Really enjoyed Brunch at KAI, visited Leicester for a day and found this place local to our hotel. Shakshuka was really nice, it was different then Turkish places but enjoyed it. Buttered Sourdough was lovely with the Shakshuka. I also ordered a side of Potatoes, which was too much for me but again nice touch. Wife ordered the Mushrooms on toast which was on the special for the day, really liked it Filling and tasty. Juices were nice and refreshing, healthy as well. Service was good and the vibe was really nice. Also we actually came here for the Pancakes but we were stuffed and missed out , so you can share meals easily.

It’s a nice place in St Martins square for brunch. It’s usually very crowded over the weekends so booking ahead is advisable. The food is very fresh and tasty. The ambiance is ok, can be better. The service is good and the restaurant is reasonably priced.

My second time here, once again very impressed with the food! I had the french toast with berries, strawberries and banana. Didn't take too long to arrive and it tasted delicious wasn't too sweet it was just perfect! The presentation of the food was great too. My friend was really happy with her choice she had an American pancake with strawberries and hazelnut chocolate. She ate it all up and said she would be back to have more! Thank you so much and look forward in coming soon in the near future 😀

KAI does brunch, and it does it well. It's not a large place and it can be busy, but the friendly staff will try their best to find room. And it's worth waiting for - cute decor and chilled atmosphere (lofi included!) makes it a great place for a low-key brunch. And the food is amazing. Maybe the best pancakes I've ever had. And the french toast was delicious too! Wouldn't hesistate to come back, and the prices while not cheap feel reasonable given the quality of the food you receive. If I had to find something to criticise it would be the bathrooms - two simple rooms that are identical in function, so why gender them? Just put "toilet" on both, and it'd make it simpler for everyone.

This is a lovely breakfast place with vegetarian and some vegan options. Customer service was also good! The only issue is parking which you would need to park at the nearest paid car park (Highcross car park would be ideal).

Delicious food with attractive plate styling, all at reasonable prices. Nice and welcoming staff. It has no doubt one of the top eating places in Leicester.

Kai is seriously one of the best place to eat in Leicester. They get everything right, which is rare for most eateries. The have friendly staff, great food at exceptional prices, and to top it all off, they balance their hustle and bustle with instrumental music. I implore everyone to visit at least once!

Some of the most delicious American style pancakes in Leicester! They can get pretty busy and don't take reservations. But on the weekends they serve the same menu at their sister restaurant Pai which is just across St Martin's square. We went on a Saturday morning around 10:45 and were able to get a table outside without waiting.

I had the pancakes with hazelnut chocolate and strawberries, my friend had smashed avocado on bread (I think). We also had the smoothies that were available as the ones we originally wanted, they didn't have them. It was very nice food, the staff were lovely. And the way they took orders, served you and pay for your food, was so very thought through. We did go at a very busy time and the food was quite expensive. They were very big portions too. But if you can't finish it all, you can ask the staff if you can have a takeaway box and they will give you one to take home and eat later.

I’ve come here quite often and the food is fantastic. I have only ever had the avocado, smoked salmon, and lemon crême frêche pancakes. The pancakes are so soft and fluffy, salmon is smooth and savoury, the avocado is so creamy, and the lemon crême frêche provides perfect tang to the meal. Such a reasonable price for the food. The service and atmosphere was more than satisfactory. I was served by Lizzy and she was really nice.

Lovely little place for breakfast. We got the vegan Benedict with regular hollandaise sauce. It was quite a big portion for one person but so nice!! Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

Specifically went for their Eggs Benedict and loved it. A perfect egg Benedict depends on the quality of Hollandaise and the hollandaise here was perfect with a creamy texture and accurate level of acidity. The sauce provided a nice glossy finish to the egg which was poached to perfection - the yolk was runny and not overcooked. The bacon was nice and crisp. The bread was toasted nicely as well. The presentation was enticing. Overall, I'd say it's the perfect place if you love Eggs Benedict.

Really cute cafe. Clean and cosy. Lots of choice for breakfast. It's so nice to have something different to the normal greasy fry up. Vegan friendly. I had the pancakes, they were as big as my head :D Worth every penny. I couldn't finish them though... ha ha ha! Ordered quickly and food was fast. Staff are so lovely :) The only bad thing about the place was it was a bit cold in there.

My wife and I rocked up as the first customers at 9am today and the food and service did not disappoint! The lo-fi playing on the speakers really help set a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and you can see and hear them working well as a team to get the food out in a timely and presentable manner.

