An amazing place for kids and adults alike. I've been wanting to come here for ages. There's loads to see, you can spend many hours here learning about the history of rockets, space travel, the planets and universe. Parking is £3 for the day and there is a canteen for snacks and stuff. There's lots of walking involved and the lift to the top where the tips of the rockets are is impressive! Don't miss the weather recording booth. It's a must and so much fun! You can put your email address in and have the video sent to you. Also one of the best things to see and experience is the largest planetarium in Britain. Be sure to not miss this and tilt your seat back for the show - mind-blowing! There is lots to interact with so beware of queues but the experiences are well worth it.

It was a fantastic place for the family to visit. Very informative and lots of interactive stuff to keep the kids attention too. The Auditorium was really cool and a great experience , a must do while your here. You can bring your own food if you choose too but they do have a decent selection of food here too to choose from and drinks. Decent gift shop also. Would recommend anyone to go that enjoys anything about space.

I took my 3.5 year old child and he loved it. There was almost to much to take in for him. Although he can’t read most of the displays yet he still had a fantastic time interacting with the different areas around the space centre. There is a large ground floor area with a cafe and some different sections to explore, this ground floor has the Patrick Moore planetarium which is well worth a visit, sit in the middle seats for the best experience. There are 4 floors that can be accessed via stairs or lifts, all with excellent displays for all ages. £18.95 for a adult ticket, under 5s free and that ticket allows you to re visit for upto 12 months for free again. Car park is £4 for the full day. Great value for money.

The Space Centre in Leicester was not my choice for a day out but I felt compelled to go and explore as it's on my doorstep. There is plenty to see there and although not my cup of tea I could see thousands of people would disagree and loved it, the car park was large but it was rammed. Children of all ages I could see were captivated by this place which has got to be a good thing , broadening their imagination, plenty of interactive stuff to mess around with. Well done to all the helpful and well informed staff you're doing a great job 👋

Fantastic day out, that good we upgraded to get an annual pass. I don't know who was more excited me or the kids. Plenty to see, lots of interactive stuff available for the kids. Gift shop & restaurant reasonably priced & the staff were approachable & friendly. Even though it was half term it was not as crowded as I dreaded beforehand.

Really enjoyed our visit here and we are already planning our next trip! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. There's so much to read about and a lot of interactive bits for the kids (and also for us as two 30 year olds!) Easy to find, cafe on site for a quick cuppa and snack. Great for all ages!

The entry fee of £18.95 for adults and £16.95 for children felt a bit steep. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn’t quite justify the price. The exhibitions leaned heavily on reading, which didn’t engage my child effectively. The absence of interactive elements made it less appealing for my son, potentially leading to boredom due to the extensive reading required. On a positive note, the Globe cinema stood out, providing a fantastic experience that somewhat compensated for the shortcomings.

First time visiting here and I wasn't disappointed. There was so many information & interactive displays to hand, I found the cafe was a tad expensive but I wasn't prepared to let that spoil my visit. We had been told (via other reviews) that you could spend all day here, I think that it's a bit of a stretch to say "all day" but it's definitely a good few hours. The planetarium was really informative and I liked it very much, but my wife has vertigo and found it almost unbearable so visitors with any form of similar affliction be aware. All in all this visit was "out of this world" 😆

Very interesting but tiring. Children were noisy and some were too young to appreciate it. Adult only days would be good. The planetarium was good but couldn't hear the commentary properly because of the resonance. Thecafé choices not really big enough but reasonably priced.

Came in the afternoon time to avoid being busy. Straight in on arrival. Given a map and staff briefly explain for you. Spacious downstairs, lots of different interactive buttons to press for kids. Pictures and costumes with signs explaining everything. Information facts across the walls. When going upstairs it got quite busy and really hot, especially when waiting for the lifts. Didn't stay up there long as it was quite a small space so wasn't as interesting as the main stuff downstairs. It is good to visit on a rainy day for something to do inside. Was also given a free pass to come back as we booked online. Would probably come back. Long ques to come inside the shows, so didn't bother with that. There is also a cafe for food and drinks and a little shop for gifts.

Such a good day out! Me and my partner spent a good full day here and loved it. We'll definitely be coming back! There's so much to see, loads of interaction in the entire place and the planetarium was mind blowing. Also the food is tasty and really well priced. Would recommend this place to anyone!

