I was placed here as temporary accommodation, there was blood on the pillow case, a fake eyelash on the wall, vomit stain on the carpet i sat there crying. Did not feel safe at all, had people trying to get into my room

What a dump! I suspect this is a combination of a halfway house and a knocking house judging by the dubious clientele, the seemingly abandoned cars, the smell of cannabis, the piles of litter in the car park (including used needles and drug paraphernalia) and the semi human woman's slurred shouting at night. The TV didn't work, the toilet flush was broken and the bathtub had filthy, strange blobs all over it; I didn't bother showering, I cleaned myself with wipes etc. There was a toilet brush located between the sink and bath, not what you want when brushing your teeth. The front of the hotel is ostensibly reasonable but as soon as you see around the sides and back, you feel unsettled. Certainly not a place a lady or vulnerable person should stay alone. Staff were okay to be fair.

Basic room, no bar or restaurant WiFi hit and miss. However a comfortable stay nonetheless.

I'm not sure if some people have been paid to leave reviews, but they must have stayed in a different hotel to me. The place is beyond run down. The whole place stinks of stale cigarette smoke, and this morning you can add weed to that list. Bathroom had mold all over the walls, extractor fan didn't work, shower options were take you skin off hot, or a luke warm dribble. At Β£125 for just a room and what seemed like some reasonable reviews, i was expecting a lot more, what I got was a disgusting, damp, smelly room, with paper thin walls, were you could hear the person in the next room just breathing! I actually feel like I've been ripped off.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed. The room was horrible, the bathroom was stinking. They didn't serve food. And the items they sold at the bar were expired. Totally, horrible experience

Got into my room. Opened the bathroom door, and checked out. Stank of smoke and the toilet hadn't even been flushed, never mind cleaned. Keep far, far away.

Cleanliness was awful- I couldn't even use the bathroom before the cleaners came the next morning. Cobwebs on the ceiling & shower gel and handwash not provided. Shower pressure was awful since the shower head was tiny!

I think people need to be a bit realistic you get what you pay for. I called in on the off chance that they had a room one night only as I had been let down by a larger chain. The reception was not maned but a call got someone down to deal with me, he was very polite and quickly booked me in, yes the hotel is run down but it’s a old Victorian building so comes with all the inherited problems of an old property, a bit damp smelling, run down and plaster bulging all problems that in a building this old and as large as it is are difficult to get on top off without a huge pot of cash to deal with it. My room was large and clean the bed was clean with some strange stains on the lamp shade and was let down by the bathroom this was showing signs of of years of use the Tv was small but I was only there to sleep. Which I did very well there was very little noise from other residents. So overall I got what I needed a clean bed to sleep in, in a clean but aging room is it a modern city centre hotel No but at the price it’s what you get

Absolutely atrocious!! The room is dusty . Duvet covers do not get changed . Bar staff sell expired snacks . bed cover was old, with a large frayed hole. The bathroom was dirty, mildew fungi covered all the silicone covered gaps. The matress was old rickety and made 'bong' sounds sitting on the edge of the bed. Please stay away, avoid this very bad 'hotel', it is a disgusting smelly old dump. The housekeeper didn't clean room, and when I questioned at the front desk, I got a call from the manager saying she wanted me to check out in the morning when I had planned to stay a week. It was [gross], due to housekeeping not cleaning the wooden floors, bathroom and never making the bed.

Very rundown and falling apart, old musty smell as you enter. Used, dirty towels in the bathroom and used cups by the kettle. One of the pillows was dirty. We were not sure if the room had even been cleaned so we decided to leave straight away. We didn't want to stay the night. No apology from reception staff. Would not recommend.

Hotel is terribly run down and smells stale and musty throughout. The rooms are inadequate and not particularly clean. There is a nice little bar area but that's as much as you can say. Apparently they are in the process of refurbishment so it may be nicer once completed, however the room I had was supposed to have already been done , yet some garish pink wallpaper on one wall was as much as had changed 🀦. It's one saving grace were the staff who were helpful, polite and chatty. Well done staff, you alone are what my two stars are for! πŸ‘

An absolute nightmare! A friend of mine is currently staying there. Our first impression was a dusty room, a carpet not hoovered and a dirty cup to drink tea from. I'm now wondering if the bedclothes were recently washed? Also loud music from another resident until 3am with no one to contact during the night. I know it's only a cheap hotel but many improvements are desperately needed!

If there was a minus option, then it would receive -5. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Room was atrocious. Stank of stale cigarettes, even has a flat roof outside of window which was littered in cigarette ends. Everything I took with me went straight in the wash when I got home! Bed was clean, but that’s about it. Broken lamp on top of the wardrobe, which had a broken door. If I’d have had my toddler with me, it’s likely if he touched the door it would have fallen in on him. Very disappointed and would like management to get back to me.

This hotel really needs updating. Its dark dreary and dated. My room was very small and not very clean. The cup by the kettle was dirty the shower head kept slipping and couldnt be fixed. The lamp didnt work either. There was black mould in the shower where the silicone was. My bed had hairs and fluff in it so I slept on top of the duvet. If its hot you need the windows open and the hotel is located on a busy road so it gets noisy. On a plus point there is ample parking and the hotel is easy to find. Im sure The Regency could be turned into a high quality venue but it needs a lot of investment and a focus on customer satisfaction. I wouldnt stay here again.
