A decent day out if your a walking family. Bird feed given at the entrance but birds were elusive today 🤷‍♂️ Pretty run down and not worth the entrance fee being so high. Very few places for any adult to sit and definitely not disabled or child buggy friendly unless you have the 4x4 model. Parking was horrendous. Electrical fittings hanging all over the place and even at young child height. Fences hanging outwards onto paths and buildings looking like we're going to fall down. Water was stagnant in most parts and what I can only presume is the Xmas fake snow is still covering everything but obviously dirty and grubby after months worth of being left. Bins overflowed and stock in the dirty pop up shops was non existent apart from the things nobody wants. Nettles as high as a bus everywhere!! 😂 Childs play area looked like a building the local kids had made and the benches were so old and creaky I honestly thought they were going to split 😂 Extra costs inside. £10 for a Swan pedalo for 30 minutes 😂 I mean come on.. all in all a nice hot day in the sun with some nice walking which all could of been done for free at any outdoor place without the costings involved but horrific at the same time 😂😂 Checked off the list but I will be finding better places in the future and will not return. There are much better places nearby so look around and always check the reviews!!

Wonderful place to visit. Plenty to do. Barefoot walk is always fun and cold haha. The train ride to the waterside is free so any kids who loves trains can go on as much as they like. You can book activities at reception if you want to to the high rope climbing, archer and pedalos to name a few. Nice walks around and the fun of the adventure trail where there is plenty to climb on..

Warm welcome for a very busy bonfire night. However disabled parking wasn't clearly marked for the main entrance to the park. So, I ended up pushing a wheelchair in the dark over uneven and dangerous paths. Being a late evening event, I would hope a guide to parking for wheelchair users/severe needs would be updated online. First time visit for us. Even after printing out disabled information. We still drove round looking for main entrance. Which seemed to be blocked off by cones . No signal in the pre book area meant we had to confirm tickets by name. Staff were amazing at this point. May also benefit from a disabled area to watch the fireworks. Stood in the mud the wheelchair was a struggle. The event itself was busy but well managed. Queues were fast moving and staff were friendly.

We had an amazing day out at Conkers. We were there the whole day but couldn't quite manage to do everything that they have to offer. Highlights were the splash park, the barefoot muddy walk and the activity trail. The activity trail was brilliant as there were things for both my 3 and 6 year old to do and it kept them both challenged. There are also lovely walks to explore. Also highly recommend the 4D cinema - it was so much fun! We ate lunch there in the cafe. Couldn't fault the food or the service. They also have a great indoor museum where kids can learn all about animals, the environment and the importance of looking after our planet.

We went for the winter wonderland. Its all well thought out and organised. Lots of mechanical Christmas animals. We got on the train which was operated by lovely conductors and had lovely chats with them while being taken to the winter wonderland. We got off and made our way over to the elf walk. The door opens and leads to pure magic! Fake (but really good) snow everywhere to the point where it looked real! My kids loved it. The walk was really nice. Lots of Christmas lights and things to see. We made our way over to the elves where we had a photo taken (we forgot to grab it though 😭). The elves were so friendly and kept the kids entertained during the wait. We came in the morning so a lot was just starting to function and it wasn't very busy so it was great. It got much busier as time went on but it was still well organised. We saw an extremely convincing santa after waiting under heat lamps (good touch) and he was lovely. The hut he was in was warm and looked so cosy. We got given a ticket to get presents so off we went to get our presents. We made some reindeer food and my 3 kids picked some amazing gifts. The ones they had to offer were actually really really good. I thought we'd have to pay extra for some because they were so good! They even had an option for a surprise present which was wrapped but labelled girl/boy and an age so it would be appropriate. They had balloon modelling but we were a bit too early for that. We then made our way back to collect our mulled wine and adult treat which was a brownie. It was delicious. The kids gingerbread men treats were so lovely too! We then watched a dippy the elf show which was great fun and we all had a delicious hot chocolate and a wonderful warm pastry. We caught the train back to the main area and indulged our eldest in the ferris wheel, she had a blast. The ice rink was great and the gift shop was so lovely! It had a coal mining exhibition which was free and extremely interesting. The gift shop was very reasonable too my daughter picked up a sparkly santa hat for £1.99! We were also given lots of activities to do on our walk which was good fun. Overall a 10/10 and well worth the money. Thank you Conkers!

