I called 8 different fishing charters in the Fort Myers area and I asked them all the same question..... "I know the redtide has been bad on the fishing and everything is catch and release but are you catching fish?" Everyone I called said I can get you on fish and it isn't that bad...... But Captain Wes at FishSkinner's said to be honest I am not sure it is really bad and the redtide has been very hard on everyone and everything here!!! Talk about honesty!!!! We booked a trip with them because of that and we told him let see what happens, and we do not catch fish you can show us some sights. Well he put us on fish on 9-11-18 between the two of us we caught 17 fish! We also seen Manatees, Dolphins, Bull-sharks and had a great time. We will book with Fishskiiner's again honesty goes a long way for us. Thank you Captain Wes for a great day!

Best fishing trip ever! Worth every penny for the experience. He makes sure everyone on board has a good time whether novice or expert angler. He definitely knows the waters and everyone was catching fish on our trip. Will be calling him again, no doubt.

Wes was super nice. However, we had 6 guys and between 6 of us we only caught 6 total fish. It took at least an hour of our time to get to the spot and catch the bait. Fun experience since we had never done that before. But for sure not worth the amount of money we spent. Disappointing. Then had to quit early to ride back 30 minutes also. Again Wes is a very nice guy. It could have just been a bad fishing day. There should be some money coming back for those days. You pay to catch fish.

My Fiancé and I just got off the water, after a fun day with Capt. Wes of Fish Skinner Charters. Capt. Wes was a wealth of knowledge and worked very hard to show us a good time. As a charter boat Capt myself on Lake Erie, it was nice to see how attentive Capt Wes was to Brittany, helping her catch her first redfish and tarpon. It's the little things that go a long way on the water and Capt. Wes was great. I would highly recommend him to anyone who asks.

My family and I recently booked a fishing charter with Capt. Wes with FishSkinner Fishing Charters. He was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly where the fish were. He even filleted our catch for us for dinner that night! We have two kids and he was great with them, extremely patient and entertaining. Went in the morning with my two brother inlaws and two nieces and we cought fish all day 4 hours of fun. Me and my two nieces couught black tiped sharks.

Capt Wes does his best to make sure you catch fish. We caught permit, snook, Spanish mackeral, San bar shark. His web site is user friendly. I would recommend fish skinner charters.

Wes is great, the results speak for themselves, he helped my two boys and I catch 8 permit fish on a 6 hour fishing trip. I highly recommend him, it was unbelievably great! We also saw sharks, Dolphins, turtles, leopard rayes, and barracudas which was a great bonus.

We had a fantastic time fishing with Capt. Wes on Saturday. We caught kingfish, cobia, tripletail, shark, and snapper. Capt Wes of FishSkinner charters was waiting for us at the dock all loaded up with fresh bait and ice. We went out into the gulf and some mangrove areas and caught a variety of fish. Capt Wes was very patient and helpful with the beginer (me) and also gave advanced hints to the experienced fishermen in our group. Back at the dock, he quickly filleted the keepers for us. Terrible conditions out but Capt Wes went out and caught bait before we showed up. He then took us to a couple of different spots out of the 30 mph winds where we caught some pretty nice fish. Me and my cousin caught some personal bests. Capt was funny but quiet and really knows what he was doing. Great Capt. I can't wait to come back and fish with him again!!!

Wes exceeded my families expectations!!!! I have a die hard fisherman for a husband so it was a given he would take the family out fishing. Myself and daughters aren’t totally passionate about it but can hang. Wes did not disappoint! He accommodated to everyone and was able to read the mood and kept us all entertained despite our varying interests. Sunshine, dolphins, manatee searching, and yes- fish. Lots of fish. The variety we caught was INCREDIBLE and his knowledge blew my mind. He knows his stuff like the back of his hand. Educational AND action packed. My husband left giddy after his huge catch. Captain, and owner, Wes was fantastic. Coming from Minnesota, we didn't know a lot about the local Florida fishing scene. We went out with Wes on the first day of our vacation, and he told us all about what to catch and how to catch it, so we could fish on the dock and out of kayaks where we were staying. He even brought up our rental home's location on his equipment, and told us where to fish if using kayaks. His boat was very clean and in perfect shape, as was his fishing equipment. My buddy and I and our three teenage boys had a blast with Wes. He grew up fishing the waters in and around Ft. Myers, and told us some cool stories about what he's seen in his 14 years in business. Took family on 1/2 day trip. My wife + our 3 boys (age 15, 13 & 9) and I caught 50+ fish. We aren't experienced anglers, and this was intended to be an experience of fishing for the family vs targeting a specific fish like Tarpon, Snook or going after record setting size and it was right on the money. We had a lot action and the family loved it. I had been on two other Charters (not in Florida) and this was the best experience to date. Caught 2 black tip sharks (landed one) a bunch of trout, mackerel, jack cravelle, lady fish and of course some catfish. We recommend Capt Wes!

