Awful room + Awful staff = Horrible Stay. I am Hilton Diamond member, so if it was this bad for me, I can only assume it be worse for other guests. We booked 2 rooms. So here is the feedback. Room 274) A) We check in there's human hair in the bathroom tub and the toilet. Upon complaining someone cleaned the bathroom hair but didn't bother cleaning the ones on the toilet. B) We had to complain again and someone got to the room and cleaned it. It feels awful to stay in a room that has human hair. I mean even cheaper hotels don't have this kind of problem. C) The carpet was very dirty and had loose screw on it. Which could have hurt anyone of is bad and injured us. D) After coming from dinner, we found that the heater in the room is not working. When we asked for extra blankets and complained, we were told that 'housekeeping has left for today". I only got a blanket at 11:30pm in the night and then too the room was very cold. E) the staff responses were rude everytime we interacted or complained. I paid over £135 for this room and such poor service, attitude and quality. F) I am now out of pocket for over £135 and haven't had any sleep and my wife and I are cold while I am typing this. Room 275) A) For this room my cousins checked in a little late. Upon check-in I asked if they can get a room near mine. I was told a flat "NO" in a rude way. Then she added "The hotel is full". B) then the lady gives keys to room 275, so I said oh but this is opposite ours as our first room is 274. Literally the lady at reception replied "I am no psychic".

'Let's experience an overnight stay in the Hilton' my finace said..... Oh wow, you mean that posh hotel?..... Reception is stunning. The room however..... Shocking, carpets dirty and badly stained, the pat test on the kettle was out of date. There was dust all over the glass table and long brown hairs in the bathroom. Outside our door was a disgusting dirty towel left by the cleaners. I was so glad to get home to have a clean shower. Very disappointed with the so called Hilton hotel in Leicester.

Not worth the money. Checked in (17:00) was quick but our reserved room (Double with Sofa) was "not available". Given a key for room 282 which is a very long walk away form reception. Got to room 282 to find it dirty, bed not made, stuff in room, towels on bathroom floor and bathroom dirty. Long walk back to reception to request another room, "not available". We can have housekeeping "quickly make up your room". Declined this offer and asked that it be properly made up. Would have been nice if the apologised and perhaps offered us a free drink in the bar while we waited on the room getting ready. Had driven 330 miles over 6 1/2 hours so was sort of ready for the room. Went out for dinner to the city instead and returned at 11pm with the room now ready but no sofa bad. Was given a sheet and a quilt though! Many of the seats in the bar area are quite simple filthy. Not the service any guest should receive let alone a HHonors Diamond member. Will not be back for sure.

Overall had a pleasant stay as we used the swimming pool, but it was ruined at the end by the parking issue where we were ripped off by £24. There is a machine in reception which asks you to put in your car registration number and to pay for parking, which we did at the end of the stay. It charged £24 which my partner paid, as he didn't realise that hotel guests are only meant to pay £6 per day. I went to ask at reception and the two girls said the machine is not part of the hotel, it's for another company. However I said it clearly says Hilton Hotel along the top of the machine and also on the receipt it produced it says Hilton Leicester. The girls could not tell me which company this machine belongs to or why it was misleading guests to use it and pay, when they didn't need to. The girl had no response for this, but then said they just deduct £6 off the final hotel bill for parking, which they did, so in total we have paid £30 just to park the car. We asked to speak with a manager but was told no one was available. *** Update: I emailed the manager after receiving the below response, however got absolutely NO reply. They clearly are not interested in helping their customers, despite pretending on here that they do ***

I think some of the reviews on here are a bit unfair - perhaps people are expecting a luxury 5 star hotel based on the Hilton brand of old, but realistically this is a 4 star out of town hotel that seemed to be mainly used by businesses for conferences/meetings, and a few families as it was the school holidays. At approx £130 a night for a family of 4, including breakfast, I'm not sure what people expect. It was exactly what we expected, however - not luxurious but good as a base. The room (particularly the bathroom) was in need of refurbishment but the bedroom was large, clean and with comfortable beds. We ate at the restaurant one night, the food was decent enough, and good value for kids at £5 for a meal. A good range of foods at breakfast too. Our kids also enjoyed the pool, which was the main reason we booked this hotel (though you need to book a pool slot in advance as it's also a health club with local members). All the hotel staff we encountered were extremely helpful and polite - even opening the restaurant a little bit early as our kids were so hungry! - and the manager also responded very quickly to an email request that we sent a few days before arrival, even though he was on leave at that time. My only criticism would be that on the full day we were there (in between the two nights we were staying), we went out from about 9.30am-2.30pm and our room hadn't been cleaned in that time, which seemed strange - hence why I've only given 4 stars for service, otherwise it would be 5. This was quickly resolved though.

