This is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a few minutes in nature. Bring your binoculars and your camera, because there is always something to see.

Very cool place six mile cypress area..very cool on a hot day.. my son and I walked the loop and learned some interesting information..

I didn't see a wood duck at wood duck pond, but I saw a wood stork...not even close.

Wood Duck Pond is often the best place in Six Mile Slough Preserve for wildlife. In our visits we almost always see both Green Herons and Black-crowned Night Herons. We have also seen Anhinga, Alligators, Limpkin, Turtles, River Otters, and even some Wood Ducks. Due to it almost always having something to see they put a volunteer with a scope there often to help people see the wildlife and learn something.

One of my quick getaways for a morning or afternoon. I enjoy all of the nature this wonderful place has to offer; it is so peaceful and I could honestly sit here for hours and that says a lot because I normally cannot sit anywhere for very long. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some time alone, with family and or friends. Bring something to stay hydrated and to be safe it's always good to keep a snack handy in places like this because time does escape here while you're enjoying it.

Six Mile Cypress is a hidden gem in Fort Myers for a 2.00 parking fees you're going to have a great time.

Beautiful boardwalk to the pond very peaceful. Entire preserve is well maintained and staffed. A must do for visitors.