Came here for our first time on a weekend using our tesco clubcard points. (Big help as it's pricey for a family of 5). We had a lovely hot chocolate to begin with after driving an hour and half to get here. Toilets were clean but only 2 in the female. Which could cause ques? Outside you are greeted with a playground as well as a water splash area. So bring extra clothes (not just for mud). As you start on your walk you choose what path you want to go on we did the activity trail first. It had loads of climbing frames. My 9 and 7 year old smashed it however we had to help my 4 year old which is fine. Picked some black berries along the way :) We also did the sensory trail which was one of the best bits. Lots of colours and surprise box's to put your hands in. We enjoyed going on the bridge too. There is a 4d cinema which shows a film about how to keep the world clean and animals safe. My little one found it a little scary as when the snake comes on screen it hisses and the bar infront of us sprayed wind and a little water but us adults thought it was brilliant. Didn't see any signs about this but maybe I just didn't look. Caught up in the excitement. There was plenty of ice cream and a cafe if your hungry. Inside there is a big interactive floor screen with fishes on and children including mine (and the husband) enjoyed stepping on them. Very busy when it rained. This is near the 4d cinema so while you wait kids can be entertained. The balloon man/stall was near to this too (he accepted card and cash). We went on the train which takes customers to another playground. We didn't get to go as it rained so stayed on train however we could have come back etc. We also went on the Swan pedalos £10 £10 for 30mins. If I'm honest it was a waste of time as the lake isn't very big its roped off so you don't go far. Still hurts your legs cycling. Maybe better if it was £5 for 15minutes.... On our walk we also found some sand tables which you brush to find the dinosaur print. So keep your eyes open. Bring a picnic and enjoy :)

Having never been here before (concerts excluded) I wasn't sure what to expect .. it was a brilliant place! Two 6 year olds and a 9 year old had a fabulous time. Climbing and getting extremely muddy on the adventure trail was the highlight of the day .. so much they tackled the course twice! Then they found the indoor educational play area .. fabulous .. they went back twice they loved it so much! Ice-skating was not as hard as I remember ... Great fun and the young people in charge were super helpful! I heartily commend them for their enthusiasm and helpfulness! The 4d cinema was an experience enjoyed by the 9 year old more than the 6year olds but still great! Conkers is worth any awards / any commendations it's put forward for .. it's a fabulous family day out whatever time of year!

Excellent place to visit with baby and children. The barefoot walk and many other outdoor activities were perfect for an adventurous 6 year old. Well designed for all ages and conveniently mapped out when you need to stop for a comfort break. A great combination of safe nature-based fun with artistic elements.

Visited here with the kids and we all loved every minute. Great atmosphere, not massively busy, and all staff were very good. Food in the cafe was nice and reasonably priced. Play areas are big and clean. All the activities were very good too. Will definatley go again

Second visit at a different time of season and still a great place to adventure with the kids. Obviously it's better in Spring/Summer but even on a cold dry day (3°c today) it's a place that combine a good stretch of walking with climbing and exploring. With a fit an healthy 5 year old 2 1/2 hours today of nonstop action done the trick. The summer he lasted longer but that including ice cream breaks and it's obviously warmer (total time 4 hours)

We took kids during school holidays, you can see lots of people before you enter but once you in, everyone goes their own way. Lots of things to do with kids age 6. Absolutely great value for money. Staff were very helpful. We took our own food and had a picnic, lots of lovely place where you can sit and enjoy.

Great place for families, price is reasonable. Parking is free and only short walk to entrance. Plenty of play areas suitable for kids under 10 years old. The 4D cinema was a great experience. Worth a visit. There are regular shows taking place in the amphitheatre.

We loved it here travelled an hour on new year's Eve and it was brilliant my 6 and 2 year old loved it and we have got annual passes. Brilliant 4D cinema and lovely parks and walks!

Busy on a bank holiday, would advise to buy tickets online for their main attractions. Like archer, zipline, most of the playgrounds are free. You have to pay extra for the other attractions. But it's only £9 to enter. It is better to get a family pass for a year £100. But daughter enjoyed the day out. 1st time for us and a lot of walking, make sure you take a lot of fluids.

Great range of indoor and outdoor facilities that kept my four children (11 months, 4, 8 and 11) busy for the whole day. They particularly enjoyed the activity trail outside, the train ride, the sensory barefoot walk (take a towel), indoor play area and the 4D cinema. Good range of snacks, hot drinks, ice creams and waffles 🧇 😋 and good toilets.

Had a really wonderful experience here today, the train was fantastic and the gentleman who ran the train were so witty and caring. The only drawback was upon entering the woman at reception came across quote rude and blunt. We paid in advance for bird and fish food and wasn't given it, I reminded the lady what we have paid for and she huffed and chucked the bags of seed onto the desk with a lot of attitude. Wasn't off to the best start but ended with a smile as the lady in the gift shop was a pleasure to deal with.

