Mobile home park Retirement community

🫤 Was going to buy there till I mentioned my 8 year old great grand daughter spends Saturday nights with me and we were told she could not stay overnight. He said homes in there were for 2 occupants only and the park would not allow. He lost a sale because my grand daughter comes first.

Be careful here. The salesman who showed me a few properties here was initially helpful and considerate. I am single and at the time was 59. I was going to pay cash and had fallen in love with one property in particular. I was also upfront with him about my developmentally disabled daughter who lives with me and was 28 at the time. She cannot live independently. I went in a day later to give him a purchase offer and background check fee. His co worker left the office and he took a deep breath and began a barrage of questions about my finances and insinuated that my partner would not be allowed to stay overnight more than one night per month etc. I had never mentioned any relationship to him. I was single at the time. I was so insulted but calmly took my check and walked out. Looking at the secretary as I left it was almost as though she knew how I had been treated. They’re looking for couples’ retirement and pensions. Not sour grapes but I’m glad it happened-you pay for the living space but you lease the postage stamp you live on. The lease fee increases every year. I cannot imagine what it is with the prices of gas increasing passed to garbage removal etc. If you’re ok with living in tight quarters and paying increasing annual fees and then having people tell you when family and friends can visit-then these are the places for you. I’m just a simple hard working person trying to find sunshine for my daughter and me. He was out of line.

I reside in the community. Beautiful common areas: lakes, pools, picnic grounds. An abundance of social activies: monthly dances, shows, poolside entertainment. Social clubs from A-Z: various card games, art, craft, veteran clubs.... tennis & pickleball courses, shuffle board, bocce to name a few.

We purchased our home in December long distance from NH and had an amazing experience with Jen Bushold. Jen helped us every step of the way and was available whenever we had questions or concerns.Jen is professional, knowledgeable and passionate about what she does. I would recommend Jen if you are considering a move to beautiful Ft. Myers !!!!

Beautiful gated community! Reasonably high security. We definitely take comfort in knowing our grand parents are in Jamaica Bay. Very clean with amazing amenities & tons of activities!

I loved JB until Cove bought the park. The land fee for a new owner is now $1450.00! I paid 810.00 only five years ago! I just closed on my home and the agent, Sheri, was friendly until I question her on some closing costs. Then she got condescending and rude. I would not recommend anyone buying into this village it is not a good deal anymore.

The guards at the entrance to Jamaica Bay are Terrific! They are all attentive, engaging & polite. We especially enjoy seeing 'D' (I think that's his name). He ALWAYS has a smile & takes the time to greet us, & others, Everytime. Even during the times cars start arriving at the gate enmass, he remains attentive to getting each car thru the gates w/out incident while still smiling & greeting everyone. Thank you 'D', your work ethic & diligence does not go unnoticed.
