force...thundering and smoking...Splendid...Spectacular....Awesome....what a sight...the trip was jus outa explaining...The management also deserve a hands clap for the excellent management and up keep of the park...I can't wait to visit again soon

The waterfall is beautiful but the place is not well maintained at all.. it could be a very amazing place but not maintained at all. It has a lot of people coming through it has all the makings of an awesome experience but I was kind of let down. The road is a gravel brace yourself for a long bumpy uncomfortable drive ascending and descending. Good luck

Entrance fee is now R45. Beautiful place to picnic and have a gentle hike. Relatively well maintained. However, not being able to swim is a huge letdown. Pro tip: if you do want to swim, hike further down the river where you will eventually find a large pool that is unguarded, and safer to swim in.

This was a lovely picnic and hiking spot. A great option for a short and easy mid-morning hike accompanied by a lunchtime picnic. Relatively well kept and free from litter, there are also toilets available which are clean and actually have toilet paper inside.

Paid the falls an impromptu visit and so glad we did. Even just the drive to the entrance is worth while....beautiful forested mountain road but take it easy, rocky in places! The falls have a lovely well-maintained picnic area with a clean bathroom 🚻 facility. Be careful - the rocks can be slippery and keep an eye on your little ones. R35 entrance fee....cash only please. Pack a picnic and immerse yourself in nature. You'll be glad you did! P.S. No swimming allowed

The falls are gorgeous! Was nice to spend an hour or two walking the trails and seeing the waterfalls! The volume of water had receded we were told so I'm guessing after good rain they are beautiful Noticed alot of people having picnics there! Could be a little better maintained, looked abit neglected but overall worth a stop if your in the area

Very scenic spot for walking, meditation, to have picnics. No alcohol allowed and no fires allowed, for obvious safety reasons.

A nice quick outing or a good picnic spot. Unfortunately the waterfall and streams have been cordoned off for safety reasons and this makes it a bit unsightly. Very clean and there are bathrooms and picnic tables. Entrance is R45 pp, kids free.

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy a braai with the family. Swimming is risky and children should always be supervised. Dont forget to take a walk on the hiking trail.

Absolutely beautiful waterfalls just a short walk from the parking area. Hiking trails are steep in areas but full of large indigenous and exotic trees. Definitely worth a visit.

Tough road but definitely worth the drive, the view of the falls as you drive up is amazing💯 Unfortunately the weather was bad,we couldn't do the hiking but we are planning to go back on a sunny day🤗🤗 Mind blowing views🤯🙌🏾

Wow it truly is amazing at this place, proposed there infront of it, there's a nice table for Picnics. R30 per person entrance However the roads are rough joh, definitely consider rather using a suv or 4x4, light vehicles not really advisable but it can be used but gotta drive carefully some of the roads are crazy rocky not sandy. But wow amazing place.

Extremely beautiful and relaxing place. It's quite a long way up the mountain with long unpaved roads, so if you are planning to go try to use an off-road car and if you have a low suspension car do not attempt to visit as your car can be badly damaged from the big rocks on the road. But if you make it all the way up the entrance fee is R30 for adults and free under 10 years of age. And it is definitely worth it

I am definitely going back and this time I'm taking my entire family. The scenery is out of this world, the drive on the mountain as you're going to the fall is interesting(but please don't use a small car as you won't enjoy the gravel road) I loved the picnic and braai area is it caters for everyone(young and old).

  • 5/5 Gerhard S. 5 years ago on Google
Very nice site, take a braai pack and some charcoal with. Well worth a visit. Take a walk down past the picnic site to below the falls

Great place for braai and family picnic with a great waterfall backdrop to any photos one might take. This is accompanied by the soothing flowing water into various pools and down some rocks.

  • 5/5 Marius F. 4 years ago on Google
Outstanding!!! A nature Gem. A short drive from the main road that lead through Magoebaskloof. Also a short walk with little effort, if any to the beautifull scenery, huge trees and the Debegeni waterfall. Very peacefull. There are two very safe rock pools in which you can enjoy and experience the ice cold and clean mountain water. There are a lot of tables, benches and build braai stands with grids to use for your braai or you can consider packing a hearty family picnic basket. There ia a ablution fascility should nature call. You should however stay within the embarked area since unfortunate people slipped on the very slippery rocks and steep slopes in the river and drowned in the strong current. Entrance fees are R 10 per person and R 10 per vehicle. This is a place you must visit and enjoy at least once in your life.

Picnic area, braai facilities, toilet facilities (bring toilet paper, they don’t always have) great for a hot day to cool off in the natural pools. Bring cash for entrance fee. Please be sure to use the bins provided and clean up when you are done ?

The place is very beautiful, I would visit it again if it wasn't for the safety concerns. I visited the falls on the 3rd January and the place was packed with happy looking people, only to later find out that a person fatally drowned there a day before. There are no life guards, no safety vests, no emergency kits; basically if you fall into the deep pools your life depends on a samaritan jumping in to save you. Admin warnings are not enough for such a place, more layers of controls are needed.

R30 per person to get in. Money well spent. There are toilets and braai facilities. Many people swimming in the rock pools and probably some of the cleanest water you will find: in fact it’s so clean that a hose is setup which lets you fill up your bottle to drink right from the falls. Quite a steep road getting in and out but no 4x4 required

Pathetic. No signs anywhere saying it's closed. We drove all the way up just to be told - "eeeeh it's closed cause people die here". They could at least have put up a sign somewhere stating that it's closed. They also have no intention of doing anything whatsoever about the situation. We were here many years ago - there were life jackets, lifeguards and a lot of staff around. Now there are three men, standing at the gate to tell you its closed - why not just one. It's not necessary for 3 people to tell you it's closed!!

The pond looks attractive and shallow but its actually deep and there’s some sort of vacuum inside the water. My cousin fell inside and when he was trying to get out the walls were to slippery for him to drag himself out and the vacuum inside kept pulling him down when he tried to swim up. To make things worse a Green mamba appeared inside the water. Luckily we were able to pull him out. This place is very dangerous, look up articles on the place. A couple of people have died.
