Absolutely amazing for getting some fresh fruits and vegetables. The prices here are very competitive, what's more, I would rather call them cheap, especially if I take into consideration the high quality, size and taste of the products that can be found here. We've tried a couple of things: mangoes, figs, blackberries, etc and were not disappointed. Everything was fresh, looking yummy and tasting even more delicious. Since the number of markets of this sort in the UK is shrinking, this is a true gem that deserves the attention of the public including not just the locals. I've visited it on my day-trip from Cambridge, but after discovering its real value, I'll definitely return here in future. Recommended.

Went to Leicester Market today and it is very clean and all the seafood they sell look fresh and delicious. Here are some of the photos I took. I did buy the crab

You can get good quality fruits and vegetables for very low prices. Almost everything is priced for a pound, so it would be better to carry some coins with you.

Lots of good value fruit and veg, many oriental/Asian specialist veg. too. Sold by lb, kg or 'bowl'! Busy, but unfortunately, multiple empty stalls, unlike pre-pandemic. Most stalls cash only.

Amazing Meat and Produce open air market experience. The market was partially occupied due to rain and Dawali holiday but value buying was obvious. Nice stop visit before continuing walk to "The Lanes" and "Highcross."

First time been there and I quite disappointed. Half of it was empty, other half it was busy. The fruits and vegetables are cheap. Only five stall inside the fish market. Anyway, is a classic historical market that has lots of place to visit around this areas. No harm to go for buying some fruits or vegetable. May be go in weekend would be better.

Nice place. Plenty of fresh produce and great value compared to any supermarket around. Everyone should try local traders and support small independents businesses. You'll be amazed how cheap and fresh their vegetables are. Go, visit and experience for yourself.

The market used to be such a vibrant place. It's now pretty grim to be honest. Not many stalls present except for fruit and vegetables. Saying that, we couldn't even find a Cucumber. I could count on one hand the traders selling non food stuff. I did see a couple of clothes outlets and a vape stall. It's a shame really, but a supermarket would be a better option. Prices are what you would expect in the current climate. Some cheap fruit/veg available.

Feel like I’m back to the post Soviet 90s atmosphere! 😂 looks a bit dirty tho but haven’t looked close to the things. If you wanna buy Gucci for £20, here you go!

Outside is full of Crackheads, good fruit and veg stalls though. Inside is better with some good meat vendors. They should diversify the stalls by reducing the cost to rent the space. Better full then empty which it is by half most of the time.

Mostly the vege and fruits Cheaper and fresher than supermarket. Meat products (pork ribs, chiken breast fillet, cow heels, pork belly/intestines…) are nice with good price. Seafood is a bit expensive. Sometimes the owners r a bit of impatient/rudewhen busy.

The place to find fresh vegetables and fruits in good rates. If you want in very good price then visit the place before half an hour of it's closing time, tentatively around 03:30 pm or after.

Live fruit and general groceries market with various other clothing or household outlets on the periphery. The market itself is amazing with all the fresh produce and an exceptionally brilliant way to save money and get your groceries cheaper than your local supermarket. There also is a fresh fish market close by too.

Yes, it was alright, wait and got some fruit and veg. That's only the reason I went down market but the closed the old one down. Let's 2 years to do, but no one. But they seem to be a bit squashed up. So that could do with that new one. Finishing quick blue light is a great day.

Been a while since I've been here. Overall it had lost the feeling of a market. Not that many stalls were open. The produce sold was of good quality and price was the same for all the stalls. They had bowls full of produce for £1.00 so you are getting a decent amount of produce. This prevents people from picking and choosing but overall it was very good to see that it's still alive. Cheaper than going to a store and paying per kg or pound. Keep it going

This has got to be my best "go to" market where I buy fruits and veggies. Friendly market men and women with affordable prices. You can try them out as well

I, We, have not been to Leicester outdoor market since the big change and individual stalls. It has a totally different 'feel' about it. What surprised me the most, is an unsettling quietness about the Outside Market. We moved to a Tiny Village 31 years ago. We always came to the Market once a week or more. The hustle and bustle were new to us, but we loved it. We thought it may be similar? It is, but, on the other hand, totally different. The Large Oranges are Delicious, so are the Apples, and Monkey Nuts, not leaving out the Tangerine's. Also New Potatoes. I loved the Older Stalls, one knew each other and their customers. I suppose it will get a little getting used to. TBC...

Great place to buy cheap free fruit and veg from local and far.

I'd recommend buying fruits here. Some fruits are great quality for very cheap, especially near closing time. The other stuff there ate questionable and I don't bother looking. I buy certain fruits here all the time instead of supermarkets, that's how good it is.

Lots of fresh fruit and veg at knockout priced. Good fish and meat too. Paid £20 for a whole salmon and £5 for several pork belly slices. Skilful fish cleaning. Stock up. Treat your nearby student children.

First time I've been there and I was quite disappointed. It looks like it might have been a more impressive place in the past and is now a shadow of its former self. Hardly any stalls being used and not much variety.

Multiple options and varieties available. Nice shopper's delight! Actually my first call at all times when I do groceries and house needs. Centrally located so gives me comfort of proximity to bus stop and home. Clean, tidy and timely!

Went there to pick up a few bits and pieces for the dinner. The offers they have there are quite good, the only downside being that they don't take card, which for me is quite important. The fruits and veggies seem fresh and the offer is varied.