Much more to see here than we expected! The different levels and how everything was displayed made the experience more cohesive. We were a couple visiting, but could see there is plenty to keep little ones occupied - even dressing up costumes. We went to one of the shows in the auditorium, about the night sky, which was beautifully presented. The cafe offered a range of food, and at surprisingly low prices. The entrance price, though, is quite high (in my opinion), but you can revisit during the year.

What a fantastic day out. We spent 6 hours there and did not see everything. The planetarium is a must do and the kids and adults will enjoy the lecture on how rockets work (bangs and flashes). There are many interactive displays and lots of information about the space time line. The parking is only £3. for the day and the cafeteria was not too expensive but you can take your own snacks and drink.

Amazing value for money. Great day out with my 3 year old daughter. Very interactive but not entirely kid focussed, which means adults can enjoy a day here, too. Lots of well put together talks and live experiments from knowledgeable staff. The planetarium show we saw was "We Are Astronomers" and it was incredible - i honestly couldn't believe it was included in our ticket price! This place is cearly all about education and keeping the interest of science alive. They really do honour their motto of "science for everyone." Tickets get automatically upgraded to a season pass when pre-booking online. Parking is a set rate of £4 for the day (card and coins accepted). The gift shop is well stocked, with lots of interesting and fun bits and bobs, however it is all very expensive. Personally, i don't think there are enough bathrooms dotted around which made toilet trips with my toddler a bit challenging, however they are the only toilets i have been in that have both toddler and adult seats, which we found very useful. I didn't try the food at the small eatery, but it did smell amazing and would love to try it next time we go. There is a large hall with tables, highchairs etc and even a microwave for public use to eat home brought food/warm up baby food and it is kept constantly clean by the wonderful cleaners. Ultimately, this place is very cool and well worth the visit. I'd highly recommend anyone and everyone go check it out. The few staff i spoke to were kind, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and seemed genuinely excited to work there. Great atmosphere, not too over crowded (even on a Saturday). Great artefacts and lots of information on past, present and future space endeavours. Very interesting place to visit. Lots of various things going on at The Space Centre, so be sure to check out their website for info on upcoming events.

Had a lovely day here. Very impressed with the SEN provision and understanding both at ticket desk and throughout the day. Nice coffee in cafe and not too expensive. Excellent value as you can return as much as you want for a year under the one ticket. Plantatrium show was also great but my chair wouldn't recline, my only minor criticism.

Fabulous place with a ton of knowledge. I think it is too much space to cover in one day. Because it was a Bank Day weekend, it seemed a little bit overcrowded at one point. I think next time we visit the place we will do it during the week so it will give us the whole spectrum of emotions. Highly recommend visiting the Planetarium. This was the cherry on the top of the cake for, as we left it for the end of our visit. It was totally worth it. I highly recommend visiting National Space Center

Very nice place. Definitely a place to visit if you are a space Enthusiasts. It's a family friendly environment and a place highly recommended to take your children so they learn more about what's out there. Loved the video in the planetarium and wait til you see how big a rocket actually is! Spend some time getting to read and learn the history of how humans finally made it space.

Visited here today, not too busy. We stayed 3 hours and it was more than enough to see everything and have a good look around. It cost us nearly £60 to get in Inc parking and guide book. There are lots of interesting things to look at and do, also space inside and outside to take your own picnic etc. Definitely worth a visit.

So after issues with the booking experience and trying to get through on the phone, the staff communicated very quickly through email which helped with the booking process. Arrived on the and entry was smooth. The weather was lovely and there was a nice atmosphere. On entry the café wasn't busy so a quick snack the off to the planetarium show (must watch). Then following the show it's to look around at your leisure. It takes roughly 3 hours in my estimation to go around. The kids loved it with the interactive sections, of which there are many. There's so much information too so if you wanted to take your time reading you have the time to. The sun was out so the top floor felt very hot with the bubbled dome. There were fans on but didn't make much of a difference. A very good day out and will be returning again

Fantastic day out! Spent 5 hours here with my 4 year old. There is loads to do and lots of info to read! The show in the planetarium was out of this world 🌎🚀 (note: little scary for young kids about half way through at the testing bit, but my little boy closed his eyes til that bit was over... some parents did leave with their young kids at this point). You can go right to the top of the rockets they have on show in the seating are (via a lift) and can stop off at other floors where there is more to explore. We had lunch from the cafe which was basic food and didn't really taste of much so would probably take a picnic next time. There was quite a lot on offer in the shop, although it was quite expensive! Friendly staff and nice and clean. We didn't get chance to do everything we wanted to so it's great you can go back for free for 12 months. Looking forward to returning.

