We
have
been
frequenting
the
Oasis
Restaurant
for
over
a
decade.
We
have
always
been
patient
as
they
have
dealt
with
hurricanes,
Covid,
staffing
issues,
changes
in
management
and
numerous
other
challenges.
During
these
years,
it
has
not
been
unusual
to
have
to
wait
for
a
half
hour
after
ordering
for
our
food
to
make
it
to
our
table.
But
today
was
particularly
bad
between
waiting
over
45
minutes
with
no
apologies
or
explanation
other
then
“They
are
cooking
your
corned
beef
hash
‘well-done’
.”
That’s
it.
Nothing
more
other
than
attitude.
It
doesn’t
take
an
hour
to
cook
a
breakfast.
And,
during
this
extended
wait,
tables
that
had
been
full
of
diners
when
we
ordered,
they
had
departed,
new
parties
had
arrived
and
ordered
and
they
we
enjoying
their
breakfasts.
The
waitress
began
to
avoid
us
and
when
we
finally
managed
to
get
her
attention
and
we
inquired
as
to
what
was
taking
our
order
so
long,
all
she
said
was
that
they
were
cooking
my
order
“well
done”
and
she
walked
away
from
us.
We
did
something
we
had
never
done
in
the
60+
times
we’d
been
there,
we
got
up,
walked
to
the
receptionist
and
complained
about
the
service
and
our
long
wait,
paid
for
our
beverages
and
departed.
We
never
got
an
apology
or
any
attempt
to
rectify
the
situation.
Sadly,
after
a
dozen
years,
we
say
goodbye
to
the
Oasis.