A really nice place for brunch, with lots of different items including vegan and vegetarian options. Ordered the scrambled sriracha tofu with smashed avocado on sourdough toast and strawberry and hazelnut chocolate pancakes. The food came out fairly quickly and the plate presentation was really nice. The food tasted great everything was fresh and the flavours were rich. The atmosphere was nice inside, it's tidy and had a modern feel. The waiting staff were nice and friendly too.

Lovely little brunch spot - delicious food and quick service despite how busy it gets. I like that you pay for your bill once you've ordered, meaning you can leave whenever you are ready. The only thing that could be improved is if they had a booking system in place. The queue for a table can get very long at times and a booking system would largely avoid this.

I discovered this all day breakfast spot after conducting a Google search for brunch. We got the florentine and Benedict eggs, but substituted the sourdough toast for pancakes. I wish the server had informed us that the pancakes she would be serving were sweet rather than savoury, as we had believed. The poached eggs were a little overcooked, I believe I will inform them if I return. The turmeric tea was delicious, and the overall food quality was acceptable.

I took my sister for her enrolment day yesterday and when can I ever pass up the opportunity to go for food in town? I couldn’t convince her to stay long enough for lunch so breakfast it was. She’s a fussy eater so I knew @eat.kai would be perfect for her! What we ordered: Smashed avocado with runny poached eggs on sourdough toast - I never used to be a fan of avocado but the combination of it with eggs and toast is unbeatable😍. The avocado mix was so creamy and flavoursome. The bread was a perfect crispy and crunchy texture and didn’t get soggy from the avocado (which always happens). The only downside to the meal is that the runny eggs were not runny at all☹️. They were literally hard boiled which was not what I was expecting after seeing the name of the dish. Hopefully everyone else’s eggs were runny but luckily it didn’t ruin the experience for me. American pancakes with strawberries and hazelnut chocolate sauce - my sister absolutely loves Nutella so a stack of pancakes drenched in hazelnut chocolate sauce and mounted with strawberries was the perfect breakfast meal for her. She said it was incredible and I thought it smelled divine. Breakfast potatoes - for some reason we thought they were going to be mini hash browns, even though it does state that they are new potatoes😂. They didn’t have the most flavour but they were cooked really well and weren’t crunchy which was a plus. I was a bit disappointed with my meal but my sister really enjoyed hers. The service was good and I liked how they asked you to pay once you’d ordered. We were able to leave as soon as we’d finished and didn’t have to wait for the bill (which is a pet peeve of mine). I’ve visited Kai before and didn’t really like what I chose so I hoped that going back and making a better food choice would do the trick but even when ordering something I liked, the food wasn’t quite up to scratch. My sister thoroughly enjoyed her meal and I’m sure we would definitely return but I am yet to find something I really enjoy.

Absolutely amazing experience. Our server was Emily however all of the people working had a constant smile on their face and helped us with any need. They listened to our requests for our food because of allergies and was more then happy to follow them. The food was just amazing, and the portion sizes are 100% worth the prices.

Popular spot which fills up quick for good reason! The breakfast pancakes were delicious, three thick and super fluffy pancakes with really generous toppings! The service was fast and the staff really friendly - I'll definitely be returning and I'm sure it'll become a firm favourite as a place to bring people!

The most insane breakfast! We went for the savoury options but will definitely be back to try the pancakes. The portions are really generous and the staff are friendly. Would definitely recommend for a breakfast/brunch spot!

It was my wife's birthday today & so I wanted to treat her by taking her for breakfast at somewhere nice. After reading many good reviews online I decided to take her to Kai-Brunch. Place was nice & clean, atmosphere looked & felt good when we walked in however it took a very long time to place an order. Eye contact between customer and staff was almost non-existent, had to keep stopping & asking staff for sugar with hot drinks, table was wonky & had to move to another table after one became available. When we finally placed our order for food & drinks we had to pay immediately in full before receiving any items which was very odd. When I asked for a receipt for my payment for our order, I was advised we could not have a receipt right now but one can be emailed to us. This just did not sit comfortable with me, on any other day we would have left the place. As it was my wife's birthday we stayed. Food took a long time to come after receiving our hot drinks by which time my coffee was cold. My wife ordered a tea and the wrong drink was presented to us so she had to wait a further 20 minutes at least on top of the current wait. Once the food arrived it was really nice, however service and the time taken for the food to arrive since placing an order was not good at all, it was pretty poor. Personally, I thought the staff working at Kai's could do with some serious customer service training & the staff training needs to include attention to detail with engaging with its customers.