Brilliant way to spend the day - so much to see! I went with my 4 and 7 years old children. The 4 year old might be a bit young to understand some parts but there was enough interactive activities for him to do, so he enjoyed the visit. We will definitely be back on a quieter day (we visited on a cloudy Saturday, during the Summer holidays) to see the show in the planetarium and have more time to read all the explanations.

We've absolutely loved spending our Sunday afternoon here! So many captivating things to do and to see! Will definitely come back soon, as we've blitzed through a couple of areas close to closing time. Parking was more than sufficient, but during more popular times it could get busier. It's a pay and display, I think we paid £4 for the day.

Really good experience. Would recommend getting there as soon as it opens as it gets busy later in the day. Fully wheelchair accessible but one of the flight experiences flight to the moon is tight to get about, but it is no problem. Really good experience not to be missed.

Lots to see on 4 levels with interactive displays for children suitable from 5 to well very old. Everything from space suits, to parts of ships and of course the 180 degrees theatre...hold on. All maintained well. Parking just outside for £3. Note you can use your entrance ticket anytime for a year. Place got quieter as the day went on.

Small space day with Mrs Claus We had a great day. All the staff are so nice and helpful. On the way to Mrs Claus was magical. Mrs Claus and elf were so nice. Elfs at the live science show are enthusiastic and fun. My 3 year old had a great time. Crafts stalls are helpful. Nacho and drinks are great. Overall, the place is clean and tidy. Great interactive activities all around. Flying christmas tree is a plus.😆 Again, thank you so much.

I had low expectations when I decided to visit with my wife and 2 and 5 year old children. Don't get me wrong the kids are slightly too young to appreciate this place. However I was not prepared for how I would react. As soon as I walk in I see the Soyuz hanging there right above me. I'm 33 and I suddenly felt 9 again. I turned straight into that excited child. I have not felt like that for a long long time. To come so close to such amazing things that have been into space was spine tingling. Well worth the price of entry and you get a free year pass if you book online. I will be returning maybe childless next time so I can read every last inch of the place. Stunning day out!

Visited the National Space Centre recently and it was really cool. The inside space and attractions are a lot bigger than what the building appears from the outside. The welcoming was pleasant and wasn't crowded, I went with my wife and we are arranging to return with out children soon. Lots of cool information and space equipment and tools to see with some interactive games. The cafe section has the rocket tower which you can explore all the way to the top of the rocket. There is also a weather pod where you record your own forecast and you can have the recording emailed to you. Had a laugh with the my wife doing this. The coolest bit by far was the planetorium show. Amazing, not too long and makes your eyes go funny at first, not ideal for those who get dizzy easily, but otherwise a brilliant show. There is a shop with loads of various space books, toys, clothes etc. However this is out of this world over priced... Whether you find space and space travel interesting or not, I would still recommend a visit. Looking forward to visiting again!

Perfect place to visit with kids. Space shows are quite amazing. They've managed a lot of things in a small place. And also staffs are very friendly and helpful to everyone. Another thing I'm happy about is we bought tickets and these tickets are valid for 1 year, that means we can visit multiple time with the same ticket. We don’t need to pay again. I would love to come back again.

Been a few times, admittedly to the Steampunks in Space event, but always enjoy going have been a space buff from early Apollo flights. Lots to see, although probably not for very small children. Could do with more seating scattered around, including outside as it's quite a walk from car park & the lifts are awkward if you have mobility issues or a push-chair (you have to get off on the 1st floor and walk along to a different lift & that's not easy on crutches & with few places to rest). The queue to get in was also horrendous, despite having pre-booked tickets. There is a cafe & food options are limited but service was very slow, although it was busy. Having said that, it's an interesting & enjoyable place & we will be back.