Second time using the Hilton brand (last one in Melbourne which was faultless) and, this, Leicester hotel, which is one of the worst I've stayed at. Paying quite a bit for parking on land that is allegedly nothing to do with them, along with grubby rooms and bathroom (for a Hilton). Our family was happy to see it in the rear view mirror. We stayed for a stopover from a day at the Space Centre to head back towards London. Only positive was how close it was to the Fosse Park precinct which we spent more time at that the hotel.

A catalogue of issues, quite how this place is rated 3.9 stars is a mystery in itself. Hotel is dated, dirty and frankly not worth staying even if it was free. Only positive is the reception staff. Quite how they’ve managed to keep the Hilton brand is shambolic. Avoid at all costs, sleep in your car instead and you’ll feel safer too.

Very poor requested father free room had father pillows this has happend most times I gave been hear they have managed to get it sorted on Monday they brought me 2 scatter cushions in a pillow case and a single duvet with no cover and thought it was acceptable I drove home. I asked for email to myself and work who are paying for me and from 20 to 50 of my colleagues to stay hear for 12 months duty mangers email was that bad my company has taken it further definitely not a 4 star hotel if not for gym and swimming pool would be 2 stars at best I hope we get moved out soon

I was here on business and opted to stay over. Its a good location off the M1 Leicester. Reception is good, staff friendly. Unfortunately was a busy day with families and lots of youngsters. My floor was noisy and had a number of late night disturbances. Hotel rooms are okay, spacious and generally well equipped. Would stay again but definitely not during school half term!

Where do I start. Check in good. Staff nice. That’s the end of a good story. Issues as follows All seats in the reception dirty and stained Most seats in bar stained On route to the room the lifts are dirty most of the corridors had stained carpets Marks and bad paint on walls in corridors The room (299) Room was grubby, did not feel clean at all!! Carpet covered in stains and marks Shower curtain, tatty and grey with marks all over it Tea and coffee tray was covered in bits of bread crumbs One clean glass and one dirty Marks on 2/3 towels, plus a hole in one Worst of all was the large chair next to the TV. Had a clear crusty stain right in the middle of the seat, I will leave it up to you to decide how you think that was left their by another guest! If I had not got back to the room late I would of gone to another hotel. I slept in my clothes on top of the bed, and gave the dirty shower a miss, until I got home. I did grab breakfast as I had a long drive and had paid in advance, to be fair that was good and all the staff, great and the area very clean. This was a waste of £122. You really need to clean better, a tired room is ok for a one night stay, but only if clean!!!! No excuse for a brand that I believe always stood for quality.

The most underwhelming experience in a hotel ever. Decor outdated which makes it all look dirty. Old towels, rusty fittings. Most of the lights in the room do not work and the light fittings are already scarce. No answer on the photo from reception and room service staff. Even when called from mobile phone on outside line. So no food available after a long journey. Advising future potential guests to avoid Hilton and best spend their money on another hotel in town. In cannot get worse than this and you would save some cash!

The bedrooms are standard and could do with a refurb, however, the breakfast more than makes up for this, it's absolutely superb, plenty of variety and kids have a wide choice too. Coffee is great and the misses enjoyed the tea. I would certainly stay again.

Very friendly and helpful reception at arrival and checkout; very spacious room and clean. Super delicious meal. Restaurant staff are very friendly and helpful too. The piano in the lounge may need to be unlocked 🥱 Quiet location, serene. A good place to relax the mind and interact with nature. Great value for money.

The hotel is very spacious and all staff we dealt with were polite and pleasant to deal with. The breakfast selection was fantastic with allot of choice when typically compared with other hotels. The room we stayed in was a bit tired and needs an update. The room had no AC and the weather was very muggy (29 degrees) so it was hard to get comfortable, we had a small fan only and the windows only opened about 10cm which was not enough to let in any air.

Highly recommend the Hilton Leicester. Myself and my son stayed for his 10th birthday and also visited the national space centre which was only about a 15 minutes drive away. The swimming pool was brilliant and a huge hit with my son. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a huge selection. We ordered room service for our evening meal which was lovely. Our room was very spacious and clean and comfortable. All staff were friendly.

Been to this hotel many times but the last time I went I had the worst experience ever. I tried to use the fan in the hotel room and when i turned it on it was full of dust and the dust ended up all over me, my hair, my clothes and all over the bed. I had to clean myself up and all my clothes and spend time moving all my luggage to another room and all the staff offered was free parking. I’m a loyal member to this hotel and was planning to come many times but that will never be happening again. The service I received from the man at the reception desk was the worst and was extremely rude when I was explain the situation to him. DON’T COME TO THIS HOTEL AT ALL THEY DON’T CLEAN THEIR ROOMS PROPERLY AND THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU!

