Abbey park is one of the best parks in Leicester. It is a great outdoor place for a morning or afternoon stroll. Walk or jogging. Has a parking space at entrance. The miniature railway is something I have been waiting to experience. We always enjoy the. Lovely summer weather and play football, cricket etc. There is a lake and there you can feed the geese and swans. Sometimes events take place there specially in summer time mobile amusement park set up and the rides are thrilling!! Though I have trust issues with the stability of the rides. Overall nice ambience and environment. Highly recommended!

Big park close to to the town center a lot of trees flowers birds and fresh air. Perfect for jogging in the morning or walk out your dog. Also nice just to have a stroll. There is a pets corner with different animal as well. The is also a river crossing the park and a late in the park itself. Beautiful landscapes and views INSTAGRAM 👉🏼 ⭐️fly_me_here and flavours_on_plates_ ⭐️

Huge park near city centre. Any one can spend good time here. Very calm place with one cafe inside. Kids got free rope swings inside. The major attraction is the miniature trains. And the best part is that you can actually get a ride on it. The cost of a miniature train ticket is 1.5 pounds per person. Awesome experience. The park has a lake inside and you can find duck everywhere in the pond. You will definitely love it. A must visit place if you’re in Leicester.

Absolutely stunning. Such a lovely park to walk around, so much to see. From a sensory garden, a pets corner, mini railway and a boating lake. Not to mention a beautiful oriental garden. One of the best places to visit, for all ages. Great access too, with a cheap car park. Would absolutely visit again

This is my favorite place in all of Leicester and I just can't get enough of it. Every direction you look there is a beautiful scenery that you cannot take your eyes off. The trees are all trimmed in a very attractive way, and there is a lake full of ducks in the middle. Excellent for a time out with family/friends/date.

Although only a few minutes walk from the town centre, we haven't been there for years!! It's a lovely park with so many different areas for walking, cycling, a weir which the ducks seemed to enjoy and a small train 🚂 track. Some ares left to grow wild which were full of bees 🐝 & butterflies 🦋. The old ruins are impressive with information boards giving a good insight to life all those years ago. This leads into the pets corner and throughout the year a funfair visits too, but you'd have to look up when. So there's something for everyone with free entrance 👋🏼

I love coming to this park for walks and exercise, especially in the mid-morning. It is also a very nice place to come with your family to have picnics, enjoy the kid's park and feed the wildlife in the open water areas they reside in. There is also a ruins area, a miniature railway and lots of other fun things to see and do!

A Very large and well-maintained park, can easily take a full day's time spent. The large play area and swans will keep the kids entertained. There is a small lavender field to add to your entertainment if you visit during the seasons.

Great park not too far from the main centre of Leicester. We headed straight to the Pets Corner (yes us two adults) and could have stayed there for hours! Such a lovely place to walk, enjoy the quiet and look at the ruins.

Amazing park with so many to do and see. We love this park and we come here every time we can. We love the squirrels, the ducks, the gooses, all small and big birds :),everything is so peaceful. If you are up for a picnic, give it a go,it's so nice having one in here. The park is always so clean and very well maintained, flowers everywhere. I am just a bit disappointed about the playground area, for smaller kids because they could have more swings, not only 2 for smaller kids and two for bigger ones, they could have more because when it's busy you have to wait a lot for a swing, but other than that all nice.

It is a must visit spot for people who are visiting for the first time. I think it is one of the best parks in the UK. There is a river, ancient bridge, a lake, big cafe house and roman ruins inside it. I must say the best attraction was especially for the kids but also for adults. The mini trains. It is operating every sunday from 12:30 and tickets for adult 1.5pounds. MiniTrains are real trains with steam engine and that makes them very special. Staff also absolutely friendly. Every visit to Leicester it became my must go to spot.

One of the most beautiful spots in Leicester! Sadly, but to get to the park you have to pass this factory zone with broken windows and graffiti… but after it there is a huge park with magnificent views, huge bright flowerbeds, cute birds, rivers and even a little Asian garden! Highly recommend to visit on Leicester. Must be on your visit list!!!

Went down for Christmas light trail walk - children enjoyed it. More lights throughout the whole path would have made five stars.

Nice park near city centre. Large park with many attractions, China garden theme, historic ruins, playground, a boating Lake, ride on model railway.,animal corner, cafe, and numerous events throughout the year e.g summer festivals, funfairs, fireworks display etc. Some of the activities are seasonal or only operare on certain days through the week.

Nice stroll, a quiet park. Large car park. "Chargeable " please be aware that since the road outside the main entrance has reopened after installing a new bridge and carrying out road upgrades, there are now Bus Lanes...and parking restrictions.

Lovely park. Gets busy when the weather is good. Plenty of parking on site. Disabled bays are provided for those that need them. Pay and display is in operation here. You can feed the wild birds on the river, visit the children's playground, have refreshments in the cafe, or just stroll the extensive grounds. A lovely place for a picnic. BBQs not permitted.

Nice place to visit (minus the mice infestation). Have a picnic, walk, visit the Pet's Corner, play sports etc. Nice cafe, but it's a bit expensive. Nice old ruins to witness too. You can feed the ducks/geese and have a look at the nice water features/fountains. There use to be paddle boats which you could ride for a few pounds, but the service is no longer available. I hope it restarts. Nice play area for children. Toilet facilities, yes, but I've not used them. Bring some change for the car park. Ice-cream van is always on site. Throughout the year they have funfairs and events, though I don't go.

Wonderful large park . It was great to walk and see the Japanese garden, the lake, walk along the River Soar, the old scenic bridge, and of course the ruins of the Abbey and the cathedral Good place to spend an hour or two. Children would love it too!

Well kept gardens, nice walk around. Nice lake in the middle with lots of natural wildlife; fantastic for photography. Also lots of places with shade so great for a picnic (best to take your rubbish with you as there aren't many bins around) The Summer Fun Fair currently takes up a large portion of the main open grounds but there are more open spaces further back towards the Abbey Lane and Arena ends. However paths could do with Jetwashing (there alot more than goosemuck on there!) They also closed off a couple of walk-in entrance/exit points so you could be walking up a path only to realise you're walking into a fence.

Full of landscapes surrounded by flora & fauna. A restaurant and the bridge on soar and nectar garden ... and much more to explore in Leicester. Leicester people are lucky to have such beautiful place to breathe fresh.

Loved the park with the enclosed areas, cafe, Abbey ruins and the open spaces. All we did was walk around and talk while finding little hidden gems along the way.

Nice Park split by the river Soar with open and wooded areas, boating pond with water fountains in, a play park for the children, Abbey ruins, Chinese garden, café and public toilets, car park was reasonably priced at 1 for up to 2 hours on a Saturday.

Lovely park, really close to city centre if wanting to combine the two. It was our first visit and it started to rain. Would be lovely for a picnic in the summer.