Some buddies and I went out with Captain Wes and had a great time. We ended up only being out for 6 hours due to heavy storms but caught over 10 Red Fish throughout the day! For someone who doesn’t fish off a boat much, we had a blast!! Very recommended

Capt Wes is really personable and we enjoyed talking with him. We didnt have a great catch but he sure worked hard to make sure that we had fun and caught as much as possible. It was still a really fun experience and I definitely recommend it!

Had the opportunity to fish with Capt. Wes this trip to the area and it was a blast! Wes keeps his boat clean and in great shape. He is extremely knowledgeable about where and how to catch specific fish, or just go see how many different fish you can land in one 4 hour trip. We caught numerous snook, trout, jack, and some kind of strangely aggressive catfish. I also got to see manatees and dolphins up close as well, which is a real bonus for a Missourian like me! If you are looking to catch some fish and get out of the house for a few hours,why not get out on the gulf? Thats what our group did. We caught sharks, mackrle,catfish,snook and a few “pop up”thunderstorms. All in all a great time. Capt Wes did what he could and put us on fish,to bad the weather didnt fully cooperate. Booked a trip for june 14th. My wife, my 10 year old daughter and I. Was an afternoon trip. Capt Wes is a great guy! Great personality. Highly knowledgeable! Bait died prior to the trip so he had to go net some bait. Got the lines in the water but nothing was biting. Moved locations.. dramamine kicked in and my 10 year old fell asleep. Lines back in the water ... a sign of hope! My wifes line started peeling off her rod ... lost it. Bull shark. Lines back in the water. Drift fishing. No bites. Headed back to the slip. Threw on bait, broke my rod in on a snook. Only 1 fish landed the entire trip. Not Capt Wes's fault .. the fish just weren't hungry. Its called fishing. Not catching.

Although I am not a fisher person, I highly recommend Wes to my condo guests. Many of them have gone out with Wes and rave about him. The most recent guests were absolutely thrilled with all the fish they caught. I saw the video and Wes was great with their 8 and 10-year-olds. It is a day they won't forget with all the amazing fish!

Second Charter we have booked with FishSkinner Charters and have nothing but the best to say about the trips. Captain Wes put us on the fish every time. First trip hit lots of Reds, Snook and a ton of Trout. This last trip limited out on Reds by 9am and continued to hook up the rest of the trip! He knows the waters and the tides and gets you into a lot of action!!!!

Captain Wes is great. I took my 16 year old son and his friend on a trip with Captain Wes. Captain Wes is a good guy and has a very nice boat. We had a great time. Started out catching bait for the day and then fishing. Caught sheepshead, snapper, grouper, squirrelfish, and redfish. He cleaned up the fish we kept and it was ready to eat. I will be getting a hold of him anytime I am in Ft. Myers.

I've been on multiple fishing charters with my family and captain Wes was by for the most professional and knowledgeable guide.

So I went on this Charter with my family and it was me and my son, daughter, sister, and grandmother. A week before the charter I had requested 6 hours and that’s what they advertise and that’s what the receptionist told me we could get. I got the call from the Captain (Wes) last night and he informed me we would figure out the time today as if he was not interested in 6 hours, could tell by tone of voice. So we show up at 9:30 and he picks us up at 10:00 and we go out fishing in approximately 4foot of water. I have a boat if I wanted to fish with my family less than a mile from dock I would have saved money and took my own boat. Never the less we fish and 1:50 comes around and I ask what can we do about the time cause we had only caught a measly 2 fish out of 5 and a captain, and he tells me we are going in at 2:00. No extra time like I requested and I guess he did not need the extra money he already made enough off of me for not really doing anything. So then on the way in again we only had 2 fish and he asked do you even want these two fish like he was too damn good to even clean them for us. Enough RANT. Absolutely worst charter I have ever been on.

Not worth the money! Only caught one keeper! Website said GoPro videos and pictures, there was none of that! Very disappointing experience! 3/2/2019

We really enjoyed our fishing trip. Wes, our captain, was waiting for us when we arrived at the dock. Everything was set and no time was wasted to get us on the water and start fishing. The boat seemed like new, clean, and fast. Wes did his best in taking care of us (brining in the fish into the boat, removing the hook, and adding the bait) ensuring that we maximize our fishing time. Definitely recommend FishSkinner!
