Went to walk in to new some friends around 1 am and I gave the bouncer my ID he looked me up and down and told me “you ain’t coming in here with them shoes” then chucks my ID at me. Funny think was I seen multiple people in the same shoes being let in.

Management need to sort out their bouncers , wouldn’t let me in and my girlfriend because the bouncer with the Corn rows tried flirting with my girl and after she rejected him he wouldn’t let us in and her mates. Absolutely disgusting

The worst experience ever first and last time ever going here again managers were so rude and so were the security also the guy who was scanning everyones ticket was very rude , what a waste of time and money!! very over rated. I did not come out of my house to be disrespected!

This review is a reflection of the Door Supervisor at the entrance to the venue at 20:09 on 30/04/2023. To ensure integrity of my review, we were allowed access to the venue eventually as we met all guidelines for access. The clown of a door supervisor at the entrance to R bar is a danger to R Bar customers and a hinderance to the integrity of the business. No SIA licence on display, and from his behaviour, it is apparent that he may not even have any training and may not be licenced at all. (L) The alleged door supervisor was discriminative and attempted fraudulent behaviour. Asking male customers to pay £10 at entry. When calling his bluff and attempting to pay via a recorded card transaction which would be taxed, he then decided that we could only pay via cash. (To fill his little pockets). His reasoning for this. “I’m trying to run a business here” I then explained to him (with small words) that we weren’t going to be conned and that by discriminating against us, that the venue would lose the additional 8 to our party already inside and our money spent at the bar, which is a greater loss to the business than conning two customers £10 each at the door. This venue does not charge at the door. This man is committing fraudulent behaviour. Be careful with your decision to enter this venue, there are much safer venues surrounding, with correctly licenced door supervisors on site to help keep you safe and ensure a good night. SIA have been contacted and photos of the alleged door supervisor sent to them. Visual identification - MALE - 35+ - BAME - OVERWEIGHT - UNCOMELY A good life lesson for this chump on the door. Be careful who you play poker with.

Disappointing experience , manager was very rude , will definitely not be coming back here! also staff were pestering me and friends to buy shots maybe because there manager was making them I felt sorry for how the female staff were treated! It was also very cold inside the venue!

If I could rate a zero I would worst bar experience ever.. when we was first greeted by a young boy we was rudely spoken to in a patronising way and manager is very rude and a few of the security guards were too the girl staff were nice felt sorry for them aswell as there manager was using very provocative language and swearing at them, me and two other friends booked here for a event and the artist were 2 - 3 hours late so when the artist arrived we were rushed inside given a free drink which tasted like pop no alcohol and then were rushed upstairs if we didnt buy any merchandise we had to go which was not at all clarified when buying the ticket here I did not get to finish my drink as it was rudely snatched out of my hand and thrown away by one of the managers who was no surprise also very rude and aggressive I spent longer waiting outside (1 hour and a half) and spent around 5-10 minutes inside and also the other manager was very rude, I have never felt so disrespected/ violated and badly treated by a bar in my life, think again if you ever want to come here its not worth it.

I was told you can’t wear bubble trainers by the bouncer but I then saw 5 people bubbling around! I personally believe it was down to the colour of my skin! The bouncer with the stripes on his head

Basically only let's girls in, waited outside and bouncer was only letting young girls in.

Went here on NYE was really good music! I slipped on liquid all over the stairs leading down to the toilets which nobody had cleaned and I’ve now smashed my phone screen and have a bruised leg/arms. I wasn’t the only person who fell down the stairs either. Would visit again but extra caution on the stairs so I don’t leave bruised and with a damaged phone.

Had a great time on the Bank Holiday day party yesterday. I was greeted at the door by a polite, handsome young man who explained to me that they unfortunately had technical issues with the card machine and showed me the broken device, he pointed out the nearest cash machine and was very helpful along with the rest of the great door team who clearly had their SIA badges on display. It was also only £10 for the whole day with a number of DJs throughout, an absolute bargain. Very glad I didn’t miss out. Can’t wait for the next one.

R Bar always play those tunes you have heard in a while! The atmosphere is always electric, the vibes are always nice and crowd control it great, its pack but not too too packed

I’ve come to this venue on a few occasions, been a great experience every time. Friendly polite door-staff on the way in, bar staff provided a great service, and the musics good! Crowds always good vibes and a good atmosphere!

A nice place for students/ youths to enjoy their weekend night out.

Great music, reasonably priced drinks. £4 for vodka and coke. The crowed is generally at ease. Definitely not a trouble hot spot.

This place is so much better without bubble shoes.
