What better way to end the bank holiday than a meal at the Forge?😌 It doesn’t take a genius to work out that I am a BIG BIG fan of The Forge Inn. We last visited at the end of May and as per usual, I was not disappointed. What I had: • Jack’s Fish & Chips (swapped for Roman fries, iykyk) • Beer Battered Onion Rings • Eton Mess Cheesecake The fish was cooked to perfection with such a light, crispy batter. I cannot go to the forge and not order their truffle fries so I swapped the normal chips out for these. They were of course sensational. Even the mushy peas were a delight to eat. I also cannot resist when I see beer battered onion rings on a menu. I could easily devour ten portions of these (or somewhere near that number). Again they were cooked perfectly with the batter being so light and melting in your mouth. Finally, the Eton mess cheesecake…oh my goodness. Anything Eton mess is always a go-to for me. I do struggle to finish a dessert after a big meal but I’m pretty sure I demolished this🫣. I think just after we’d been, they changed the dessert menu so the cheesecake is no longer available. However, they do a raspberry and white chocolate Eton mess meringue that sounds divine! Going to the forge is always such a treat. The staff are lovely and welcoming. The servers that look after us aren’t always consistent with their attentiveness but I think that’s due to where we’re seated perhaps? Who knows. Overall, another lovely experience and I can’t wait to go back soon!

First time at the Forge Inn, the decor inside gives it a warm home feeling. Food was good quality and portion size. Staff were friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you not been before.

The atmosphere, staff and food here are all too notch. The pub is also nicely furnished and makes you feel comfortable. The price is very reasonable for what you get, and what you get isn’t a slap up plate of food it is a tasty meal prepared excellently with care and diligence. My props to the Chefs. I will definitely return.

I have heard many good things about this pub however have never been purely due to time. We came today for a family meal and we were not disappointed. Everyone who works there is so polite and kind and the food was gorgeous and worth every penny! I didn't try a dessert this time however they looked so delicious I regretted that choice! Can't wait to come again!

Lovely village pub with fantastic staff and service. Plenty of seating and a great menu with quality dishes. The food was fantastic. Highly recommended.

We went here for my uncles wake on Monday, we're not local to the area but my auntie said it's a family favourite of theirs. We were greeted by 2 very welcoming and friendly bar tenders to order drinks. We had a gorgeous buffet for the wake and there was plenty of food to go around with lots of leftovers. All staff were extremely attentive and polite. Made sure the tables were cleared regularly and felt very welcome the whole time. Would definitely recommend anytime.

Service was great. I'm pregnant at the moment with gestational diabetes and the bartender was really great in trying to create an alcohol free, sugar free drink. He didn't manage it but the fact that he took on the challenge and researched it was so thoughtful. The food was lovely, we didn't feel rushed at all and there was a good size gap between courses which definitely stopped the post meal bloat. We will be going again.

Visited yesterday after living in Groby for over a year now and we were sad we hadn't visited before. Came with 2 little kids and it was perfect. The food was delicious, well presented and generous potion size. Staff we were attentive and friendly ensuring we had enough drinks and everything was ok. Husbands steak was cooked to perfection and the kids ate most of their meal. The decor was lovely and warming. Will definitely be visiting again!

I don’t normally leave reviews on restaurants unless they’re really good and In this instance it was AMAZING. The Sunday dinner was fantastic, it definitely is one of the best roast dinners I’ve had in the area and the chocolate fudge cake was incredible (and huge). Service was very good and all waiters were very polite and attentive. 10/10 highly recommend🌟

We stopped here for lunch instead of Leicester Forest Services. What a pleasant surprise, met at the door by a charming young lady, inside great atmosphere service and food. We had intended to stop briefly but stayed for 3 courses and coffees. Best value food and service we have experienced by far. Well done to all involved.

Great customer service, though one can expected this of this establishment based on its target clientele. Going further, they had helped organise the private room for our occasion and had even been able to accommodate for some extra guests. Very good general experience and atmosphere. In addition, the waitress had some good rapport/banter with the group. The food was good. It was cooked to a high standard and came out in a timely manner. There were a couple mistakes but that can be expected considering the number of us present. Only reason for not 5 stars is the price point was a little on the higher side and the few mistakes with the order. Otherwise very happy with it and will definitely revisit 👍🏾

Half way meeting place with a friend for brunch. First time here. Wow! Not disappointed. Lovely setting, interior, friendly, attentive staff and welcoming. Buttermilk pancakes with bacon and maple syrup were delicious. Will definitely return ☺️

Amazing high quality food, my steak was cooked absolutely perfectly! The sauces and starters were incredible too. It’s a really spacious pub with plenty of parking and shaded outdoor seating, which is especially great in the middle of summer. Will definitely come again!

