It’s not often that our tastebuds crave Asian food. Maybe it’s cause my wife’s Korean and she makes all of the Korean dishes for me BUT when we want authentic Asian food, whether it’s Indian, Korean, Japanese or Thai, there are a select few that we would recommend, often times helping friends pick through the proverbial weeds of bad restaurants. This, LAN Xang is such a place. Everything seems authentic, cared for, effort put into and the dishes are delicious. It’s not run of the mill, pour MSG and soy sauce and call it a day. Or have prepackaged sauces you just pour into the woks. We honestly feel this is a hidden gem in SWFL and don’t just listen to me, look at the photos! (Mine by the way)

Updating for a new visit: Well..back to Lan Xang Fort Myers..another great meal in the books, live music this time ..barely made it to happy hour (so at least , got one Cosmo for $6 ; )). Steamed dim sum was amazing (to the point I drove to Leaf Asian market and bought a bamboo steamer), cosmos are always delish (even better when they r on happy hour), Bobalicious roll was a delight (made w fresh salmon instead of tuna)..yum. Service was lovely 😊..after the dinner ..took a stroll 🚶‍♀️ through Royal palm square ..all this vegetation , fountains, water views did wonders on my tired soul. Can’t wait to go back to Lan Xang for some more dim sum 🥟 and sushi 🍣. — at Lan Xang Fort Myers. Lovely first experience at Lan Xang. I saw some pics in their FB page and decided to give it a try this Sunday. Chef courteously made the item that wasn’t on the menu-trip of hand rolls, spicy salmon, tuna and yellow tail..it was a freaking amazing , after that I could only eat half of their Kan Xang roll w tempura lobster..what a treat but could def be eaten alone as entree ..my plate was full…happy hr on Sunday? Heck yes..I had a cosmopolitan for $6 as well as great quality Long Island for the same price ! I shall return to such a fine establishment . Surroundings were sweet and worth of exploring: )

*PHO* = NOT GREAT! Will NOT be coming back for more. No amount of fixings will change the fact that it's not great broth and meat quality from the start. Sushi+apps were decent. Waitress was new and clueless about most things, as if she had ZERO training. Oh boy.... "Maybe" might come back around in a while? But plenty of other better, newer places to consider in the immediate area. Restaurant situated in a OLD [not cute, historic type old...] run down, strip mall. Lee County Homeless Coalition in the same plaza. ALOT of back packers moving thru. Better make sure to hide your stuff and lock your car kind of vibes.

Good food and excellent service. Easy to access and lots of parking available. The confort of the seatings should be improved however. Live music on Saturday evening.

Tried this place on a whim last week and have since returned 3x. The food is amazing and decently priced. 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and dessert was around $40! The service is SO fast. Genuinely was in and out in a little less than an hour. I can't recommend this place enough

Really great food at a great price. They were able to modify for food aversion. I was super impressed with the coconut rice. So good. Was pretty slow so didn't need a reservation

Ok Fort Myers keeps getting better and better! Aside from an amazing state and living in SWFL, we keep finding news places to eat at and are losing track. Buy Lan Xang is a definite stop again! Very large selection of Thai, Vietnamese, Lao and even Dim Sum! You can't go wrong here and the service is great, food comes out quick and fresh! Prices are very good! And they have Boba Tea. 👍👍👍👍

I absolutely love Lan Xang! So much so my wife and I don’t really go anywhere else for Thai/Lao cuisine anymore. One of the few places I’ve been too where they nail the spice level every time! I am extraordinarily picky when it comes to spice, in that very few places will TRULY bring the heat...well, this place does, and does it consistently. Each and every dish we’ve tried here has been wonderful and as we work our way through the menu it’s becoming harder and harder to pick a favorite! You can really tell these folks care about the quality of their food, as well as the presentation. The servers are all very nice and the prices are very reasonable. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Love this place. It's a bit tucked in and easy to miss, but the food here is fantastic. Generous portions and the dishes have just the right amount of kick.

There simply are not enough words to describe how out of this world magnificent the food from this place is. Truly. Vietnamise and Thai are some of my all time favorite cuisines. I come from California, where we get some of the best Thai and Vietnamese restaurants— this place is simply a gift from the food Gods themselves. Ever since I discovered it, I’ve been eating from there 4 times a week. I don’t even order the same meal… they have so many phenomenal dishes that I get something new every time and every single time it just exceeds my expectations over and over again. What a true gem this place is!!!

Very good food. The server we had was great. Soft spoken and very accommodating. Such a sweet soul. Shrimp summer rolls were good the only thing negative, I got a bit of shrimp tail in one. Which is not terribly bad I just ate around it. Thai tea was very good. Flavor was on point. I myself had the shrimp pho. Which was very good. There was a plentiful amount of shrimp in the large order (which next time, I’ll be getting a small.) My partner got, pad teriyaki with beef and chicken wings, which were priced really well for the amount. I honestly liked his more than mine just because the flavor was so amazing with the teriyaki and the wings were that old school style Asian wings. Super crispy and Huge. This was a very decent experience. And a very good place to eat.

Words cannot express how fantastic the food is at Lan Xang. I have not been this happy at a restaurant in a very long time. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food options, and shared her own favorites. She confirmed that the owners and cooks are all Laotian and Thai. They cook authentic, delicious food that I haven't stopped thinking about since. The Tom Kha soup was the perfect amount of sour, sweet and savory, and it was chock full of veggies and fresh herbs. The Laos Crispy Rice Wraps - my heart, these were unforgettable! I got them with tofu. The texture and taste were such that I couldn't stop eating them long after I felt full. They serve them with fresh strips of galangal (Thai ginger) that are crunchy & spicy, and crisp fresh lettuce. My husband loved his Drunken Noodle dish. His lychee juice was a unique offering you don't find at all Thai/Laos restaurants. I wish we lived in the area as we would go back again and again!

