Usually really like holiday inns but this one really lets the chain down. The only good things were the lift and free parking( but you must sign in for the latter) . Reception was average except when I asked for extra pillows( not normally an issue) he said we are pretty full so unlikely. If I find 1 I will bring it along. I got the impression he wasn't bothered and wasn't even going to check. The shower was dreadful. Disabled access but grout was mouldy and curtain covered 1 side only so whole floor got wet. There was also a leak from the toilet? Cistern. As the floor was constantly wet. We had to use bath mat and hand towel so using toilet didn't give you wet feet. Breakfast was classic HI except no porridge. Would never use this one again . Right next to king power stadium thankfully it was not a match night

Cheaper version of city centre hotel but includes parking. Great for football less so for city centre. Room was nice - clean with good shower but no bath. Lighting set up was odd - couldn’t have reading light on unless main light was also on. Breakfast was very basic but adequate. Get your coffee at Jennos at the rugby ground - the one on offer is awful.

I stay at Holiday Inn's because of they are quite consistent in service, room condition and cleanliness when working away. Unfortunately this one did not live up to expectations. Service was lackluster, the corridors on my floor had threadbare carpets. The heating was not working in the room (-2% that night). When I asked about the heating I was told it was not working in any rooms and there should be a standalone heater in the room, there was not. This was sorted out quite quickly. Bar meal was a little on the small side, breakfast was quite good, however some long staying guests seemed to think no one else waw entitled to get any croissants. Every time the servers replenish them the long staying guest cleared the lot immediately and before anyone else could get near them. Not what I expect from an IHG hotel.

Friendly welcoming reception staff. Rooms are atypical of Holiday Inn Express, clean tidy and furnished tastefully. My only comment is there should be a mirror by the table. Beds are comfortable and there is plenty of parking. The hotel is ideally placed if you are a Leicester City fan. The town centre is a five minute taxi ride away.

I only stayed there one night, so it may have just been a bad coincidence, but I've never had a worse night's sleep. Banging, shouting and arguing in the corridors all night. Still going at 0500 when I gave up trying to sleep. I then decided to not bother with breakfast when another crowd was mouthing off in reception. I checked out and drove home. I couldn't wait to leave the place. I never want to see or hear of this hotel again. It was loud, poorly controlled and didn't feel remotely safe.

Starters, they messed up the room order, needed 2 single beds, not a double, said on my booking and reception was understanding but I was okay to accept it the way it was. Bathroom did not have a working fan so the room remained humid after a shower. AC supposedly wasn’t working in the room, but works in reception?🤔, had to use a fan to move the air around in room while I tried to sleep (more on that later) Sofa Bed leg was completely broken and missing, didn’t extend at all and failed to include a duvet & pillow.. had to wait till after midnight for the solution And after a short 4 hour sleep, I woke up completely congested/stuffed and found the room wasn’t cleaned/hoovered prior to arrival, the fan was just pumping dust everywhere. I had to pop a hayfever tablet to deal with it. Wifi simply did not work. This hotel should not advertise wifi or air conditioning if it doesn’t even work. There were no redeeming factors besides the lemon water next to reception. Would not stay here again.

Air con not working - seems it’s never worked reading the reviews. Rudely told I wouldn’t be able to get a refund and they basically won’t be doing anything about it. Don’t stay here unless it’s winter, even then I wouldn’t, or unless you’re into staying in a sauna and being offered a fan to push the hot air around… Update to the hotels response - it was booked through an agency so I had no control. And that’s outside of the problem, the air con hasn’t worked for over a year from the reviews, should have been fixed by now. You also definitely would not have mentioned that the inside temperature exceeds 30 degrees in some places as the reception area is lovely and cool unlike the rest of the hotel. There’s also nobody bothering to even monitor the heat or get some air flow in there, they just seem to put up signs and expect people to accept it. As mentioned, this isn’t a new problem and they seemingly have no intention to fix it. So my complaint remains and my suggestion to avoid also remains. Do not stay here. My room smelt dank, the shower smells like an old mop that hasn’t been cleaned, tiles are broken on the floor. I’m certain this won’t have been communicated. This is not a nice hotel and I’d be happy to see it closed and renovated into one that is pleasant to stay in, you guys seem to just play on the fact you’re by the stadium. It’s sad that IHG allow these kind of standards and to go on for such a long time. Do better, or quit doing nothing about it. I also struggle to believe the 3 star rating when having an internal phone system and room service are heavy stipulations to obtain such a rating. Seems very suspicious. I’d rate this 2 star at best.