Great place to take the kids. Reasonably priced, lots to do, pleasant, helpful staff. A 4D cinema shows a short movie that's great fun to watch. A small train takes you to a really good play area. Pedalos available for £10 for 30 mins, taking up to 4 people. Lots of places to buy reasonably priced food and drink.

Loved Conkers at Halloween. The spooky train journey, the 4D cinema, the activity trail, the high & low ropes, we also booked onto the Bush craft ranger activity and built a shelter and a 🔥...toasting marshmallows/smores. It was a great day out and didn't even do it all. We used clubcard vouchers but still really good value. If it wasn't 1.5 hour journey for us I'd invest in an annual pass.

Yes this place could do with a bit of TLC in areas and a few upgrades but for the price you pay factored with there being plenty to do for the kids - it’s great! I was put off a bit before my 1st visit from reading reviews on here but I ended up signing up for a family annual pass before I left. Go twice more and you’ve saved money already. I have a 5 year old and a 1 year old. They both love it here. The ‘splash park’ is more a playground with a few sprinklers but my youngest loved running around them and putting his hands in the water. Other kids seemed to love it too especially the younger ones. There are a few other playgrounds there including an adventure one which looked great fun and also a decent sized one which you catch the train to (where there is also a small soft play). Both my kids loved the barefoot walk and going through the fairy maze. There are high rope and low rope activities available too on holidays and weekends. My 5 year old loved the low ropes. The instructors were amazing and patient with her and my niece and made it enjoyable for them. It was £5 extra (which some on here moan about - but it helps keep the base rate down as low as it is and enables those who really want to do it to be able to). I think it’s catered for kids up to the age of 12. Someone said here there’s nothing for under 8s here - dunno what planet they’re on. Like I said for the money you pay and for the enjoyment the kids have - this is why I’ve given 5*. Improvements needed: - The indoor interactive area has definitely seen out its life now and needs updating. It’s a big area but most exhibits are broken. They should get rid of these areas and just extend the soft play there. They could make it from 100% recycled materials to maintain the theme/values. This would surely attract more people so would be profitable for CONKERS. - The sensory walk is rubbish. Old battered bird boxes with broken flaps on the front that you put your hand in to feel things such as a rope, broom brush. It’s very underwhelming and they’re too high for kids to properly reach. The couple of times I’ve been here I’ve not seen people use this. - The Swans - We went on the swan pedalos too which was ok but vastly overpriced at £10. Should be £5 max. More people would do it then. But the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. If you’re unsure just try it as it’s a cheap day out really.

We were last to leave. It was lovely. Plenty to do and lovely staff. The only downside is the toilets and disabled toilets. I could not comfortably change my stoma bag. The place will get a stoma friendly sticker when the toilet is up to standards.

Love Conkers! Been going over the last 10 years seeing the forest grow and develop, as has Conkers itself. Great fun for all the family, who love the outdoors, adventure trails, mazes and learning about nature and conservation. They keep adding extra activities ( tree top trail and pedalo boats.) Cafe and shop on site.

Absolutely beautiful place. So much to do, including for the grown ups. My only minor complaint was that we were weren't made aware that we had to book things like the soft play, archery and climbing area right back at the start. The 4D cinema experience is free which was a nice added bonus. Make sure you take drinks because you can only buy at them at the café and once you get off of the train.

  • 5/5 Carl S. 7 months ago on Google
Go back to basics and get some exercise and fresh air. No computer games, no WiFi, just good old-fashioned get down and dirty fun. There is a 4D cinema for those that can't do without technology, but it did our kids the world of good....

Absolutely amazing place for the whole family. Soo much to do, activity trails which adults can join in with to help their kids, barefoot trail, swan boats, train ride, plenty of parks. Big open spaces for picnics, blackberry picking, obviously depending on time of year. We ended up buying a membership when leaving for a family of 4, and they take off your entry money for that day. Very much worth it

  • 2/5 Clare G. 7 months ago on Google
Not worth the price! We had a good day but we are struggling to understand what we paid the £35+ entrance fee for. It is basically a glorified park with lots of walking and outdoor play areas. There is a free train included which was good. The sensory garden was very run down. We found the whole park to be very run down, especially the inside area where none of the "interactive" buttons etc were working. The 4D cinema was included in the entrance fee but it was boring - our kids wanted to leave half way through but we made them stay. All of the fun stuff you see advertised (high ropes, climbing wall, boats, indoor soft play etc) is an additional charge which we couldn't afford after paying the entrance fee. They also sell bird food and fish food, but we didn't see any birds or fish! Just ducks. We had a nice day out but wouldn't return. Total rip off.

