👍👍 Great service and nice food. There is a sign at the entrance saying that an oil with genetically modified soya is being used. I have thought long and hard on how to review this place and I found that breaking it down would be the best way Service: there aren’t enough stars I could possibly give. The staff were amazing, friendly and very professional. Constantly going the extra mile Place: lovely and cozy restaurant Food: poppadoms 5/5 the chutney was delicious Lamb mishkaki: was alright, the lamb itself was nicely spiced but the vegis and sauce around it were alright I believe we got a chicken tawa which was also alright Mixed biryani: I was not impressed by the biryani even though it came highly recommended. Price : 5/5 great price for portions Overall, I would like to go one more time because it has great reviews and truly came highly recommended for their biryani, but maybe it wasnt their day since it was christmas eve when we went

Great service and nice food. There is a sign at the entrance saying that an oil with genetically modified soya is being used. I really appreciate that this business is honest with letting the customer know of the ingredients used. May I suggest to change the oil being used to one that isn’t genetically modified? Then you can take the sign down. There is something alarming about seeing a sign in big red letters when you walk in. A couple of other observations: 1. As soon as you walk in there is a table right in front. This can be quite intimidating for those coming in (and those sitting). 2. The toilets could do with being renewed as the facilities are quite old. Other than that amazing people, service, food and price! Keep up the good work ;)

What a great find. This is a tiny venue, with an intimate atmosphere but without feeling cramped or rushed. The food is highly flavoured and in an individual, not caricatured way. Service is friendly, prompt, helpful, personable. So happy to have eaten here

We visited Teli’s Spicey last night on a short trip from Peterborough. From the moment we walked in and sat down at our reserved table we were met by Jeff who catered for us. Jeff was very polite and made us feel so welcome, the owner and all the staff were very friendly. The food was absolutely outstanding. As the restaurant started filling up the atmosphere was great. The prices of the food was very reasonable and with good portions. This will definitely be our restaurant of choice next time we visit Leicester. The owner also told us the history of the restaurant and the local area. I would give Teli’s Spicy a definite 10 out of 10. Carol, Derek and Kirk

I’ve travelled the World trying different restaurants searching for best food and outstanding hospitality. But sometimes it’s actually just on your door step! This restaurant is grounded, and down to earth. Forget Michelin stars pompous facade. The food and service at Telis is without doubt up there with the best Indian cuisine I’ve had, lamb so tender it melts in you mouth, perfectly spiced gravy and presented portions which says “love” not turnover. But most of all the atmosphere and front of house hospitality gets my 5star here they are all professionals with passion for the experience. 100% I will visit again

Went to this restaurant after the football yesterday on the recommendations of the Google reviews and it lived up to its reputation was met by the owners and Geoff the waiter and really made to feel welcome but the best bit was the food an authentic and well made curry and sundries can’t recommend enough.

Let me start by saying I give totally honest reviews as always. So I give this place 4.75., Unfortunately I can't give a full 5. As we walked in for the first time ever, we were greeted by 1 of the family. Note this a family business and not shirt and tie service. They had table cloths and comfortable chairs. Met 2 of the family and were very welcoming. I was recommended by a friend and was really looking forward to this. I was 100% satisfied.woth my food. Starters jeera wings, chole puri and fish. Starters were all individuals ordered and were 100% great. I tasted the veg ( this was not mine) and give 99% my daughter's fish was perfect. Now my jeera wings, best I have tasted in over 30 years. Full of flavour. I would be happy with just 2 portions and a nan. As I said honest reviews. I know my flavours and realized what I do wrong. Main course. Egg masala. Prawn bhuna with no chili and kuku machusi (chicken). Egg fry rice and egg paratha. No chili was really no chilli. My daughter loved prawn bhuna. We can't find a place that actually listens. They listened. My machusi was best machusi I have tried. Restraunts try but not as well as this. My paratha did not disappoint. I liked it. The egg curry was a bit tomatoish. Was not quite the right taste but we know to order egg machusi. Egg fried rice was very tasty. We had complimentary salad and sauce. So the family were very accomodating. Nicely spoken. Extremely polite. To my surprise they even gave hot wipes. Unfortunately my wife went to wash hands and use the loo. She came straight back down. Somebody messed it up. Ok you can't expect to check after each customer. So 0.25 deduction is reasonable. I WILL definitely go again very soon coz my food was brilliant. Hope to change my score to 5 next time. Very nice family run restaurant.

