My favourite Turkish restaurant in the city. I have tried almost 10 Turkish restaurants in Leicester and this has been the most consistent. Good location, good size so never too much of a wait and the food has been consistent from when they first opened. There is a reason this place has outlasted many other places.

We have a lovely meal here. We shared the mixed kebab as you got a bit of everything and then ordered the salad. Everything was delicious and so fresh. Very clean and staff really friendly. We will definitely be going again.

They've upgraded the decor and it looks very nice. The food remains nice and of good value. We ordered the platter for two and it was enough for 3 of us. The place gets busy around meals times quite quickly. We sat in a corner and it was hard to get the staffs attention- but when we did, they were very good.

Ordered a platter which was amazing! Lamb was a little too fatty food came very well packaged and was hot. Even the salad was good enough 100% recommended to go visit this place.

Family lunch there after a shopping trip to Leicester. There is 3 hour parking for 50p available on the side road. Up to 1 hour free parking. Ordered mixed grill 4 persons option. Enough for family of 5. Kids like pitta breads. Lamb ribs with homus is the best thing!! Next time will try shawarma.

Turkish food, always my favourite. Having a platter is always great. First time in Istanbul in Leicester and must say service was quick and food did not take long to arrive. It is very popular and I can see why!

Visited with friends when in Leicester. The lamb chops are amazing. The jumbo platter was enough to feed an army. About a 15 minute wait for a table for 8 of us without a booking which was pretty respectable for a Saturday night. Will definitely visit again.

We have visited a few times here, even before Prince Charles visited. The food used to be fantastic, but it needs consideration now. Just having some spices and herbs want make a food, it's has character. Food needs to be improved. The food is pricy, for the portion. But, overall its batter than some restaurant in Leicester. The waiter served us, she is fantastic. Had the knowledge about the dishes and offered us a fantastic Turkish tea, which we enjoyed. Some staff need training to be more friendly and smile or need to appear welcoming. Still overall, good. The store is very clean and tidy. Toilet facilities are very clean and accessible. Being visited by a royal member wants to make a place, one of the best. Food brings a lot of things. The memories, experiences, etc. There is always room for more improvement in many ways, rather taking a relaxed approach which only could bring distruction for any recurrent.

My wife and me went for lunch at this place, we were the first customers the lady welcomed us and we were seated, very pleasant host. We asked for recommendations and the platter was their famous item so we went for that, it was very tasty and amazing very well presented and very well cooked. Then we were offered complimentary tea and ordered Baklawa again was very nice, I will revisit this place again

The restaurant was decent size. Nice modern decor. We were welcomed by friendly staff.. The starter bread and the sauce was amazing. We could have just had that all day. We ordered a mixed Platter for 2 but it was too much food for us to finish. It would have enough for 3 people. The food was flavourfull. Definitely good value for money and worth another visit.

Went on a date with husband, loved the food, the service & everything else. Not knowing the portion size, we ordered too much, but food was too good to go waste, so we packed it to take home. Takeaways are provided free of cost.

Amazing food, the mixed platter was generous and more than enough for five people. All of the different meats were unique and delicious — sometimes you go to a place like this and everything tastes the same, but that was not the case with Istanbul. It was definitely worth the money. The pide bread and dips at the start were delicious. Best Turkish place for miles around in my opinion! We come over from Birmingham to go here.

Delicious mouth watering Turkish BBQ meats over charcoal and freshly made bread, decent portions and a fair price. Lovely stuff, recommended!

I thought we'd go out for Mother's Day to Istanbul restaurant. Although the food was really nice, it was all served up on broken crockery which looked totally appalling and unhygienic, made me cringe as I hate things like that because of all the bacteria which could gather in the cracks and the chipped pieces of cookery. Foodwise it's nice but presentation wise it's poor. Don't think I would be going in back again

My favourite place to eat when I visit Leicester. Been going for last 7 years at least 10 times each year and never had a bad meal. Food is delicious, staff are efficient and restaurant always busy. Lamp chops or ribs on charcoal are A++.

My girlfriend and I had a romantic lunch at Istanbul, she loved the mixed grill and particularly enjoyed the red meat kebab. Her eyes lit up and the juices ozzed out of the meat. The service and staff were lovely and we will return again.

My recent visit to Istanbul restaurant on Narborough Rd in Leicester was nothing short of amazing. I had the pleasure of trying their renowned Kabab Platter, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The restaurant's atmosphere was inviting, with its tasteful decor and soft lighting, creating a cozy and relaxed dining environment. Now, onto the star of the show - the Kabab Platter. It was a culinary masterpiece. The platter featured a medley of grilled meats, each perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The flavors were simply divine, and the meats were incredibly tender and juicy. The variety on the platter allowed me to savor a range of tastes, from the rich and savory lamb to the perfectly spiced chicken. Accompanying the meats were an array of delectable sides, including fresh salads, fluffy rice, and warm, pillowy pita bread. The combination of these elements made for a well-balanced and satisfying meal. What truly stood out, besides the outstanding food, was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, providing recommendations and ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of perfection. In conclusion, Istanbul restaurant on Narborough Rd in Leicester is a culinary gem that I highly recommend. The Kabab Platter is a must-try, offering a symphony of flavors that will delight your taste buds. Whether you're a fan of Middle Eastern cuisine or just looking for a memorable dining experience, Istanbul is the place to go. I can't wait to return and explore more of their menu offerings.

Clean and welcoming atmosphere. We were the only table at the time, so not sure how the service holds up when it's busier, but our food was fresh and with us fairly quickly. Generous portions. The food is definitely worth a try

Chicken Beyti was flavoursome, served with a generous salad and a portion of rice for £13.50. Complementary Turkish tea, bread and condiments were lovely. My only concern would be the young tattooed waiter who served us. I asked for Chicken Beyti and wanted to seek clarification by pointing at a picture of the dish, from which he looked disgruntled/annoyed. This isn’t the kind of service I’m used to, and so felt this took away from the overall experience.

I’m very lucky to live close by to this restaurant. It’s very nice inside, the staff are lovely and the food is amazing. Even when you get a take out it’s still just as nice. Generous portions, free Turkish bread and all at a reasonable price. My favourite is the mix kebab, it’s sort of a mini platter of everything, but the best thing to do is go in a group and order the big sharing platters, they really are enjoyable! Can’t wait to eat there again!

Group of 5 of us travelled from Birmingham to this Turkish. On arrival the place was very busy. We decided to get a family platter. The family platter was enough for 5 of us. The food was cooked well. The lamb chops were very nice. We were given a free cold starter. Very nice of the staff. We will be revisiting again

Istanbul Restaurant delivered a delightful dining experience with delicious kebabs. Finding good Turkish cuisine abroad can be a challenge, but this spot exceeded expectations. The staff's kindness and complimentary Turkish tea added to the charm. Your order of soup and a generous kebab plate for £45, along with a £5 tip, reflected the quality service. Thank you for everything.

The food was amazing, and the staff we're really lovely. We had a chicken shawarma and meat shawarma. Although we thought it would come in a wrap/tortilla it was well presented. They gave us some naan breads whilst we waited for the food and they we're very lovely with service.
