Just good people cooking up and serving good food. Hidden gem. Everything made from scratch. Haven't had a bad thing there. This was them cooking up and providing our veterans with a Thanksgiving meal. Kudos!

I wish I could give it 10 stars. I went with my fiancée this morning and he had today’s special: the biscuits and gravy platter with eggs and potatoes. Everything was great. I had the spinach croissant, cucumber tomato salad and a bowl of fresh cut fruit which was actually (and surprisingly) freshly cut. It had blueberries, bananas, strawberries and oranges in it. For dessert we had the chocolate and orange cheesecake which was huge and extremely rich. This is the only place we’ll be going for breakfast from now on. The service was excellent, the ambience was very cute and comfy.

This place is a gem! The dude at the front of the house, Tony, is super friendly and charming, and the food itself is excellent. Not only is it served quickly (but not too quick, you know?), but it's also really reasonably priced. Getting to the restaurant area is a bit strange, as it's located in the middle of an old retirement home, but just follow your nose and you'll be fine. I saw someone mention here they felt misled by the menu saying fresh squeezed OJ and then it came in a Sun Harvest bottle. Sun Harvest is a local brand (seriously, it's like ten/fifteen minutes from the restaurant) and it's easily the best OJ I've had. Oh, and the coffee is actually good, too. It's not just burnt bean water like most restaurants of this style. I cannot recommend this place enough. The food is fresh and delicious, the portions are generous, the guys who run it seem really cool. This is exactly the kind of local business we should all be supporting.

This is a hidden gem! What a fantastic place to go and have an amazing meal!! Such wonderful people who make you feel at home, in a whimsical and comforting atmosphere, they are just waiting to make you incredibly delicious food! I feel like I have missed out by not having ate here before now.

Absolutely positively the coziest and friendliest place in all of Southwest Florida! Now... Let's talk about the food . Absolutely everything is homemade in house. The specialty is a Belize BBQ pork used in the number of concoction recipes. And the baked goods are baked every morning. Get here early, or items sell out. FRESH!! The Gathering Place is going to become a go-to eatery for us! Well done Gathering Place team!

I absolutely adore this place. It's tucked away in a place I didn't think I'd find a restaurant, but the unusual location matches this unusual find. First, it's adorable filled with many different types of patrons. Everyone working there is like your bff, you just feel at home. Then the food, the food is amazing. It's not your everyday diner. It's unique selection of sandwiches, salads and bowls make you want to try everything. No one left hungry or couldn't find something that they didn't find delicious. Then there's the desserts. They are amazing! From the "tagalongs" to white chocolate blueberry cheesecake to pineapple bacon turnovers, everything is an indulgent delight. If you want a fun time, delectable food and to be treated like you're family.. this is your place.

So don't let the building scare you off (it used to be part of a nursing home and now it has a spa, masseuse, nail tech, etc)... I've been seeing it as I don't live too far and wondered what the food was like per the reviews... I am soooooo glad I stopped by. The aesthetic is a vibe. The food a vibe. Everything! The whole staff is so sweet. My server was the absolute sweetest 🥰🥰🥰 the owner was also so friendly! I got the BBQ pork tostada... and they have sun harvest OJ there. 😍😍😍 I will definitely make it a habit to come back and try their desserts and more of the menu. Please go because you won't be disappointed 💙

We were visiting from Salt Lake City, and we found The Gathering Place on Google. We visited the restaurant because it had a decent review (4.8).The service was slow and the food rancid. They actually served me hash browns that were charred. I don’t normally write reviews, but I wouldn’t take my dog there. We are not doing the public a service unless we protect them from places like that by staying pro active and speaking out. Even if their breakfast was mid level, which it was not, you do not serve burned potatoes- end of story. I had a bad vibe when I walked into the place, being a former nursing home and all, but I gave them the Benefit of the by trusting the Google review. But it was the service and the food, that seems to be on life support, that sealed their fate with me and my three family members. You can’t progress with old ideals, tired reputations, and bad food. Sorry. You gotta keep your game face on to stay in the game. Billy-Keep in’ it real.

One of my favorite restaurants in the US! So excited to find such a unique and wonderful place. Food is so fresh and delicious. Looked all over Fort Myers for a good lunch place and found the same menu all over town. This is the only place with a unique menu. Love the owners and waitstaff was so friendly/great service. They really make you feel like you're having a meal at home. You'd never in a million years know there's a restaurant where it is but that added to my excitement to find such a good place to eat. You're in the right place when you drive through a neighborhood and turn into an office building lot, just go straight back and you'll see the sign.