Visited this wonderful hidden gem situated near to the King Power Stadium with 2 friends and experienced from start to finish, service and food of the highest standard given that the restaurant is a family ran business and pretentiousness is certainly not on the menu. With a laid back, homely atmosphere and feel about the place, the staff were superb in delivering their own style of Indian dining. The food was of a very high standard and very reasonably priced as were the drinks menu. A must visit if you are visiting the area. Thank you to all the staff for a great evening.

Awesome food here. There twist on Indian cuisine with East African home cooking fusion. Their portions and taste of flavours are really good and reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed. If you fancy a change, then it's a good shout. It's a family business, but they believe in quality than quantity.

I had some amazing food at Teli's, unfortunately I only have a picture of the sizzler but the mains were also amazing. The service that they provide is second to none and the food tastes fab. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who love the authentic Indian taste. Please visit you will not be dissapointed.

Had a brilliant meal after the football. Food was on point as usual - the Chicken and Lamb tawa special combo wow. It was nice to have a catch up with the lads as it been a while since i have been. Amazing hospitality from the start to finish! Look forward to get down there again soon. Thanks Gurps

Where to start, the food substandard at best! There was not a single dish that tasted freshly made. The kebabs were tough and rubbery, the biryani was awful. The rice was overcooked almost a microwaved feel. Everything was clearly pre-made and just reheated, and the portion sizes. Tiny. If you order two starters, expect a regular sized single starter from any other respectable restaurant. The wine was warm, you could see bottles kept on top of the fridges generator. The server was brilliant regardless, his service was top notch, probably the only notable mention of quality at this supposedly ‘indian’ restaurant. After a drunken night this place would hit the spot👌🏾

The food here is amazing, l highly recommend. I ordered the pilau rice, curry and tandoori wings and all of this was full of flavour and tasted amazing . The tandoori wings were slightly burnt but still nice therefore this wasn't an issue. Very nice and polite staff.

I looked for a restaurant close to the King Power stadium and found a good review of Teli’s, so chanced it. It was one of the very best meals l have had in a long time. The curries were well spiced with tender meat and great naan breads. The welcome and service were very friendly… you felt like one of their family. The interior furnishings are a little tired , but this positively added to the experience that you were in a true curry house with the locals and family. A brilliant experience and l would recommend highly

We were in Leicester and wanted to eat at an Indian restaurant .Never been here before .We were pleasantly surprised .The family who run this place are so down to earth and really friendly .There were 3 of us and we are all fussy eaters , but this was no problem for Manish and the team .They were so accommodating and generous regarding our order. Thanks again and next time we are up from London we will be sure to eat here.

First of all If could I wouldn’t even give them one star. Do not order from there at all food came very spicy even though I have said mild salty you can’t even put it in your mouth burns did not taste fresh at all the colour of curry wasn’t a curry more of a tomato purée even the taste of it when I called in to tell them nicely about it they just weren’t bothered at all told me to just do whatever I want with it or even chuck it in bin very rude customer service sound nice and sweet when you order from them but nothing near it when you call to tell them there curries don’t even meet the standards I’ve tried so many different places but this one is the worst worst isn’t even the word for it the younge man was so rude on the phone I just said I’m leaving a review he goes fine who cares so please please people trust me it isn’t worth your money or time better order anywhere else but this is the last place do not order from them at all ps had to throw the food away wouldn’t even give it to homeless scared that they might get poised as the chicken was raw
