Delicious hibachi meal!! Will be coming back!! The waitress went above and beyond in welcoming my family. We are new to the neighborhood and out of the kindness of her heart she offered recommendations of the best schools in town and places to visit. Took time out of a very busy service to speak to us - it was definitely full-house packed that Friday!! One of the managers also saw us off; what a kind gesture! Coming back not only for the food but for the friendly, neighborly service!! Thank you!!

This place is a hidden gem! We came on a Friday night, and they weren’t super busy. The service was AMAZING, the staff were all so kind and tried to create the best experience. We had edamame, tako yaki, dancing dragon roll, hot girl roll, and the chicken hibachi dinner. Every single dish was incredible, and their sushi selection is very creative with so many options. The restaurant is incredibly clean and feels super cozy! We can’t wait to come back and recommend it to all of our friends!

A place you MUST try! Absolutely delicious food every time! You can't go wrong if you order sushi rolls or if you order the hibachi. It's all delicious! The wait staff is always prompt and courteous. I've never even had an order prepared incorrectly. It's perfect each time I go! Their lunch specials are really clutch too, good price and good portions. Highly recommend.

Waited to be sat just now, and three servers saw me waiting. No one came to help. Instead two of them were talking at the register and laughing. I waited for a good while. I ended up leaving, and I won’t return. If they would have just acknowledged me and said they’d help in a moment or SOMETHING then I would have been way more understanding. The restaurant wasn’t busy. I used to come here often, but I’ll pass next time.

A fairly good lunch special, not bad!! My husband said they have the best house sake he's ever had.

Cute little restaurant! Okay service... food came out timely. Definitely a bit on the expensive side, but the portions were huge. Sushi was superb!

This place was awesome! We had a very kind and friendly waitress. The atmosphere was very serene and pretty with cherry blossom branches painted on the walls. The calamari was a plentiful potion for 2 with 10 rings and was delightfully crunchy! The chicken yakitori was very fresh and hot with 2 hefty skewers of grilled chicken and green onions. The sushi and sashimi was the real star of the show, though. You get 3 pieces of the sashimi you order. The salmon sashimi was cut nice and thick and delicious and smooth, and the eel was buttery and melted right in your mouth! We got the Samurai roll and the Tokyo Roll. They were beautifully put together and were structurally sound, didn't fall apart when picked up with chopsticks. We had a lovely time and I look forward to the next time we stop by!

A decent east Asian restaurant with good sushi options and Hibachi. This does not have a live hibachi station so the name is misleading. Also they had some availability issues with certain sushi items.

We ate here almost every day while in Birmingham. The food, service, and prices were always great. Their lunch specials were perfect.

This was my first time eating here and I was invited by my cousin for his birthday dinner. The menu had plenty of options and we all enjoyed our dishes and each other's dishes. The atmosphere was pleasant and chill, and the waitress was nice and patient.

READ ALL OF THIS! myself and a friend dined here last night from 7:45 to about 8:30. the food was super good, but the service was horrible. i am not someone to leave a bad review on a restaurant, but i have never had such horrible service before. the restaurant was not busy; there were only 2 other tables (and 2 or 3 servers). we had to flag down or get up and get our server in order to get a refill and the check/to go boxes. i actually made direct eye contact with my server, while asking for help. she completely ignored me and continued doing her side work. we didn’t leave a tip, mind you i’ve worked in the service industry for years and completely understand if you ignore your guests and don’t do anything other than bring out their food, no tip should be left. they came out TO MY CAR and hunted my friend down for her to leave a tip. i explained to the server that her service was absolutely horrible, she proceeded to give me a nasty look and go back inside. i definitely recommend the food, go for pick up if you’re going to this place. the food is worth it. but the service? horrible. do not dine in here. just take it home.

Ask for Ada if you go! She's kind, fast, and efficient! Took my mother and we had a wonderful meal. Appetizers were hot and delicious, and the sushi and sashimi was fresh! I would recommend this place if you want a good meal and dining experience!

I’ve lived in Birmingham my whole life, and Okinawa hands down has the best hibachi. The sushi is also very very good. The service is always great and everyone is very nice. My wife and I eat here often and we love it!

No complaints, I love Okinawa! Definitely a hidden gem. The Tiffany roll and the hibachi shrimp fried rice are my favorite menu items. The restaurant is clean, food is always made fresh, parking is available, indoor and outdoor dining are also available, and there’s a generous amount of seating. Note: if you’re looking for a hibachi restaurant where the food is prepared in front of you, that is not a service they offer.

This place is a great lunch and dinner place ate Dinner 20230205 and Lunch 20230209 and it was fantastic. This place is definitely a 5 star in my book. The service was great and the sushi was rolled just right. The hibachi is cooked just right as well. Service was on a good rotation to make sure all needs were meet. The price is comparable to other restaurants as well. If you looking for a good meal stop on by and grab a bite to eat.

This is a hidden gem! Okinawa has been one of my favorite places for lunch and commonly order their bento boxes which are well proportioned. They have a pleasant atmosphere and great service all the time.

Highly recommend Okinawa! I went during lunch time and had amazing service and food. The fried shrimp appetizer was great and the salmon hibachi was very filling, for a discounted lunch price!
