Lovely walk through Aylestone Meadows and the midway point was King's Lock Tearooms. What a fantastic place for a rest. Really lovely people, great food, lovely coffee. They even have a doggie menu which is fantastic. There is an undercover seating area for inclement weather and a play area for children. Right on the canal (not surprisingly) so easy walking, although paths are a bit uneven. Highly recommended.

Simon, Julie and their team are simply lovely. Their attitude to customer service is amazing and the food is great! It's lovely to be able to sit outside and enjoy the tranquil surroundings, whilst tucking into hot cobs and your favourite beverage - of course, followed by their delicious home made cakes. On offer is also cream tea and the most amazing ice cream! Canine friends are well catered for, doggy sausages, treats and even their own ice cream! Water bowls are readily available. Situated, as it's name suggests, right at the side of King's Lock, there's often the opportunity to watch barges moving up and down the canal and lots of beautiful wildlife to enjoy. A hidden gem.

Popped in for a snack whilst on a ride with friends along the canal. Nice little garden out the back with very reasonable prices and good range of drinks and snacks. Had a very nice cream tea.

We’ve visited the tearooms on many occasions and the outside space is lovely. There are a few tables outside on the front that overlook the canal and at the back there is ample seating with views of the surrounding fields. On our recent visit we opted to sit indoors and were impressed by how cosy, authentic and warm the space was. There is a selection of delicious cakes that we have always enjoyed and recently we opted for tea and scones. There is even a dog menu to treat your beloved pets! The service from the staff is impeccable and you can tell that they are passionate about their business and the service they provide and we have absolutely no faults with them at all.

Nice place first time visiting with my grandad, as an autistic person i find it difficult to go to places like this, but felt very comfortable and welcomed here , caitlin who served us was very nice , friendly had a smile on her face the entire time and had a chat with us, had rum and raisin icecream which was lovely, and a latte, both very delicious, will be visiting here again, P.S would highly recommend if your walking long distances , good place to stop

Lovely , cosy place. Staff very friendly and providing excellent customer service. The location is brilliant if you want to relax in nature . Shame not much space inside, but there are places to sit outside, even in rainy weather. Hope the place lasts!

Called in whilst walking my dog. Good coffee, good sausage bap all at a reasonable price and quick service with a couple of dog treats thrown in. Very dog friendly with a great outdoor covered area for dogs and their owners in case of rain! Haven't been for a while but will be back!

While walking with friends along the canal, we stopped by the Kings Lock Tearooms, we were greeted with a friendly smile from a young member of the staff, the scone and cappuccino were both excellent, you can sit in or out. Would highly recommend.

Been going here for years. Often stop for an ice cream on a nice day. Great coffee and snacks. If you're a dog owner then they have a dog rest spot and sell dog ice cream. A great little cafe.

During a canal walk we discovered this good old fashioned tearoom. Pleasant welcome, good menu, service and food. Lovely views and ambience. Excellent WC! That won't be our last visit. Well done staff.

Lovely little hidden gem! We went for afternoon tea and had a lovely selection of sandwiches, cakes and scones. The only thing that would have made it better was having a choice of sandwiches. There were cheese, ham, egg mayo and tuna. As someone who doesn’t like tuna or egg mayo… it left me swapping with my husband who was sad to see his cheese sandwiches on my plate!

Perfect place to stop during a walk. Love that it is dog friendly. The staff are lovely. My 6 year old declared the lemon drizzle cake to be "the best in the world!" and is desperate to return to try more delicious treats ☺️

After a walk past the tearoom along the canal and the river soar then back the much deserved ice creams were as good as the service. With a Quaint tearoom inside with plenty of seating in the open and covered area in the back it's a great place to spend a few hours losing yourself. A secret peice of tranquillity tucked away on the Rover soar that is Dog friendly. There is Limited parking with approx 10 spaces in the main car Park, but with plenty on the roads in I'd advise parking then walking in the 100-150 meters to make it easier. That way yoy can really earn those fresh baguettes and ice creams!!!
