We arrived around 5.15pm to get food before heading to the lioness game at the stadium, after quing for ages (to be expected) we got to the bar and tried ordering food! 6 meals! Lots on the menu unavailable! we ordered and was told there was an hour wait for food (as it was busy was to be expected and that was fine) 1hr 45mins passed we asked one member of staff about food who told me he would find out we never saw him again, we asked another member of staff who told us it was coming in a couple of mins, another 10 minutes passed so we are now at just under 2 hours waiting for food with 2 very hungry children and they bring out 3 adult and 1 children’s meal when questioned we was advised they would again go and check how long rest of food would be, again we never saw that lady again, after getting fed up of waiting for the other 2 meals my friend went to the bar and got a refund on the 2 missing meals, there was no apology and she was met with complete rudeness!

Came over from cleethorpes to see my son at uni, came here for lunch. It was his 21st, gave him a free drink thank you to the lovely lady behind the bar. The food was lovely now stuffed, very happy with the service, staff very friendly and kind. Ran out of carling and had to have an alternative and gave me a refund for the carling. I would recommend coming here and we will be back. Thanks guys

24/06 Sadly most been a bad day, or just not what I know of a Greene king, I was hoping for the sizzler plate menu b seems this pub offers a very cut down option. Pub owner was friendly and nice for taking a order Local feel to the pub and felt Out of place as not a regular. Run down and “sticky” feel to the place. Un kept in a lot of places and dust of a lot of fixtures and fittings Meal was supposed To be Cumberland sausages in giant Yorkshire but got a thin lomg German style sausage in bland taste and presentation. Sausage was not a great substitute and felt I was not getting a real sausage meat replacement of quality. Pub food = cheap but you still expect standards and overall feel. Cheap don’t mean you have to not enjoy Would not recommend

A pub full of advertisements for the 6 nations championship. Perfect place to watch the final match between England and Ireland to decide if Ireland could win the Grand Slam. Perfect venue except we had to wait to see the final football result scores before any sound was available. At the end of the game the much advertised six nations was switched off before the trophy was presented. Absolute joke. Zero customer service, no appreciation of customers, no atmosphere. Dump.

Good pub, under new management. Usual ale for a greene king pub but a surprising amount of box cider in the fridge (mostly lily's) does usual pub food, looks good.

Great food & drink at very reasonable prices. Live sports on the big screens and if you download the Season Ticket app there's 10% off drinks an hour before, during and after the big matches.

The 2 ladies who served us with our food and drinks were excellent and so friendly and welcoming. We had a burger and a kebab, and both were lovely and good value for money. Would definitely return.

Had a fish shop platter overcooked fish and sausage in batter not the best.also when Leicester city or Leicester tigers are at home price of drinks go up not fair if you are popping in for a couple of drinks. Not Happy.

Never had a bad experience at the Counting House, we visited on Wednesday for a couple of drinks and a dessert and were looked after very well. A big thank you to the staff working that evening.

Unfortunately this is the first time visiting this pub and most likely the last the food was not fantastic I had a vegetarian burger although I wanted salad and they didn’t have any the burger was overcooked and the edges where hard as rock no salad on the burger apart from lettuce and no onion rings as advertised there where 5 people eating in total the fish & chips where fine so I was told but the steak & ale pie was dried out and was not enjoyable also my 3 year old granddaughters plate was burning hot which is ridiculous to give this to a young child I ordered 2 lots of drinks at the bar as black coffee was not on the menu which is odd as I later learned they couldn’t serve latte’s as they had no milk and no one offered to bring them to our table even though when we booked I told them I was partially sighted not a great experience and a bad end to my sons 22nd birthday which is such a shame neither I or my 70 year old mum get out very much due to disability’s

It's a big city centre pub very close to the rugby ground. It was packed but we were served in a reasonable time, we ordered 3 pints and a juice and got 5 pints hey ho. It was an hour before kick off we ordered 4 steak and ale pies, they came in 20 mins, which was impressive given the volume, the food was good for a regular pub. Very good value too (compared to West Berkshire)

First visit to this venue. Although we got here early, it was the evening of Lionesses football so progressively got very busy. Food quality excellent. & prices. We would like to thank the Scottish lady serving the meals, great patience, kept us informed and a smile along the way. Hope the rest of the evening went well Thank you

Food is nasty 😒 hhey need to look for a new chef ASAP. Food on the menu sounds delicious, but the chef can't pull a simple menu out. Leicester college is over the road....they do catering ,food, chefs ect...employ a chef from the college. The staff were very nice ,polite,no complaints there.I felt sorry for the bar staff having to bring that cringe Food out.

