I’ve not had fish & chips for a while, but this was the best by far! The fish was cooked perfectly. Fresh mushy peas, curry & fish sauce were provided. Superb customer service! Very calm location! Every staff member in this Pub/Restaurant has the highest quality of service.

So far so good. Second time I have come, service still friendly and the beer is good and reasonably priced. Will update later with more visits. Update, tried some of the dishes , nice food service is still good will definitely be going again for some pub grub. 20th Nov 22 - Visited for Lunch, rump steak was great but we were disappointed with the Sunday Roast! It was cold and the roast potatoes were rock hard, the beef was chewy and over cooked. But this could have just been a one off.

Lovely evening meal with a perfectly cooked T bone steak and succulent ribs. The new chicken skewers were delicious, and the black cherry sundae was heavenly refreshing.

A great meal again. I got a long black hair on my chips though today. But didn't complain took it off luckily it wasn't entwined in the chips. I believe it was the girl serving. But family loved the 2 mixed grills and scampy and chips.

To the Manager (for relay to the staff). 21st Jan 2023 I went to your establishment today for a meal with my niece and my extremely difficult to please elderly mother. We have been many times and have always had good service and good food. I believe I have written once before about a good meal we had, as I am quick enough to complain about things, I am also quick enough to compliment. This time I must say the food was incredible, I mean on a top-quality level. I have been lucky enough to eat in some fine places yet not one of them is better with food than I had today, and a great many are unable to reach such standards on any day. There were also other factors in play, the food all arrived together, three completely different meals, mead, fish, and pie. All three were piping hot and cooked to the moment of excellence. Presentation and placement were most excellent so salad items served with hot items on the same plate did not go limp for example. The server was energetic, eager to please and attentive. I could wax lyrical about the meal today, (ribs for myself, salmon and pie for the ladies). However, I will vote with my wallet and return oft, I will also be letting my extensive network of friends and colleagues know how good today was including a write up in the local paper, The Leicester Mercury. I do hope you this reaches the top and is not intercepted by minions. Well done and thank you very much. Derek C Goodwin esq.

We booked the function room for a wake yesterday. We were so well looked after before and during. The buffet was good, with plenty of options to choose from. The room is nicely tucked away from the main areas which meant we were able to gather in peace. Thank you to the manager and staff for helping us to give our relative a really good send-off. You made a difficult day much more bearable and worry-free, for which we are very grateful.

Pint was fine but the chef has no idea how to cook, this place used to be great aswel, that was suppose to be medium rare ribeye , it wasn't medium rare and it wasn't a ribeye, going to be finding a new place to eat after this

I went to the restaurant with my mum and we couldn’t have been made more welcome. My mum is staying local as her partner is in hospital and she was worried about going to the restaurant on her own later in the week. Ruth, one of the restaurant team spent time talking to my mum to make her feel at ease and not to worry about coming to the restaurant on her own. Ruth was brilliant and my mum is happy to go in and feels at ease. Ruth’s service was brilliant also and so welcoming, she’s a credit to the restaurant chain. Also a mention to the Gent behind the bar, possibly the Manager. He was very professional and friendly. Mum and I had a good night, thanks guys!

Nice spacious pub with bar and restaurant seating available. Booking is recommended on busy days but not essential. We arrived at 3:30 on a Sunday and they were able to accommodate 3 adults and 2 children. The staff were all friendly, good selection of drinks, plenty of different ciders which is unusual. There is a beer garden although it was cold and dark so I didn't really see it but the kids went out to play. Nice menu with plenty of option, the food we all had was delicious and all came out quickly and together which was great considering it was 3 different orders. We visited after a day at Bradgate Park which was only 10/15 minutes away.

Would highly recommend the ultimate burger. One of the nicest burgers I've had for a long time. Nachos are lovely but quite a small portion for sharing. Fast service and polite staff.

This place needs more attention from the cleaning staff. The bar was sticky, all the tables were "occupied" because there was empty glass lying on them. After that - nice place if you want a pint!

Had a delicious Xmas meal of Festive Terrine, sea bass and a chocolate dessert that was truly amazing. There was a group of us and the staff were brilliant, we didn't have to wait long between courses and they couldn't do enough for us. The place itself was lovely, very festive, warm and welcoming. Shall definitely be going back.

Not bad at all to be fair. Food quality is good. Space, seating and atmosphere was good and staff very attentive. Customers are not squashed together, and the toilets are new and clean. Finally, customer parking was good. Not sure if it gets and different during very busy times but I would certainly use again.

We popped in for dinner one evening after visiting a relative in the local hospice. We had travelled from Scotland, spent the day at the hospice and we were both very tired and emotional. We were greeted by the lovely Nicky at the door, her smile was warm and welcoming. She very pr9brought us menus and asked if we wanted a drink, this was brought to us straight away. Nick explained the menu and answered any questions we had with utter confidence. The food was nice, the cauliflower in the Bang Bang cauliflower was over cooked, quite mushy, however, it didn't take away from the taste. Would we come back? Yes, especially if Nicky was still there. Nicky is a true credit to your staff and us worth keeping and nurturing. Nicky make our visit worthwhile. Please pass on my reiterated thanks for her service and being so friendly.

Staff are rude! Walked in literally 5 minutes ago. 2 staff members were staring at us while we stood waiting to be seated then walked off in a different direction, so we sat ourselves for then a staff member to come tell us we shouldn't of done that, rudely! Shame really as the chefs cook amazing food and that's why I come back for the lovely food. Shame on the front of house

Hi we came yesterday for a meal. Their were eleven of us and we were made very welcome. Caitlin was our server and she was lovely and polite. The pub was very clean and the staff were friendly. The food was amazing compliments to the chef. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Food was good but the pub is a dive, sofa completely ripped (a metre long rip) with all the stuffing on show, chairs in dining area all sunken on the seat part. Manager was entertaining people they must know (friends and family or staff maybe?) people booting the smoking area door to exit and nothing being said by staff etc and the pub was chilly.

Went for the first time with my husband for just a casual spontaneous meal out on Saturday evening as I really fancied fish & chips however not available as they ran out which was a little disappointing, but went for the next option of scampi which was still lovely. Table Service was by Sharon who was absolutely wonderful and looked after us very well for the evening and all the other staff had great customer presence. Wasn't so keen on the dessert, brownies sundae wasn't so good. Has a The brownie sundae to share but too much brownie as it was just too solid and heavy and chunky couldn't break it to get into the glass or to bite, not a good brownie, had to remove it. Brownie needs to be lighter and in pieces in the glass...however Will deffo go there again, atmosphere was great. Still need to try the fish and chips, might check before getting there to ensure its available next time.

We came here for our wake and I can honestly say what lovely food and staff. We were able to take home the remainder of the food and was provided with bags to do so. I would love to come back here on a happier occasion and have a meal and a few drinks. A lovely experience on such a sad day. Thank you so much.

My cheesy bacon fries came out in 2 minutes. They were a bit dry and tough. I would say the pub is also bit dark in places. Needs more light

Arrived on Friday evening with no booking, after driving up from a full on day Legoland with two tired kids. We were staying at the near by Premier Inn and were pleased to see the pub on arrival. The staff were all lovely, very friendly and attentive. The food was really enjoyable and tasty. Excellent value for money and we would definitely visit again when in Leicester.
