I've been enjoying walking at Beacon Hill Country Park for many years and it just keeps getting better and better. The views and walking routes are fantastic, well maintained and not muddy when wet conditions. There are 2 decent sized car parks, toilets and a reasonably priced cafe. There is a children's playground and picnic tables. The park has some amazing wood carvings and a Labyrinth to explore. A well signed tree trail is another excellent space to explore.

I love this place it has lovely woodland walks, loads of stuff to keep the kids interested, beautiful pine trees and mature beech trees the paths are good and even provision of tarmac on some parts. When you get to the top of beacon hill the views are amazing , 360 degrees. The cafe is good too lots of pastries cakes toasties and some good vegan options. Car parking you can pay on your card no cash required. Great for a bit of fresh air and nature.

Great place to take your dog for a walk as the walk is about 2 miles around. Has many paths leading to play areas for the kids, wildlife areas and rocky outcrops. Dogs are a loud off lead, but only at certain times of the year. Signs tell you when they need to be on lead and where. Can get very very busy in summer with both the top and bottom car park full to the brim. Car park system works on a barrier system and a ticket is given which has to be paid at the machine on exit.

A small but interesting park. Steep climb to the top of the hill ..but fab views across Leicestershire. The rocks are super old and part of ancient volcanic activities. Lovely little cafe and small play area for younger children. Also, a tree walk with interesting facts about our native trees!

Lovely park to explore and different things to see. There are some beautiful paths with trees lining either side and in the autumn it's just perfect. A few cafes dotted around as well, so plenty of places to stop for a coffee. The park is dog friendly, but they recommend having him on the leash in a lot of areas. Beautiful park with stunning views and I will definitely be coming back.

Very nice place to visit. Acres of open space and maintained trails to peruse, with excellent views from the top of the hill. Clearly marked trail to the top from the lower or upper car parks. The forested area has a trail for children with carved sculptures. Can be muddy in the winter so dress for the weather.

If you need a place to relax a little bit this is the perfect place. You can have a picnic here, you can walk, you can admire Loughborough, you can see old cliffs and many, many, more.

Stumbled across Beacon hill on chance. Wonderful walk with dog on the National Forest trail. The beacon itself was very clean and pleasant. Nice rural views all around

Beautiful place for a walk and plenty of spaces for a quick picnic. Different trails suited to all, from wheelchair/ pushchair routes to trickier ones up and over the rocks. Spectacular views all round.

Fantastic beauty spot with panoramic views of Leicestershire once you reach the top. The weather was as dramatic as this place which only added to the atmosphere. Plenty of space to park with well kept facilities. We will be back!

Beautiful place with beautiful views. Can walk around the hill but also footpaths around the base. There's playgrounds at both of the car parks with picnic areas. Toilets are open but 1 person in at a time. Can pay for parking by card. At the lower end of Beacon Hill is the Labyrinth. A walk way that goes through rohdadendrons ( sorry about the spelling! ). Kids love it. Xx

A great day out. Not too busy but not too quiet... Great for walks of all levels. If you get the PDF from the website you'll see the coded walk trails which are also signposted around the park. Lovely views from the summit. There's a cafe by the lower car park which appeared to be ok, however I didn't use it. Car park prices are not bad at all either

One of the best parks in Leicester. Great views, very peaceful and a few nice footpaths to take around the park. It's very similar to Bradgate park in my opinion, which is also very close to this park, you can see it from top of the hill

The views from the top are fantastic, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and of course Loughborough are all in view. The rocky outcrops at the top are great for exploring and the paths are interesting with a variety of plants and animals to see.

Beacon Hill is a truly spectacular place offering panoramic views of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, etc. The Hill itself has wonderful grassland and a top the peak an array of jagged rocks and crevices. There is a car park on site that you can pay to use should you choose to visit via car. Alternatively there are ample bike and hike routes to get to this place. I’d highly recommend a visit on a clear day so that you can really appreciate the views you can get from the peak.

Fantastic place to while away a morning/afternoon, little play area for children with a cafe and ice cream van, the walk through the woods up the hill are pleasant, the top of the hill as some nice views with little rock formations that can be climbed, be careful though as the rocks are sharp

Lovely country park with a combination of multi-use paths (pedestrians, bikes, horses etc) and pedestrian only routes. Has 'Covid-safe' parking meter and reasonable charges. Lovely park with great views of Leicestershire.