Brilliant day out with the kids. Upgraded to annual pass for extra £20 for all 3 kids. Excellent water play area and adventure area. Staff were brilliant

Beautiful fun filled day. We thought it was good value for money. Some activities need to be paid for as extra but we spent 7 hours here and didn't feel the need for any of the extra cost activities. We have 2 boys aged 6 and 9 and they loved all the play areas and building dens.

We visited in August 2021 for the first time and had a great day out. The children have been asking to go back so we did this week. Conkers is fun for all ages with barefoot walks, playgrounds, assault courses, mazes and waterpark.

Absolutely brilliant place for a family day out, wish we had been here before. There's multiple outdoor play areas for different age groups plenty of indoor things to do too if your comfortable being inside, wasn't too busy either will definitely visit again well worth every penny

Genuinely a great day out with the kids. 5 kids 3 adults and there was something fir everyone to do. The high ropes was a little disjointed in the staff approach but this didn't detract from the fun we had. A good space for kids to run around safely with plenty of included activities for kids to climb on and get some exercise. If you live locally you get money off the annual membership too.

For the price this is a really good day out The addition of the splash pad is great fun for kids...take spare clothes! There is pond fishing, magic show, and my kids loved taking their shoes off and paddling through the mucky water trail! The park is good and there is plenty to do for free. Take a towel with you. Downsides...cafes lack choice, main one wasnt open which served pizza so we eneded up with hot dogs. 4D cinema wasnt 4D and told afterwards the projector wasnt working. Inside there is lots that is broken and needs repair which is a shame. Its a full day out though come rain or shine and gives kids a sense of being with nature amd doing what kids do Best getting mucky and using their imagination. Doesnt get too busy. The little train to the park and magic show is a real treat amd saves the legs!

Visited for Bonfire night. Great attractions and firework display. Kids enjoyed their time. Took a star off for enormous queues. If you plan an event that big make sure grown ups don't have to wait 40min in queue(right next to kids attractions) to get warm food. More caterers or more staff would have been better.

A nice little dog walking park as well as being great for kids. This park is really nice and is huge, with plenty of nice scenery and walking spots for visitors and locals. The park also includes plenty of cycling routes and nice cafes for you to stop off at when walking/cycling through. There is also plenty of wildlife to be explored when visiting. Highly recommend.

First time we have been and my kids enjoyed it. The parking is free and when you enter there is options to buy tickets or scan pre booked tickets- the latter is advised. We were offered a time for 4d cinema experience. The lady who served me whizzed me through as there was a big queue but it would have been helpful to be told a little about the extras as we fond out that the high ropes were something that you need to book and pay extra for when you arrive but because we didn't go here until half way through our day, we missed out. The train was not running either on our visit, which was slightly dissapointing. The kids enjoyed the indoor adventure playground and slide, although it's a shame that this got overcrowded and my children and another family became upset when others swore at them and hit them. This area is not staffed and some parents just leave their kids to it! The bare foot walk was great fun! The outdoor climbing adventure equipment was also really fun and enjoyable. The queue for cafe was a long wait, loads of places to sit and taking your own picnic is advisable. I only wanted a cup of tea so asked if there was a kiosk or anywhere else to get a hot drink, the chap I asked said no there is only the cafe. After waiting 15 mins I gave feedback about this to the lady on the till and she said that there is a kiosk just outside by the park selling icecreams and drinks! Slightly annoying! A long day spent mooching around with my 8 and 9 year old and there was plenty to do and keep entertained!

Great day out as always at Conkers. Lots to see and do and the staff are always friendly. Some exhibits are showing their age and look a bit tired now (especially in thr Dicovery Centre) and need a bit of a spruce up but other than that it is still a great day out.

I haven't been to Conkers for nearly 20 years and the place is still as lovely. Take a picnic and some spare clothes for the kids (there is a water play area). Overall great value for money, a great place to visit & have some fun. PS. Loved the toadstools 🍄🍄🍄

This is a great place to visit, it's reasonably priced to enter which includes a free 4d cinema ticket. You can also purchase extra tickets for high ropes/low ropes, rock climbing, zip wire, leap of faith, archery, go karting, pedal swans. There's quite a few different play areas dotted around all which are great fun, I would recommend bringing swim wear and a towel as there is a splash pad as soon as you arrive. The bare foot walk is great fun and I would recommend taking part in the assault course which is also alot of fun, we caught the last train ride and went to park at the end of the day, on our way out we noticed there was also a soft play area in the nearby building which we didn't know was there

We have a season pass, so We go regularly...it's a great afternoon out with the kids. The place is huge, and there is hours of outdoor fun to be had. The inside play area is great too!