It is situated in a very convenient location connecting with M1 (junction21) and M69 motorways. It is very quiet than I thought. The car park has plenty of spaces. I received a very good service from the reception team to the housekeeping team. The staff are always ready to help with good hearts and smiles. The (electronic card) key for the door was very often failed me. But always updated with friendly chat. My wife and children enjoyed the meals and gym. I can recommend this great hotel in Leicester for any who visit the city of Leicester. We would like to visit again.

Stayed here twice now. First time I had a hole in my sheet, was not expecting that and the Carpet had all stains on but nothing that a good carpet cleaner wouldn’t get out. Walls in corridor need a new lot of paint place is really dated . But convenient for the place we needed to go. Second time I stayed even worse the room smelt awful a musky smell, bathroom smelt of wee. But I just needed to sleep did the job I suppose. Girl on reception had a bit of a attitude, we had a long journey so this was off putting this was friday night, however this morning she was very nice. Breakfast was ok. But they do have a nice selection . Tv in my room would only load in a few channels I know this is unusual as the other room loaded in lots of channels. This hotel could really improve its so old fashioned in the rooms.

Awful hotel. Avoid. Rooms are not soundproofed. Terrible noise from corridors and other rooms. If you like to be woken up at 6am with the most horrendous noise from the gym(?) And if you like rooms that smell of damp, lights in the room that don't work, then this is the place for you. Showers don't drain and everything is tired and dirty. Appalling place. Very disappointed

Decent hotel but more Holiday Inn like rather than the larger Hilton hotels I've been to. However I cannot fault the friendly and helpful staff who work there. They really were up to standard for a good quality hotel.

A great hotel. We booked a family room for a wedding. The room was large, clean, comfortable and spacious. However the lighting was very poor. The bedside lamps didn’t work and there were only a couple of dim lights in the room. Trying to apply makeup was impossible as there were no lights above or near the mirror. Breakfast was ample and well thought of , with open buffet. Check out was easy and staff on reception helpful and friendly .

Staff were too in hurry to explain things to you. I was debited £6 for parking while I didn't even come with a car and it is taking time for refund to go back to my account. Had I not checked my account statement I would not have known, and only God knows how many customers were wrongfully debited per day.

Its a shame, the staff are nice, location is good and property has potential but this is where it ends. The rooms are ( hate to use the word) are NASTY! Does not appear to have been updated since the 70s. Staining on carpets, walls filthy, shower rooms dated and dirty....list goes on! I cannot believe this is a Hilton brand. If there was a zero star option, I would have used that. On a positive note, the health club is nice and the pool and changing rooms are clean, although dated.

Went to a presentation, not there for long so can't comment on most the services. This used to be a top end hotel when it first opened a lot of years ago but this was my first visit in about 25 years, still looks good on the entrance, hopefully everything else has been kept fresh too.

What a circus! Rude staff, dated and dirty rooms, hard dry food. Our friends were getting married here and it was ridiculous service. The one bar open had a que of people with only one bar member who took 10minutes to do one order. DONT NOT GET MARRIED HERE OR EVEN USE IT AS A NORMAL HOTEL!!!

  • 2/5 joan d. 7 months ago on Google
i cant believe that i ordered for food, room service and the waiter came with it open. walked through the VERY long corridors all the way to my room with open food. when i asked him he said because the bowl was small there was no small lid for such bowls. Then i asked him you could atleast cover it with film paper and he said there was none. i checked the food it was ice cold. i called the kitchen and the staff that picked up the phone was very impatient, very angry and said all i should have simply done was to return the food back to the kitchen because this is dinner time and they are very busy. instead of calling and showing my displeasure.

Most definitely does not meet with my expectations of the (once notorious for exceptional quality and service) Hilton Hotels. I worked in Hilton hotels as a youngster (around 20 years ago) and was very proud of the brand, the quality environment and the kudos that came with all things Hilton. Check in was easy and staff pleasant but that’s the only pleasant thing I can say about this hotel. Communal areas are below average for what you’d expect of a Hilton hotel. Dirty and stained seating, brown net curtains across the windows. Corridors and stairs to rooms were filthy including stains on carpets. General maintenance of these areas leaves a lot to be desired. Surely it’s wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg to apply some paint, re seal tired areas and rug doctor the carpets. Staff at the bar made ordering a coffee much harder than it needed to be, he had to keep going to ask if another member of staff if they could facilitate one drink or another, despite the fact they were offered on the menus. Room was tired and in need of a major deep clean. Carpets are filthy, furniture is filthy. Inadequate pillows for a family of four and no answer from housekeeping or guest services. Drawers dirty. Bathroom needed a deep clean. Very noisy until very late at night which was painful with young children. Could even hear someone peeing in the bathroom in the next room along, whilst in out bedroom. Yuk !! Cut out trip short by 1 night. Wouldn’t dream of staying here again. We were so disappointed that our mini break fell far below our expectation. Even an average stay would’ve been ok but this was horrible.

