Nice events take place here on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month. Art walk and Music Walk respectively. But despite the free speech please tell me why oh why do you allow religious fanatics force heysus on us during these events. Please stop it. Thanks. They were louder than the bands and 4 of them with big signs. This is hardly the place to force religion down on us.

A fun place to kill an afternoon or evening. Lots of happy hours, restaurants, shops, waterfront, and even a free outdoor concert when we went!

This area is filled with restaurants and a few local shops! There is not much to do in the way of museums or galleries, but it’s super cute for a night out or drinks!

Edison & Ford Winter Estates is one of my favorite places to visit - any time but especially at Christmas! Not only is the museum fascinating and informative there is nothing quite like getting to see Edison's actual lab or Ford and Edison's winter homes. It truly is a glimpse into the past and personal lives of these men and their families. The grounds are just lovely as well. And if you come at Christmas in the evening for the holiday light tour...it's magical! The homes are decorated so beautifully for Christmas. And all the Christmas lights make the homes even more stunning! If you love history, old homes, architecture, or just that old Florida feel - this is a must see in my opinion.

The River District that's a nice shopping area with a nice selection of stores and it makes you want to drive in and out. It is on a busy route so once you're in to the business district, you can take your time looking for a place to park looking for a place to shop and looking for the store you're looking for. most of the buildings are nicely presentable and has a nice selection of stores this area is quaint and unique and it's a nice place to shop and visit. I'm sure the locals are real pleased with this shopping district. and the prices are in line with most of the shopping centers in the area.

We really enjoyed our day here at the museum. The staff is exceptionally nice and helpful. One of our favorite things was the feeding and petting of sting rays (they don’t sting!). There is a cool globe shaped screen called “Science on a Sphere” that illustrates climate, airliner flights, hurricanes, etc, that is intriguing. We watched 3 short 3D movies that were interesting. There is so much for kids and teenagers. They do not have a cafe, but do have a nice gift shop

Definitely a great area to explore! Great for shopping and discovering very cool boutiques, activities (calusa planetarium, butterfly estates, coastal Dayz & millenial microbreweries...) lots of delicious restaurants to eat out at like Capone's or Ford Garage, also great for having some drinks as there are bars everywhere, the social house called Soho by the locals is very popular, great place! It's also great for partying in the evening, lots of bars and clubs, and if you simply want a cocktail with a great view of the Caloosahatchee river at sunset there are plenty of places such as the firestone skybar & the luminary hotel bar. There is Art night every first Friday of every month and also music night(live music) every third friday of every month, and it's all on first street and around it! Have fun!

Very shabby:( . Most of them are restaurants. Empty on a Sunday and dead on a Monday. You can't even walk on the streets, very deserted. I recommend the Ford Garagem - excellent!!!

My wife and I really enjoyed this museum and grounds. The cost was $25/person. I downloaded the Edison app and went through a self guide tour. The app was impressive, easy to use and made the tour that much better. Considering Henry Ford and Thomas Edison were two of the biggest innovators in US history, it was a wonderful exhibit.

Amazing place! Definitely worth a trip even if it is to simply view this exotic locale. The plants for sale are impeccable, and they have some pots for sale as well. The museum tour is worth the time if you have it. Learned so much about the area that I had no idea about before! Informative and fun for most ages, but especially cool for locals who want to know just a little bit more about our rich Florida history. Recommended highly!

We went to see Clyde Butcher’s photography exhibit on Cuba which was super and had the extra thrill of having this educational museum to ourselves. We very much enjoyed the personalized presentation on the planets by the nice young man in charge of teaching. They have a very good exhibit on the Calusa Native people. The aquarium area is fun and petting the stingrays great for kids and adults. The lady at the registration desk was so very nice and helpful. Check out the section on hurricanes...including the wind tunnel‼️

Really fun place to come especially for the kids. The touch tanks are pretty cool, you can pet sting rays ect. The staff was exceptional and knowledgeable and all around nice. We had a great time here and I would suggest to anyone that has not been here already to come check them out, definitely worth it!

This is the Tower Clock in River District at Downtown Fort Myers, Florida. Located at Edwards St. Just in front of the Caloosahatchee river and Luminary Hotel. This area was just beautifully recently remodeled and then came Ian. I took these pictures a couple days after hurricane Ian hit southwest Florida. This tower watch is still up, strong and gorgeous.

We did the self-guided tour. We downloaded the app, grabbed our earbuds and headed to the estates. It was a wonderful tour where we could wander at our own pace, read the historical signs along the path and listen to the audio. About 95% of the tourists complied by wearing masks. The landscape and homes were beautiful. The museum was also interesting and included in the tour as well as the lab. It was my first time to see a banyan tree in person; it was incredible!

It is a great facility if you only plan on going once and don’t have children under 5 their kids zone is shut down the displays haven’t changed in over a year and it was not worth getting a membership. I requested a refund or an extension since for 10 of my 12 month membership offered nothing that I had been told when signing up. I understand covid has made things difficult but if you can’t provide a service you should offer fair I compensation to for what they can’t provide.

Lots of unique shops and restaurants. Very pet friendly. We had a very nice afternoon just walking around taking it all in. The Ford Garage was interesting. An old car on a lift over tge bar and tire sinks with gas nozzle water spouts! Loved it!

Loved it!! You don't have to be a history fan to appreciate and enjoy this wonderful spot. What an amazing pair of men - the things they invented on their own and together - incredible. Very well-kept site, really interesting museum with so many exhibits and a documentary movie. Lovely gardens to walk, you can see both homes from their surrounding porches (you cannot go inside them but you can see very well from outside). Gift shop and flowers, plants for sale there also. Highly recommend for adults, I think kids would get bored too quick.

The last time I visited the Edison Estate, the Ford home was still in private hands. It has since been purchased by the city and is part of the tour. We got there kind of late in the afternoon so ended up not seeing everything out spending as much time on the exhibits as I would have liked. You really need around three hours to walk through at your own pace. There is a "guided" tour through the app that you have to download from Google or Apple depending on your device.

This place was alright. Not as cool as I had hoped. The aquarium area was neat with the fish. The space zone was pretty big , but it was the same thing- there were like 20 of the space "game". The upstairs had a pretty neat giant globe and they explain all the planets which was cool. But i did, honestly think thst the price of admission was too high for what you got. My 9 year old was satisfied with the visit, so if you have kids that age it is geared alot towards that age

The renovation took several years, but worth the wait. The Sidney Burne Davis building houses a gallery. The gallery rotates shows, music, well done. The new ampitheater at the basin is gorgeous, in front of the Luminary Hotel. In fact, we caught the Pabo Cruise, Rosada Project concert here earlier this month. Great show, venue, fun time. We come to the River District the first Friday of each month for Art Walk, the third Friday of month for Music Walk. Both are well worth the visit, fun time, people. Hurricane Ian took out many of the shops, storefronts, but could not take out the party. Enjoy!