Had a great experience here. Staff was great and our waitress Karmen made us feel like we've been dining here for years. Our group has had Thai/Lao food in many different places throughout our travels and Lan Xang is at the top of the list. The flavors and fresh ingredients you cant beat. Recommend to anyone and will return in the future. Thanks!

I have eaten at Lan Xang a number of times but what has inspired a review this time is I'm just incredibly impressed. I believe Lan Xang is owned by Lao owners but they do it all- Lao, Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese. Typically this is a big red flag for me for any Asian restaurant because it's really difficult to be a master of all things and you lose quality on the individual dishes. I decided to gamble today and try their pad thai because I was really, REALLY craving some and so glad I tried it because it is amazing. Tangy sauce(not peanutbuttery) loaded with veggies and a generous heaping of tofu(most places aren't as generous) I can safely order it again and know I won't be disappointed. There are a ton of dishes on their menu I would like to still try but some of the ones I've tried that have been standouts include: Tofu Laab- it is herbaceous, texture experience and if you are wanting to try something new and Lao I think it's a great introductory dish. The cozy noodle soup instantly makes me feel better every time I order it. Thick, slurpy udon noodles in a warming broth is great if you want something filling but not heavy. Their lettuce wraps were delicious too! The tangy sauce and crunchy rice mixture with the protein is really delicious! I would say the veggie pho was just okay but I'm not convinced that some of their other Vietnamese dishes aren't spectacular. Their boba is always on point and I think usually freshly made( to the point they will make it fresh if they don't have it ready so be patient.) I am told(I don't eat meat typically) their sushi is great and they have a lot unusual roll combinations. Usually a safe bet time wise if you are order online I just did Uber eats and had it under an hour so it was still nice and hot. The restaurant has a nice ambience as well and really good vibe I think it's a great date spot. Ultimately you should try Lan Xang because it's not your run of the mill hibachi or just a bunch stir fried dishes asian restaurant. You can really try something new and they prepare the old favorites incredibly too! Their food is always fresh and prepared with quality and I will continue to patron them! Keep making yummy food!

Lan Xang Restaurant was absolutely amazing. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The service was great, and the atmosphere was perfect! I ordered the Shrimp Pho and spring rolls. The cuisine tasted authentic and was the best I have eaten in this area. Our waiter was super sweet and we got a chance to meet the owner and learn more about the culture and food. I definitely recommend this lovely hidden gem.

The food was not very good quality and was overpriced… I have never left a negative review in my life and I do realize that this is not a Michelin starred restaurant, but dear me, I also think that you can expect some sort of standard when you go out to eat. Unfortunately, the standard at this restaurant was very poor.

We've been looking for good Thai in Ft Myers and are so happy to have found this. I've always seen it when at Ft Myers school of music and wondered. I'm always in search of good pad Thai and Lan Xang didn't disappoint. It's the first good pad Thai I've found since we moved here. Also had the Krab rolls. Very tasty. We'll be back for sure!

We had tried this place through a friend who frequents here. Was amazing!!! So ordered the same thing for a special dinner and ordered spring rolls and asked for hot mustard- we didn’t know that hot mustard was not a Thai thing and certainly meant no disrespect. We received this message on the box which we thought might have been a cute way to educate us- until we tasted the pad Thai- we asked for level three bc that was what we had had twice before at my fiends place, but when we received it was too hot to eat. We wondered if this restaurant was very angry at us asking for hot mustard. Even my friend said it was never that spicey before. We ordered vegetable fried rice and totally get there was a misunderstanding- we wanted it the way they make it- we picked for extra veggies option on the dash app and asked if the extra veg could be onions and eggs(I know that eggs aren’t veg But there was not button for that. We got all 13$ of fried rice with big onions and egg only. Totally get that that was an obvious misunderstanding bc the app says extra veg but if you clarify what extra veg it gets confusing. It was the whole thing. We didn’t mean to insult anyone with the spicy mustard request. We thank you for the education on spicy mustard and spring rolls are not of your culture. The last two times we had your pad Thai was the best thing ever. Don’t know if this restaurant was really angry at us bc of the result of the rest of the food. We may try again in hopes of the first two times. It was amazing. Just please know- do not order hot mustard with the spring rolls. We certainly won’t make that mistake again. But will continue to try all kinds of cultures for food.

A lovely little place for Thai, Lao, and Vietnamese food. Has great Thai tea to accompany their lunch specials. When they say spicy, they mean it!

This was truly extraordinary food, Best we’ve had outside of Thailand. The salmon and banana leaf was quite unusual as well as incredibly delicious, we also loved the drunken noodles, the curry, the coconut soup with tofu, A delicious dish with a green vegetable that was pretty plain can’t remember the name and we also got a Vietnamese dish that was lemon grass from a chili and a papaya salad everything was outstanding.

Absolutely amazing food and service. I went with my 4 children and it could be sometimes difficult and they gave us the best customer service we have ever experienced. We absolutely loved the food and the restaurant is beautiful. The menu is full of options and we all ate a little of everything. I had the Pho with my boba tea and it was delicious. I highly recommend them. Great location and atmosphere.

Atmosphere was meh. Server was relatively clueless as to what was going on the entire time we were there. Food was pretty good, but not good enough to return anytime soon. Chicken soup was very salty and contained little chicken. Sushi quality and taste varied greatly from piece to piece. Fried rice didn't have any flavor. Nothing else really stuck out as a "must try" or a "stay away". It was fairly average all around. It'd be a tough sell to come back.

We love this restaurant! Every single item we've ever ordered has been delicious... and the best drunken noodles in the whole city! Lovely staff, good location, just all around one of my favorite restaurants.