It's relatively convenient for my work, but j won't stay there again unless I have no other choice or they do a refurbishment. The rooms are dirty. The carpets are stained and the decor is very dated. The room service food isn't very good and it's not somewhere I enjoy staying.

Stayed here once before on business, and it was fleeting and very good. On the second visit, my room card did not work upon check-in. This was not a problem as my colleague was across the corridor, so I put my bags in their room whilst I went back to reception to have my key recut. The room was a great layout, especially for me on business, great desk layout, and really geared up for the corporate. However, the bath plug got stuck when i had a bath, and it would not drain. I reported to reception, and they sent someone up to look at. Then you start looking....it wasn't that clean upon closer inspection. Around the tiles, shower fixings and under the toilet roll holder -see images, scuffs, and marks across the walls and fat deposits ( pink around tiles, silicone and fixings) For a Hilton, the restaurant menu looked really disappointing. However, the food was fantastic, tasty, and spicy 😋 the service was amazing, and we were really surprised as both filling and fantastic, and the service was amazing For us, a great location, all issues sorted and amazing. Could just do with modernising, tbh in the room's.

Absolutely shocking hotel. We booked a luxury stay with upgraded rooms for three directors for two nights as we wanted somewhere to get away to plan our business for the year ahead. We had to leave after the first night it was that bad. The rooms were very basic, not very clean and overall the whole building is desperately run down. The staff were not rude but neither were they happy in their job, the place had a depressing vibe. We booked three double rooms with luxury upgrade which we did not get, we were told the following day when checking out early that the upgrade is subject to availability but we had to pay nonetheless. This was not explained when we booked via their own booking system We were also told that we could book treatments at the spa directly with the hotel. There are no spa treatments. The beds were horrid. The dinner menu was a Christmas special, much less availability than the main menu, this was not divulged when booking. The wine glasses at dinner had lipstick all over them, yuck. First time I've ever been asked if I wanted ice in my draft larger at a bar which was odd. I'll leave some photos of the conditions of our rooms and the hotel. Would have been OK paying £90 a night or less but for a luxury 4 star Hilton hotel this place is a joke really. Didn't stay another night, checked out early, was given a refund for the second night but not the false upgrade which I wasn't happy about. That would have saved this review, but no, I was forced to pay for that non upgrade.

Although this place is very close to the motorway you have to approach it from the right direction or else you get caught in a long diversion to try again! Once there, the car park is large and we had a pleasant check in. Our room was a good size and actually had a proper desk with plenty of workspace and designed so the screen is facing away from the bed - this is ideal for us as I get up early and can get on with work whilst my wife sleeps! We had dinner in the restaurant and it was decent food with efficient and pleasant service, as was breakfast. The hotel could do with a refresh but our rooms were clean, everything worked and service was good.

Our stay didn't start great was kept awake with noisy children running around the corridors and slamming doors till 1am! When we spoke to reception they upgraded us for the last night and gave completely breakfast. The staff were brilliant, the lesuire facilities were also very good, the rooms however are looking dated and tired and need a thorough clean!

Staff were friendly and helpful. Very limited bar for people who don't drink alcohol, lemonade served out of a bottle, expected more from Hilton. Evening meals and breakfast were good. Bathroom was extremely dated however room was fine. Leasure facilities were very good. Parking was really expensive, we parked there from around 5pm Sunday until around 10am the next morning and it cost over £25.

It wasn't as good as in previous years - food nice but wasn't very hot and milk in bedrooms for tea/coffee was off! We had booked a twin bed room and was placed in a double bed room so had to wait for a room to be ready - this was the same for a few of us that were attending meetings there - definitely improvement needed as I know they can do loads better!

We stayed overnight for a conference so was able to enjoy the leisure facilities , the sauna is currently unavailable but the steam room, pool, jacuzzi and gymnasium were all in service and all immaculately clean. Our room was a bit odd in that the wardrobe is by the bathroom sink rather than being actually in the bedroom. The food including cooked breakfast, dinner and evening meals were all buffet service and were all first class. We left as full as an egg as the expression goes. If you have time there is a small nature reserve to stroll around by the entrance gate and there is a large retail park nearby.

