Sir Charles Napier

Bar Pub

😐 The;- "Charles Napier" pub, is a no frills kind of place, that needs some seating, &, decor renovation unfortunately. The staff had various characters, from being quiet, to cheerful, helpful, &, polite. Drinks are amazingly cheap for a pub on the outskirts of Leicester. "Mark Vaughan (MVS KARAOKE")...

Excellent heritage pub with 3 separate rooms. No phone in pub. Opening hours Fri/Sat 1200-0100. Rest 1200-1200.no real ale. Well worth visiting. Excellent prices for drinks

I go almost every Saturday with my partner and mum in law for a drink and take part in the karaoke. You don't need to drink obsessive amounts of alcohol to have a good time Been going since September and it's become a very nice environment to me

Was pleasantly surprised when I visited the Napier again as I hadn't been in here for some time back when it had a name for being a rough place to go, but got to say when I've visited recently on a number of occasions the staff have been friendly and polite the atmosphere has been chilled and relaxed with a variety of different aged people having a quite drink and enjoying themselves. Also have to say during this covid crises the staff seem to be following the guidelines to the best they can. So thumbs up from me.

This place won the local Camra regional pub award in 1997. The certificate remains proudly displayed 22 years later. The beers inexpensive though not necessarily good. On the night of my visit there was a loud disturbance in the public bar which was clearly audible in the lounge. Apparently one of the patrons had called another a "doughnut" and this vile slur would not be allowed to pass unanswered. Thankfully, after a prolonged period, good sense prevailed and something approaching calm was restored.

The;- "Charles Napier" pub, is a no frills kind of place, that needs some seating, &, decor renovation unfortunately. The staff had various characters, from being quiet, to cheerful, helpful, &, polite. Drinks are amazingly cheap for a pub on the outskirts of Leicester. "Mark Vaughan (MVS KARAOKE") entertains people their, once a week, as well as numerous other venues around the massive city, &, is a wonderful, personal friend, &, on the night of his karaoke, the pub does a football card, priced at £1.50 a go (cost of living crisis prices), where you can win £30 (which coincidently i won, on my 1st visit, lol, not a fix either) plus, they also provide a small meal of their choice, included in the price. We met some lovely, new, &, a couple of old faces from the past, who are friendly customers, during our visit, &, intend to go back again soon, qs the decor in the lounge area, wasn't really an issue, once we went into the venue hall.

While waiting for my partner's parents to arrive, after not even 5 minutes of sitting down we were both told to leave as "we weren't ordering drinks". We insisted that we had every intention to purchase some, though unfortunately, the woman who had asked us to leave had no interest in listening and continued. Sadly we couldn't really do much as we both struggle to handle conflict, due to fact that we suffer with social anxiety and Asperger Syndrome/HFA, so we left straight away.

made the mistake on going when Leicester was playing. One side of the pubs looks very nice. but if your not into football do not go when a game is on.