I've been here 2x recently. Once for lunch during the week and on this occasion for Sunday lunch. Staff are polite and attentive...if you're going on a Sunday book your table in advance. We took a risk arriving at 5 past 12 and were told the only places available were in the bar area or snug where they have higher tables at the back. We took one of those. The table and cutlery looked clean and the area overall looked well cared for. Our drink order arrived as we'd asked (we like no ice). I had a chicken-less burger 🍔 while hubby had pork with crackling Sunday dinner. His plate of food was huuuge! The portions are very generous. It was all cooked very well with plenty of crackling. The vegetables were cooked nicely. The chips with my tasty burger were very nice too. All on all it was great...tbh thought the portions too generous especially for the Sunday roast and we would definitely have struggled if ordering extra sides. I had an inkling portions may be generous from the enormous jacket potato I had on my last visit If you like a hearty meal, a clean place and polite staff you'll like it here. The prices are reasonable considering the amount of food you get and the fact the food is cooked to a good standard.

Eaten here a few times and the food is always excellent with great, polite and friendly service from all the staff. The menu is good, the children's portions are generous and good quality. The seating is well thought out and the surroundings are clean and well kept. As a result it can be quite busy, and I would recommend booking in advance for busy times.

Best pub meal I have had in a long time! My mum and I went to the forge for lunch after her friend recommended it and it exceeded my expectations!! The light bite lunch menu was not just good value but also filled us up and tasted spectacular!! The mac and cheese I'm particular! To add to the a round of drinks was cheaper here than most pubs I go to locally which was a bonus too! Pudding was brilliant and the chocolate fudge cake alone makes me want to return. Our servers were fantastic, they checked on us regularly with a big smile and took time for us even though it was busy. The actual pub was beautiful inside and makes your meal feel almost magical! I will definitely be returning and I cannot recommend this pub enough!

Lovely pub, staff very friendly. Ordered food which came quite quickly the food was lovely had the pork belly for starters could of had a lot more was so tasty!! had the mixed grill was so much food I was stuffed but it was all cooked perfect. steak was amazing just melted in my mouth! Prices are reasonable. would come back.

I don’t usually leave reviews but feel our experience fully deserves one. Had a lovely evening here for my granddaughters birthday. The service was amazing. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Made my granddaughter feel very special. Food was beautiful. Will definitely be returning.

Really nice friendly country pub, great selection of beers, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Good sized car park too. Well worth a visit.

Beautiful place, Staff are absolutely wonderful! Didn't catch his name but the gentleman with the short black hair was excellent with our very nervous dog. I'd review the food the same as the staff! Will definitely return.

Looked for a stop off on journey. Very impressed with friendly welcome from staff and throughout visit. Our meals were served quite quickly and we could not fault the quality, quantity and presentation. Excellent, would not hesitate to return, in fact definitely on our list as we do that journey from time to time.

The food here is amazing. Never had a bad meal here. Particularly love the Sunday roasts. Delicious coffee too. Would love to see a dairy free/vegan pudding on the menu though.

Didnt book a table, but they managed to find us a table. Delicious food as always. We had chicken wings, roman fries, battered halloumi, and onion rings.

Excellent service from starters to finishers! Lamb shank was almost as lovely as the two waitresses that looked after us. Lauren and Carrie-Anne never stopped smiling, whilst making sure our dining experience at The Forge in Glenfield was a very memorable one. Thank you.

Lovely dining experience. Nice welcome at the door. Table ready on time. Food excellent and freshly cooked. Good selection of drinks. Just the toilets required a little more attention. No toilet paper in one cubicle. Hand sanitizer available. Recommended, we will be going again.

Great service, waiting staff gave just the right amount of attention. Nice setting. Food average. Looked great but meat had not been rested so tough and grilled veg not seasoned. A bit more care and love needed when charging £24 for a steak. Burgers and pasta again looked the part. A little more attention to detail would make them outstanding.

Never ever disappointed with our local, the hot hobs for lunch are to die for, so lucky to have this down the road!

We visited here for Sunday lunch. It was very busy and our booked table wasn't ready, this wasn't a problem for us though. The Manager kept us updated whilst we had a drink. When we got seated we were very well cared for by the staff who checked if we needed drinks etc frequently. The food was delicious, tasty, hot and well presented. We will definitely be back again in the future. Thank you.

Went on Tuesday 2 weeks ago, quite quiet which was good as it was still on lockdown. They followed all Covid rules, masks, table service & distancing. Staff was wonderful, polite, helpful, friendly & always available for us. It’s a beautiful pub with garden area, outside smoking area & free parking with disabled parking spaces. Unfortunately food was just ok.

Lovely pub. They had a few veggie dishes on their menu, I had the veggie sausages and mash. Loved that the portions were so big!! Went on a Saturday evening and had a great atmosphere and not to forget the service was fab. Everyone who served us was super friendly! Will be going back again!

Very bad experience apparently work wear not aloud in the pub at 17:15. Dress code stated casual. Atmosphere also stating casual.very stuck up.

Lovely Saturday night meal. We were served by Patsie who was very good, the steaks were amazing. It is on the pricier side but worth it for the experience and quality of the food. Would recommend for a special occasion. Thank you!