Booked the Hilton via the Stay play explore package and all I can say is how pleased I am after reading some of the terrible reviews. Check in was quick with 3 receptionist available and all very friendly and helpful. Family rooms consists of two queen beds and sofa bed, plenty of space for my family. Nice touch with tea and coffee with a small kettle and a fridge available in room. Swimming pool and changing rooms are nice and clean, towels provided at the leisure desk- would advise to book a session as it gets busy. Breakfast is amazing, branded cereals and alpro soya milk available. Good selection of fruits and pastries, hot breakfast being refilled constantly. Chef cooking fried egg on the go. Fresh juices and yogurts to. The only let down is cost of chicken wings from room service, £14 for 12 small pieces of chicken wings! But a good size pizza for the same cost. I will recommend this hotel and will visit again in the future.

Desperately needs a refurb, which I understand is coming next year. The rooms are well below brand standard, especially the bathrooms. However, the breakfast is good quality and compares well to the otherwise much better Marriott across the road. Maximum you should pay here is £85 a night.

Dated. Bathroom dated with nasty plastic taps and mixer for shower. Clean room but dated. Added parking charge - rip off. Added service charge on food ordered, without asked, plus took along to serve the food, and got the order for desert wrong. Mainly went to increase my Hilton points. Not on par with most other Hiltons. Breakfast was good. Placed in the end of the corridor which was nearest the bar so a bit loud.

Just there for one night but could not fault my stay, check in efficient, room was large, well aired with natural light. Had a bath and a shower, with loads of hot water even in the afternoon. Breakfast comprenensive. Check out friendly. All staff in hotel polite, all with smiles for the guests. Only downside is room was a bit noisy as it is by a major road, did nor bother me as I was out all night but if you want quiet you may need to ask for room not so near to the road. Well done Hilton Leicester.

Hotel room was spacious and had all the necessary facilities available such as in room iron and full-size ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities, TV, WiFi in room and public areas. Food was of a very good standard with the included breakfast as I had dinner elsewhere. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only issue is the location is a long way from the city centre meaning taxi service is expensive to use and buses are at least 15 min walk which with luggage could be an issue.

Stayed in a few Hilton's, the service is always good. They sent up extra blanket & pillows, and were very accomadatung. The breakfast was wonderful. Took my 3 young kids and I've never seen them eat so much before. They lost a star because the bathroom was very back dated, and didn't work very well. For the price I wasn't impressed with the shower at all. Overall great stay! Lovely service

The service and all the staff were amazing! And Andie at the front desk was so helpful. She helped my family of 7 obtain a taxi for a long drive at the least minute. She even stayed past her regular hours to help us. Also, Sandeep at the restaurant was so sweet to our large family and all our demands. The rooms need to be modernized, however.

Great value for money, greeted by the lovely Ashley at reception on check in, she was kind and helpful, if you have kids, you have to book swimming beforehand. The gym and pool are adequate. Swapan was very attentive at breakfast and great communication about what’s on offer. The breakfast was fresh and the pastries and sausages were of good quality. My family enjoyed their stay here. The staff at the leisure club were friendly, the hot tub was hot and the pool wasn’t too busy. There are lockers if you need them. Parking was £6 a night.

The Hilton brand keeps on deteriorating at an alarming rate. This hotel was no better. Rooms were awfully dated, bathrooms shabby and the shower barely trickled out. I felt as though I was in an outdated side of the road motel. Staff were helpful, can't complain there, but simply put, the Premier Inn is now a better solution to an overnight stay than the Hilton. They have simply decided to let their hotels run themselves into the ground, a very strange business decision.

I use the living well spa at the Hilton as a member,it has great staff good gym facilities and I love the pool sauna jacuzzi and steam room. I have used the rooms and found them spacious with the facilities you would expect at a well known hotel not stayed as a guest so cannot comment on sleep food etc.

we thought we booked into a Hilton, how wrong was I ! no doubt the worst hotel we have stayed in. Plus point was the check in staff were friendly, but after that it was disappointment after disappointment. the rooms were probably never cleaned, very outdated, uncomfortable creaky beds, stains on the floor....the list goes on. the restaurant food was inedible that evening which we sent back, thankfully but the worst part we encountered the following morning was the smoke detector in our room had a plastic bag covering it, serious health and safety issue. My only assumption for that can be previous visitors may have wanted to smoke in the room hence cover the smoke detectors. wonder if the rooms are ever checked for such breach !! never coming back disappointment to the Hilton name