Absolutely amazing. So good for the money. We went at around 11.30am and explored the first floor and them went upstairs. The girls then had lunch. They have lots of ta les and can take lunch from home or buy something from the cafe. We then watched a show in the planetarium. They have activities I the live arena at certain times which the kids loved. If you buy tickets online ots cheaper and at the moment there's an offer where you can visit all year for free from date of purchase.

A great place for learning so much about space travel, missions, equipment and so much more! Highly recommend visiting to anyone who is interested in space. It might seem costly but definitely worth it! So many interactive things to do as well from watching the shows in the planetarium for a completely immersed 3d experience, to the interactive water area, to landing a luna module there is so much to do while you learn!

Really like this place with the kids, we got a family ticket in Jan and you get to upgrade free to an annual pass so we’ve been loads, it’s good for all ages, my 3 year old and I go the most. It’s good for a hour or you can stretch it the day with the kids. None of us get tired of going up the rocket stages. There are loads of fascinating things to look at interact with and read, we go a lot and always find something new. You can take your own sandwiches and eat at their tables, when it’s busy they open up multiple lunch halls and seem very accommodating. The coffees and hot drinks are very nice and reasonably priced, the food is limited. The toddler days are very good with activities and sing songs and the like, be warned some of the days are premium and you won’t get in with an annual pass. The shop has some good bits for under a fiver for the kids with the pens, pencils, badges and things like that, there are some expensive things as well. A good trip out with the kids.

1st time visiting and my son loved it, he wants to be an astronaut. Not as big as we thought but we still enjoyed the experience. Tickets purchased online are automatically upgraded to an annual pass which is great! However after 1st use, when returning and require access to the planetarium you'll have to pay a small additional fee. We will definitely be back.

Wouldn't advise to go during the school holidays as it was a little maniac but that was my error for not thinking. Very educational experience which also was very interactive. What a fantastic day out! We were making a long trip up north day before new year's on a Sunday, so thought perfect place to make a stop to let the kids stretch thier legs. £18.95 for an annual ticket and under 5s go free. Nice clean toilets which were sort of like a space ship, large cafe and seating area no queuing, food wise nothing for my fussy toddlers (5 and 3 year old), adults they had jacket potatoes and nachos, sandwiches. Lots to see and touch, the large interactive floor was my 3 year olds favourite, a 4d ride was also brilliant highly recommend. I didn't actually go up the floors but we spent 2 hours on the ground floor and both my kids really enjoyed looking at everything. Unfortunately did miss the show so didn't go into the cinema area or whatever you call it, because my 3 year old just too busy exploring the place. I'd love to come again. Overall the staff members I came across were really lovely a special shout out to the red hijabi at the check in desk spoke really nicely to my over excited 5 year old.

Loved visiting the National Space Centre today. There is so much to learn & explore for both adults and children alike, including an awesome planetarium show which last for roughly 30 minutes. My kids particularly enjoyed the giant orbit earth, the weather pad, the worm hole tunnel and the mock "into space" station. They were also intrigued by the space toilet😄. We weren't able to explore all the station, as we realised we would need almost a full day for that. The gift shop is also worth a visit, it's stacked with a variety of items and treats which are reasonably priced. I found the cafe to be alittle bit expensive for drinks and snacks. All in all we had a fantastic day and will definitely be going back for a day out

Spectacular place to visit for all aged and types ,very wheel chair friendly. Can host huge groups and do venue events like weddings ect. So much to see in one day that it take the day to fully take in and enjoy. Segmented areas of Interests by topic. Deeply I formative about space and the wider universe. Impacts you as soon as you enter the site, real artifact small and to the huge. (Pic above) Food venues with varieties to choose from. Staff willing to assist if you need anything. Parking is easy and all in doors, so no need to worry about weather issues. Interactive planetarium and guide. Interactive displays to keep children and adults a like immersed in the topics and engaged. Well worth the visit!

Amazing. Visited here in the spare of the moment and I have to say it was great. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. As a disabled person using mobility aids the staff couldn’t do enough to help me or my family. The planetarium is just the best, jaw dropping doesn’t even come close to describing the experience. The exhibits are detailed with the information they provide, the interactive experience of most of the exhibits is great for all ages. As a family eating and drinking whilst out can be expensive but the prices here are reasonable and the food is really good quality. I would highly recommend visiting here and I for one will definitely be returning in the near future.