Today was our first time visiting The Gathering Place. Our food and service was excellent! We are foodies and appreciated the deliciousness and creativity that was put into their menu. After interacting with one of the owners named Tony, and watching the very special connection between the customers and staff, we realized that this place was very unique. We cannot wait to visit again to enjoy the camaraderie and try other menu items! … Mike and Mary

I had a great experience with their catering. The price was good and food was fantastic. My husband and I tried them out for a breakfast date, too. The prices, again, were good and we were never without coffee (yummy flavored coffee of the day). We tried food/ingredient pairings outside of our "norm" and are so glad we did. We will be back!

We went to the Gathering Place on the advice of a friend that stumbled upon it during her stay here in SW Florida. We enjoyed our Breakfas a Cali Burrito plate, Biscuits and Sausage Gravy with eggs and potatoes and 2 Coffees. It was a little different finding it, navigating how to order and how to pay, etc. but it was a good time.

So.. the food was good and the owner/ manager was awesome! However it is located in what I think is a nursing home so the vibe is a bit unique and not really our cup of tea for a brunch date. 🤷‍♀️

The food is delicious and you can’t leave without taking some of the fresh pastries to go. We had a honey pear bear claw and a slice of lemon berry pie that were to die for. The vibe makes you feel like you’re eating with friends, ones with a great sense of humor!

Excellent cafe! Tie dye shirts, kooky interior decorating, EXCELLENT coffee and avocado in half the things on the menu. I mean it basically screams hippies. I love it! Very cozy and laid-back, and the food was delicious.

This Bistro/Bakery is in the center of an office bldg. Follow the signs like a treasure map and Voila ... Food was amazing, creative and delicious. Comped a lemon chocolate turnover to die for. Owner/Staff were really friendly and attentive and whole place vibe was comfortable and felt like visiting an old friend. Highly recommend and will return.

My girlfriend and I tried The Gathering Place out for brunch today. At first we weren't sure we werrle at the right place. After walking into the building, we asked the receptionist at the main entrance where it was, and she pointed us in the correct direction. After finding it, it turned out to be nice and quaint. We were able to sit down immediately, and a waitress took our order. Later, we were serviced by a waiter and I enjoyed the banter. The staff all seemed pretty friendly. I ordered the Western Scramble, and my girlfriend ordered the eggs and meat croissant. It tasted good and it was fresh. You can't beat the price either. This is a fun little establishment.

Strange location, but walk in. Trust me. Used to be a nursing home 30 years ago and now the suites are rented out to businnUnique menu, I love the options! I am not a fan of traditional breakfast so this place is my cup of tea. Seeing the lunch menu, I can not wait to come here for lunch. Holy waffle. I had the caramel apple and cinnamon waffle and it was my favorite. Rice and beans for my side was delicious too.

Anyone who doesn't give this place 5 stars is kidding themselves. The Gathering Place is one of my favorite hidden gems in Fort Myers. The breakfast fajitas were just amazing and who would have guessed they have better beans then even my favorite Mexican restaurant. Between the excellent service and friendly charm, The Gathering Place has definitely become one of my favorite places to go for breakfast in Fort Myers. Please give it a try

In the past six months I have become a "regular" at this very special restaurant. There are many reasons for my patronage, but I must say that it is the friendliest, most entertaining breakfast and lunch spot in all of Fort Myers! The food and homemade desserts speak for themselves. Delicious and unique, just like my lovely friends running The Gathering place. I would also suggest that you check out their catering menu. I recently had a birthday party for two of my friends and they did a spectacular job seeing to my orders. I even ordered the birthday cake there! Exceptional💜

This a really nice private owned breakfast and lunch restaurant with a very lad back appeal. It's tucked away in a previous assisted living complex that has a lot of locally owned business. The food was very good and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Wish I could give Shawn and Tony 1000 stars! This place is great and Shawn and Tony are a delight to work with. We are from 1000 miles away and had no idea of where to host a morning after the wedding breakfast for 80 guests. I found them online and the location was good. Tony and I communicated via phone and texts. They customized things to what we wanted and they nailed it! Everything was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend Shawn and Tony’s Kitchen.

I highly recommend; the food is superb, some of the best I've had at any restaurant. The dessert is addicting!! The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent. Side note: the water is absolutely phenomenal, a lot of other places just can't seem to get their drinking water right. Stop by if you're looking for a good meal!!
