I've been coming here for over 35 years!! It's one of Leicester's greatest little institutions, great then and great now. Good wholesale vegetarian and vegan food and their help-yourself salad is always fresh and delicious. It's such a shame they've stopped doing their fruit crumbles. Bring it back!!! Once you discover this hidden gem you will always come back again and again.

The fact that this place has been going since 1965 says it all. Traditional home cooked style vegetarian and vegan dishes such as bakes, roasts and casseroles. Fantastic salad bar selection and plenty of cake choices. A Leicester institution.

Come and have fresh food you wish you could cook at home. What you see on my tray was under £10. And they accept card now. Love it.

Another great lunch at the home of good vegetarian food in Leicester. I had Broccoli and Stilton soup for starters and it was divine. Sweet chilli pasta bake with salad was superb. The cornflake pie was a bit too sweet for my liking. Great service as always. Will be returning very soon

Visited for the first time today....I chose my food but wasn't able to pay by card. Staff said it was no problem and to pop cash point after I'd eaten so my dinner didn't get cold!!bless their boots!!not many places these days woul allow or trust you to do that! I will absolutely return...it's a hidden gem...friendly staff...felt like I was eating within a home environment. Excellent food...and reasonable too.give it a try...Leicester needs to ensure we don't loose this delightful place. Thanks!!

Love the good earth! Staff are lovely and helpful, and food is delicious, with large portions! A pretty unique setting in Leicester, and some great options. Would highly recommend.

Excellent experience for the four of us who dined at The Good Earth. Quiet and atmospheric; a good place to relax, chat and enjoy good food and drinks at reasonable prices.

Nowadays you won't find many places like this. Unique atmosphere, brilliant food (like home), lovely service, quiet and friendly place. Ive had a vegan pasta bake twice, and I will be returning just for this for a while! Need to get bored of it to try something new! 🤣 Great selection of cakes with vegan options available. Lovely hot chocolate with vg whipped cream and marshmallows. It's such a joy to go there. My favourite place in Leicester!!

Visited today for lunch with my friend. The staff are alway's friendly & welcoming. The tables we noticed were spaced apart allowing for socially distanced diners. Everywhere looked spotless including the toilet facilities. We also noted that decorating had taken place with a lovely new carpet installed. Our meal of butternut squash with goats cheese risotto & lentil shepherd's pie with large salad was delicious. We made sure that we had enough room for their famous carrot cake afterwards. We are biased but considering everything is freshly made in house on a daily basis we think this represents exceptional value for money. We would not hesitate to recommend this gorgeous little gem of a family run restaurant the next time you are in the city centre - you won't be disappointed!

Quite a limited and old fashioned menu but the food tasted good and the staff were friendly

Went there are the staff clearly cared more about their conversation than providing us with customer service! We ended up going to a much nicer place which also served but nicer looking and tasting food

Love this place hasn't changed a bit. Be prepared to wait in line but it's worth it. Best home cooked vegetarian food in town. .....well anywhere really!

As usual, this place never ceases to please. Lovely, healthy, tasty food always on offer. And spacious seating area where there is plenty of room between tables. Can highly recommend on all levels. Don't forget to visit the equally pleasing pot pourri shop just downstairs. Beautiful smells and treats to be had. Enjoy

Spent many happy years coming to the good earth.As always a lovely,friendly,laid back place to eat.However the pasta dish today was less than ideal.For nearly £10.00 the dish was onions,peppers,tomatoes and some pasta in a smallish bowl with a miniscule hunk of bread.Costs are increasing everywhere yet many other places in Leicester still give good value for money.In this instance im afraid this was not the case,a shame as its a great place to go.

This little gem of a restaurant, tooked away in a city centre side street, serves absolutely delicious, home made, healthy food at very reasonable prices. The atmosphere is quaint and nostalgic whilst the service is very friendly.

Popular vegi, although a little overpriced and sometimes overcooked. Not disabled friendly.

Love this place went for lunch with Hubby I ate fat too much as the vegan meal was amazing Friday lunch times are booked most weeks as Hubby finishes at lunch time. Lovely people that come in and chat as well feels like a home from home kind of place with really friendly and helpful staff 👍😋

Homemade vegetarian meals. Lovely salads and cakes too. Quite dated decoration but to be honest it adds to its uniqueness. Not an accessible restaurant unfortunately as it has a deep staircase to climb.

Lovely veggie and vegan meals. Nice relaxing atmosphere good range on offer,always tasty and well cooked, lovely mixed salads to accompany main meals.

Really like this place for a lunchtime visit, lovely food in a very friendly atmosphere. I think the only reason its not always packed is because its hidden away in a back street. We will, as ever, be back.

I tried this restaurant for the first time the other day after someone reccomended it at work. Very impressed with the relaxed atmosphere and delicious, hearty, home-cooked food. I'm not a vegetarian but I do like (unpretentious) vegetarian food, which is what this place serves. Friendly staff and great value. Only feedback is it would be great if the menu was published online.

Always at least two vegan options for main course, and the food is wholesome and satisfying. Vegan butter and dairy free milk available on request. Lovely selection of salads and cakes too. My favourite place to eat in when visiting Leicester.

Such a choice of dishes - took me a while to decide on the potato, parsnip and carrot bake with mature cheese. I'm on a diet regime and was able to get a spoonful of salad instead of the white bread, with no added cost. So glad I came across this restaurant on my first trip to the city centre.

Met a friend I hadn't seen for 50 years. We used to come to the Good Earth as students. An exceptional place, lovely food, lovely people, wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Long standing Leicester vegetarian restaurant, with hearty home made cooking the order of the day. Have been many times over the years and always eaten well.

Imagine all the good things you could say about a place to eat. You won't be disappointed by The Good Earth. A business associate suggest we try it. It was a really pleasant surprise. Very friendly staff and a great selection of health food options. I will definitely go again.

Unique way of working out a restaurant. There are amazing homemade foods, vegan options and the people here are very kind. It's relatively cheap and a great place to go to if you are bored of fast food.

Fabulous, the original veggie restaurant & still the best

I love this restaurant. Great variety of vegetarian meals and sumptuous homemade cakes. I’m not vegetarian but this is one of my favourite places to eat in town. Service is always super friendly and such a cosy place to take a break from the hustle & bustle of town. A real treasure for Leicester!

Mum used to bring me here as a child and now my daughters enjoy the food here. It's not changed much. Always try and pop in whenever I'm in town. An oasis of calm and tranquility. Their salads are so fresh and tasty and love the cooked from scratch wholesome mains. Rissoles are a favourite. Usually do a 'cake away' too...has to be done. NB its cash only here.

I have always been a meat eater and would never have considered dining at vegetarian restaurants until today. This place has amazing hearty food and a friendly atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone willing to try vegetarian food every once in a while.

Was looking forward to lunch here with with my mum. We arrived and could here staff in the kitchen, they must have known we'd arrived because we were talking and trying to catch their attention. Obvious they couldn't be bothered to break from their conversation and provide us with the service we wanted!! We will never return and we also have good friends who love this place who we will persuade the same also!

A cosy and warm environment serving delicious vegan and veggie meals and treats. I had the cottage pie and it could be the best cottage pie I’ve ever had! Will definitely revisit.