Went for breakfast before Radio 2 Party in the Park. Lady behind the bar, didn't get her name, was very helpful and chatty. Food was quick and well cooked, we made some amendments and they were spot on.

Great pub and friendly staff who were very dog friendly towards Chloe (deaf dalmatian) who enjoyed the attention, water and dog treats provided from behind the bar. Thanks and I am sure Chloe will be dragging me back soon.

Staff very nice and helpful but food not so good. It was a large family birthday meal. Half the family ordered about 10 minutes before the rest. Their meal only took 10 - 15mins to arrive. But one person's appetite was ruined when they found a hair in their food, another meal came minus the chips and had to be asked for them some time later. Second section waited 35 mins for theirs after ordering. The pub was not that busy. Their food was okay. On the plus side, the place is clean and friendly, nice environment. A spilt drink was mopped up immediately and replaced. Please go there it may have been a one off, lets hope so.

Nice bar setting, plenty of TV to watch sports on but was quite packed all day. Close to other amenities and not far from both the King power stadium and 02 academy in Leicester.

Dissatisfied to say the least.. I had the vegan mushroom pie, there was probably one mushroom in there chopped into three slices, the pastry was dry and lukewarm., the peas were the most horrifying of all - khaki and wrinkly, definitely from a tin! My partner had the platter; basically a plate of beige, tasteless, dry total monstrosity. The only nice thing about the place is the building itself. It hasn’t changed at all over the years.

Great place to get a pint and pub food! This is my friend's go-to place to watch his Football game and cheering for Arsenal F.C. We been regulars here that the staff recognized us! My favourite menu item and usual for me was the Serf and Turf Cluck burger which had beef patty, fried chicken and shrimp with fries/chips. It was my usual meal until they got rid of it that I had to custom make it. The chicken tenders with jerk sauce (I hope that is correct as it has been two years since I been to this place). Lots of usual drinks. The staff are amazing and will create drinks on request and based on North America like one of my friends asked them to make Alien Brain Hemorrhage shot. One day I will return to Counting House and order my usual item!

We had a lovely meal here and were made to feel so welcome by the lady behind the bar. Nothing was too much trouble and she even helped us to book in for a meal before the rugby the next day. Thank you

Went to the Counting House today for a meal. Lovely lady behind the bar served us. They seemed to be short of staff. Whilst the food was ok, from ordering to receiving the food was a 50 minute wait so little disappointed.

Went there tonight for a family meal we ordered 4 meals. We was disappointed to find hard plastic in the food we reported this straight away and staff didn't seem bothered. We ordered chicken Tikka and it was disgusting and the meat was definitely not chicken. No apology until we was leaving. Shame used to be a great lively pub. We have been in twice in last 2 weeks and first time we was asked to leave at 9pm as they was closing early due to no customers and this experience today. Definitely not going back again.

Went for our works Christmas meal today. Limited staff! One server for 15 people - starters were ok. Main meal food came out cold. We returned 8 meals to go back in microwave & they were still cold. They were microwaved again & were all dried up. Nearly ALL 15 meals were not eaten. 3 x meals not touched. Got some money off the bill but it spoiled our outing. The server was called Lyn & she was a star, she did her best running around - she asked someone else to help her called Roslyn, who was very abrupt & didn't seem like she wanted to be there. We asked who the manager was but no one owned up! They picked it up with the puddings- they were brilliant & HOT! We won't be returning.

This bar could be amazing. However quite often only one person working the bar and doing the waitressing at the same time while the manager sits back and watches. Excuses I’ve had for not being able to order food before is the fact they have no clean plates to serve the food on. Prices are very steep now. Average price per pint is over a fiver. Food is very cheap though although you aren’t guaranteed to be able to get any.