We have stayed in quite a few Holiday Inns and Expresses but sadly was let down on this occasion as the room's air conditioning was not working. Having switched it on when we arrived and then went out, did not realise it was not cooling till got back. My daughter's room, however, was nice and cool. This meant neither my wife nor I slept much and opening the window just meant we then had noise from outside. Wanted to award more stars but a good night's sleep is the most important aspect of a hotel stay.

Location of the holiday inn express in a good place next to the king power stadium (Leicester City)ground. Room of reasonable size with decent size bed, shower and utilities like fan, shower gel, kettle etc. Breakfast included -eggs,beans,sausages,bacon. Croissants, cereal, juices. Some items for vegetarians but not a lot. Lifts available and reception service.Clean and tidy hotel,Recommended!!!

No idea what hotel expectations are in Leicester that got this a 4 star overall but it's brutal. The only good things about this place are the price and the service. Rooms are rough. We had bathroom flooding, water temp issues, interesting smells, useless air conditioning, no refrigerator, and a toilet you have to pump to flush? What a journey. If you're here for a football game across the sidewalk maybe the location is okay otherwise it's just outside of town but not close to anything in particular. The breakfast is reasonable and for 65 pound a night nice to have. Would not stay again.. just grab a BNB.

Everything was really good, Rooms and service was excellent. Only reason I would give a 4 star is that the breakfast is the same everyday. We stayed 3 nights Could have done scrambled eggs one day, Omlettes another and boiled eggs another day. Just a suggestion :)

I don't like giving poor reviews, normally I just don't review at all if I don't like a place. However, this hotel could easily up their game, particularly in the food department. Dinner is basically non-existent, they even recommend using take away in their DBB deal. I had to download an app to be able to eat-there is nowhere close to go to. Breakfast is almost adequate. Almost. The wifi is so intermittent that I was unable to do the work I needed to do. I always choose hotels who claim to have wifi, this hotel claims to, but doesn't deliver. All in all, I can't recommend this hotel. I would have graded them as "don't like" if it hadn't been for the very helpful front of house staff. I shan't be staying here in future.

Good location, car park was almost full when I arrived around 9pm, so I'd suggest arriving earlier if you can to guarantee a spot. I headed out the day after around midday and the car park was empty, returned later that night and there was 2 spaces. But good to see it's busy! The guy on reception was excellent, he even suggested where to order some food from as the hotel doesn't offer meals. But they do have a bar which I believe is open until midnight, and I think it sells snacks, I didn't check. Room was good, everything you'd expect for the price. It's nice and quiet as it's away from the centre and the road isn't busy so there was no traffic noise apart from the odd siren from police/ambulances. Would happily stay again.

We stayed here when we went to silverstone on coach, rooms were good but food was bismall I personally didn't like it. When we arrived, we had a hot buffet they ran out of bread rolls with soup, pasta was very vinegary, so I had food I had brought for silverstone. Reception Staff were friendly.

Thought I'd booked a double but got a twin. Was explained to me it was because I had booked a "Standard" room and that if I booked a proper hotel like the Holiday Inn (not Express) they have double double rooms but the express have double twins. Still have no idea how this translates, I selected a double room on the website, if it was only a twin available I wouldn't have booked. End result I got a twin room, £115, broken tiles on bathroom floor with no grout, wall light with no shade. And the air conditioning is not working, hasn't been for a while apparently, but you can have a fan to blow the warm air around the room you didn't want. And the free wifi is slow, buffers all the time. No use if your trying to work. Would I use again? Never. Would sooner travel further than stay here.

