Stunning, Serene, Natural gardens. Loved every moment of this place. New things to see round every corner. The children loved this place, it was like they were 'exploring' and having an 'adventure'. Lovely large pond with lots of fishes too. A beautiful afternoon walk. Will most definitely be visiting again.......... Tomorrow!!! 😆😆😆😆

Calm and beautiful place for walking in oadby village. Open till 5 pm during summer. This place offers both calming and educational experience for the visitors. Have several green houses and specific zones that consists distinct species. It's joyous to see numerous bees in their natural habitat after a long time.

Love walking around these gardens, they change so much through the seasons. Beautiful plants and flowers, huge carp in their pond, lots of areas to explore. Places to sit, toilets too. Regularly visit these gardens. Park right outside or I belive there is another opening with a car park.

Love visiting here for an afternoon's outing with the children, ages 7 and 4. Plenty to see and do. The fish always cause a lot of excitement and the different plant houses: Cactus, Tropical, are a 'must see'.

We walked just over a mile to the gardens and spent a few hours enjoying the preparation for Spring Blooms. With Fall just beginning, the colors of many trees were gorgeous. We were not expecting Spring perfection but certaining imagined their glory. The trees, bushes and fall flowers were enough with majestic brick buildings and out structures in the background. With three weeks of rain, the grounds were saturated but beautiful nonetheless.

Great place even at winter time. Was lovely to see the warm houses with a variety of plants, cactuses and flowers. Interesting buildings on the land, would be lovely to be able to see inside.

Lovely little gem in Leicester. The gardens are the perfect place to come for a relaxing stroll. They have a nice wide array of herbs, flowers and trees. The gardens are also well-kept. Plant enthusiasts and non plant enthusiasts both alike will enjoy having a walkabout here.

Beautiful grounds with lots of trees and plants. The greenhouses are well worth a look at with a lot of cactus of impressive size. One cactus only flowers 25 - 30 years and it had just flowered.( I probably will not be around for the next time 🤣). It is free to enter so win win couple of hours.

I love this place. There are so many wonderful and often unusual specimens to see and it is always a delight to visit at any time of the year. When we visited, the fuchsia collection was looking magnificent. The trees and shrubs are always so special and the Caucasian Oak tree was looking completely amazing. In addition the herbs are a major feature and the acers are graceful and elegant. Visiting here always lifts my spirits and it gives me a real sense of joy. To sum up, this place is an absolute treasure and a real credit not only to the University of Leicester but to the city too. Visited again to-day....still fantastic!

Worth a visit but not at its best in April, looks like it'll be a picture ina few more weeks. The greenhouses are only open Mon to Fri, do keep that in mind if you wanted to see the desert plants, Alpines etc.

Lovely spot for a peaceful walk, and to learn about tree varieties. Free on-road parking near the entrance gate, and well-marked pathways to the different gardens within. Toilets open and clean, even on a Sunday close to dusk. Lots to explore, can't wait to visit again in the spring/summer when there will be more colour and the greenhouses open.

An extensive amount of plants, shrubs & trees. The gardens are well laid out and meander around the architecturally interesting buildings.

Very calming with a beautiful selection of plants and easy to walk around, well sign posted. A few wrong labels and weeds made me feel much better about my own garden 😊

Very pleasant relaxing gardens and arboretum with easy parking on the road outside. Several glasshouses - I found the desert landscape one the most interesting. We'll cared for. Free entry. Lots of space for children to run around. Doesn't have many sculptures etc scattered round the garden now. I used to like the summer only cafe - the University are considering starting another.

Beautiful peaceful place, I can really see the care and attention that has been put into this beauty, so scenic, came on a day the greenhouse was shut and some works were being carried out, but I would return.

We came here to get some refreshed family pictures done after lockdown and we weren't disappointed, it's such a beautiful and calming place to go and the perfect backdrop for pictures, highly recommend for anything, pictures, walks etc.

Leicester Botanical Gardens are a beautiful gem within Leicester. The gardens are well kept by the gardeners and ground staff. It's a place that isn't frequented as much as the other parks within Leicester. This makes it an ideal place to go on a lovely summers day without the crowds of people you'd expect in other Leicester parks. The plants, flowers and tree specimens are absolutely amazing. You have to sometimes pinch yourself to remind yourself that you're actually in Leicester! Great place to visit, take some tea, cake and a picnic blanket and plonk yourself in a secluded corner!

Gently mixing up formal and natural elements in this garden of many parts and many delights. There are botanical themes, as well as sculptural elements, with formal ponds, and some well weathered red brick houses that serve as faculties to the university. A little green jewel in a city that is otherwise very dense and urban