Usually come here once a week in the spring and summer then most days in the winter to walk the dogs, it’s a great little walk dog friendly and the paths are great when the weather is poor, doesn’t get muddy. There’s a nice little tearoom (not open at present, dam you COVID 🙂) affordable and dog friendly

Beautiful place to visit. Nice views aswell. So peaceful! It was foggy when I visited but that made it all the more quiet and fresh. You could still just about see the views, and I loved it. You could walk around for hours. Different trails to walk on too. Plenty of entrances and parking! Shall visit again to go on a different trail.

Beautiful country park with good facilities, not too large but enough too keep every age occupied. It has ancient history of the rock formation and bronze age settlement. The longhorn cattle grazing in surrounding area make up the early settlers feeling. Easy to ramble and once reaches the summit, one will be rewarded with beautiful panoramic scene.

Great day at Beacon Hill today. There are two car parks and facilities at each one. There's also a café at the lower car park serving hot drinks, cakes, pasties and the like. There are two play parks and lots of amazing sculptures around the site. We enjoyed the blue and red trail walks, looking at the hill fort and newly planted native woodland and the incredible views. Loved seeing the highland cattle and alpacas grazing too!

Huge park land to roam around for free (pay to park @£2.50). Kids will love the Labyrinth and the hidden tree sculptures. Up the hill from the car park and you will find the wood yard on the left. Full of cut logs and part finished works for this park and elsewhere. I spotted a large named over gate for somewhere I never heard off…

Real nice for a Saturday/Sunday walk. Did the hill twice, would recommend going up the first hill adjacent to the car park for a decent workout and some nice views too (you can see Nottingham on a clear day). The trail does have leaves on the ground this time of year and can be slippery if there is dew/ice on them so good footwear is recommended. If I had to be picky, given how busy the park is at weekends, it would be nice to have more refreshment vans serving teas/coffees/snacks than just the central cafe which has a very long queue. Also, the park doesn't have so much about it to justify the £3 parking fee. Bradgate Park would be a better shout in my opinion.

Interesting park. Playground, maze, good walk to the beacon, 2 car parks each with ice creams and toilets. Interesting cattle. Lost one star because the gents was "closed until further notice" at our car park - I can't visit a park without a loo.

I went Saturday with my family and this was the first time I had went there so I did not know what to expect. But went we got up to the top of this steep hill, the view was amazing so we could probably see about 2 miles or more. The labyrinth was quite fun. I wish to go again.

I use Beacon Hill as part of a dog walk. There are numerous dog waste bins and the two car parks are reasonably big but can get crowded in the summer. There is a car park charge, currently £3.50. There is now a cafe in the south car park near the arboretum and picnic area. I thoroughly recommend this place, can easily spend a day here as there are numerous walks and if you take a picnic you can get drinks from the cafe. There is also Rotary Club natural play area for the little ones. If you are lucky you can see the sculptor at work. There are always examples of his work on display. The crags in the park are also used by climbers on summer evenings.

Such a beautiful place to walk around, loving all the wooden sculptures as well, especially in the Labyrinth, which is on the blue walking route. It makes you feel as though you are in a magical woodland! Some lovely areas to have a picnic and some great history from the bronze age as well, also has toilets.

I love Beacon hill. I have been there many times in my life. Pushchair friendly, great views and lots of exciting things for the kids. My only complaint is the parking at busy times. we visited on my birthday (27th Dec) and it was very busy as expected which is fine. The problem is when paying. There is only 1 pay station. I had to queue for over half an hour! Also it's not great having to stand in a long line with covid going around. I'm surprised that a car park with all of the automatic barriers and other modern facilities doesn't have more than one place to pay. This doesn't take away from the fact that Beacon Hill is one of the best beauty spots in Leicestershire.

Very popular and beautiful park for all. It is an uphill walk to the Beacon, with the main paths accessible for buggies, prams and possible wheelchairs if you are strong enough to push it up the hill. It can get busy but has enough room to social distance. The bottom car park has a cafe, a play area and a labyrinth to lose the children in. It also has a card payment machine so you don't have to panic search your car for those spare pennies to pay for parking😁😁. And sometimes there is an icecream van 🤗🤗

Had a great afternoon here, there are loads of different walks, some are a bit flatter than others. The climb from the bottom car park can be steep at times, so if you are not so good on your feet, park in the top car park. The walk through the woods down from the top offers great views over Loughborough. Lots of wood carvings to spot along the way. Visit the woodmans cottage and wonder at his skill. Do not miss the labyrinth, it's a magical place for young and old. We will be back again soon.

Great place to visit for family outings, dog walking, running, cycling and walking routes. Views from the craggy tops are stunning on a clear day. Safe, wide routes and more natural paths through woodlands make for nice combination. The recently renovated Labyrinth boardwalk is great, safe and accessible through the old rhodendendrons. Great woodland sculptures through the Labyrinth and main trackways add to the experience