The hotel is looking very tired in public areas threadbare carpets, worn split chairs, varnish worn through on tables. The rooms are comfortable but the air conditioning is broken and things like the shower heads are old and need replacing. As previously said the hotel is tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment. Be aware also that at least one floor is given over to council emergency housing with families living there long term. I understand that people need to have homes but a hotel is not the right place for them. The positives are that the staff are really nice and the location great but sadly I won't be staying again until such a time as a full refurbishment is carried out

Air con wasn't working, it was stifling. I was unwell overnight it was so hot. They told me it wouldn't be fixed this year. Avoid if it's warm!! Apart from that it's ok. The carpet is tired and threadbare in place. It's very clean and tidy.

Overall for the price we paid for three days, excellent value. Pros and cons. Free parking, free WiFi, free breakfast. A decent size room, and fairly comfy bed. Also a settee in the room, but that was quite firm and unfortable. Lovely staff. Very friendly. Cons. I hated the pillow on the bed. Very hard and unfortable. The TV although a reasonable size for the room, 32" I would think, was old fashioned these days. My main complaint was that I could not get subtitles on it. Not an issue for most, but for me very important.

Located right next door to relegated Leicester city fc. Handy for the city centre , however a bit dear for what you get. Breakfast was ok, had better and worse. Good spot for business, apart from the stadium not much else in direct area. Handy hotel and I’ll be back next time I’m in Leicester.

Going in the car park is a little confusing I thought I was going in Leicester cities ground. Staff have more than one job like all hotels these days. But they were trying their best. My appointment was at Leicester royal infirmary the next day this hotel was the perfect location, breakfast was help yourself and eat as much as you want. Room was cleanish, staff was nice. Loose tile on bathroom floor with silver fish, TV had a line in the screen. Kettle didn't turn off on its own. Nothing major.

Our visit was part of a coach tour. Room was clean and tidy. The evening meal we were given as part of the tour was disappointing, cheap and flavourless. The breakfast was a little better, minus the scrambled eggs which were the worst I've had in a long time. Though probably great for match days, I didn't like the location. Directly opposite the King Power Stadium, it was in the middle of nowhere, it was a 12 minute walk to the nearest pub or a taxi journey.

Clean and comfortable rooms at good prices. Ideal for the sports fan. Breakfast included and free on site parking. On-site bar with reasonable prices. Adjacent to The King Power Stadium, not far from Leicester Tigers stadium on Welford road

Don't expect food here there is a menu but after a 200 mile journey we were told there had been an event? and nothing was left this was early afternoon, there were problems with coffee machine so no drinks breakfast quite unexciting no fried eggs just bacon scrambled eggs beans & sausages which I personally didn't like other items were available but the bread I think had been frozen and was cold and wet.Rooms were fine bed comfortable bathroom fine overall enjoyed stay even with problems

Reasonable price. Good location. Parking. Breakfast great. Eggs bacon sausages and beans for hot. Refill coffee tea and juices. Bread cereal fruit yoghurt and pastries. Rooms comfortable. Only annoyance was air con/heating turning on in the night.

Great location next to football stadium. Rooms clean, quite small but enough for one night and mattresses comfy. Breakfast service was okay but only on till 9m30am in the week and they start clearing up quickly.

The hotel looked pleasant, clean and had complimentary tea and coffee in the room. The hotel also provide complimentary BED BUGS!!!!! Woke up to several bites on my ankle, arms and various parts of my body. Great look and an added accessory when turning up to the family wedding, I came to Leicester specially for!!!! After booking my first hotel in the UK I will be thinking twice about booking with this group! This is the 2nd review about this incident and not one phone call from management to acknowledge and discuss the matter. Do they really care about your experience?
