I have worked here as an external contractor before and always thought of the place as looking really good. Attended a friend's wedding here in April 2022 and it was super super impressive. Didn't stay here for a night so can't comment on rooms or anything to do with the stay. However, the decor in the venue where the wedding was was lovely, the location was nice, the surrounding areas were really pleasant, there is ample parking on site and the day went really well overall. They had a good sized area both indoors and outdoors that catered for all the guests. The food that had been catered was really tasty. The staff that ran the day were really efficient and it went as well as it did because of there determination to make sure it did!

Winstanley house is a very nice place and the staff are very attentive, however, we went for afternoon tea and 4 finger sandwiches (2 rounds of bread) per person felt a little mean for £25 (per person). We had to ask for our tea and were not offered a refill though we also ordered 2 bottles of champagne (£78 a bottle), so asking if we wanted a few more sandwiches would not have eaten into their profits. Wont be doing afternoon tea here again.

We have been trying to get our money back since last year, for a wedding that couldn’t go ahead due to Covid restrictions. Winstanley House are just money grabbers. After speaking to a number of couples we have found out they are in the same situation as us. Just think how much money they taken from people and not actually provided a service that they had paid for. They are still refusing to give our money back! I would not recommend this venue for any event.

What a lovely place to visit. Travelled from Lincolnshire to stay due to a best friend getting married there this weekend. The food was amazing and the service by the staff was absolutely faultless. I'm struggling to have anything to pick fault with. The rooms were clean and fresh, the beds are super comfy, nice low ride style with super thick mattress. Bathroom was the size of the room again and very clean (seen some bad ones). Ambience and atmosphere was electric. Bar staff to house staff absolutely on point. Would I stay there again? Hell yes. Would i recommend? Hell yes. Can't see how you could be disappointed with it in anyway.

Fantastic Christmas 🎄 party at Winstanley house with my wife’s company. Reception and welcome drinks in our own room, then through to the main dining and dance area. Great welcome with the entertainment team and staff, checked in to our room quickly and then back down photos and a glass of Prosecco and time to 🎉 party. We stayed in room 101, it’s a beautiful room with a large bathroom, open vaulted ceiling and widows to the front aspect of the hotel. Bed was comfortable, very quiet and comfortable and the room benefits from tea & coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and tasty ingredients. If you’re visiting Leicester then Winstanley house is worth considering as an option to stay vs the regular hotels.

Earlier this year, I shot an Indian wedding at Winstanley House. This place has some great indoor and outdoor space for large weddings. Fantastic to create some great memories for the couple and their families. The event management was really efficient. Well laid out areas for outdoor couples portraits as well The external caterers were excellent. I would rcomment this venue to couples looking to hire this venue for their wedding No comments on hotel rooms as I did not stay overnight

Went to a well organised wedding with evening reception. Food was good, and sitting on the lawn on a sunny afternoon with drinks and canapés really made the day.

Lovely hotel, I used to play around here 50 years ago when I was a kid, it was certainly very different back then. It has been renovated to a high standard. Nice, friendly and polite staff too.

Winstanley House is a awesome place!!! I had my wedding Reception there and it couldn’t have gone any better especially with my lovely coordinator Isobel who went over and beyond to make the day so beautiful as well as herself. She is honestly amazing at what she does and if you ever are going to do your wedding there definitely ask for her. Thank you so much winstanley for making my night stay so nice aswell, the room was stunning. Everything couldn’t have gone any better ❤️

Sunday lunch. Had the pot for 3 which was good. 3 meats (chicken, beef, pork) and lots of veg all in 1 big plate. Then pick the bits you want.food cooked well. Service ok but prob not attentive enough for the venue which is more up market. Venue itself interesting

Stayed two nights in their only single (quirky) room. Very comfortable and very clean and, for once, not located in the attic!!

Stayed here Friday night for the umpteenth time. Love the place. Lady at reception was warm and welcoming happy to chat and be as accommodating as possible. Nicco the manager was also on reception and recognised us straight away. Again very welcoming and genuine. Booked in for dinner at 6:30, as per the food was FABULOUS and we couldn't fault it. It is a small menu but everything is done very well. Cocktails were strong and tasty! We immediately booked back for another stay in January in the Winstanley Suite. Very excited to be heading back so soon! If not sure whether to book or not, do it. It had lovely grounds, close to city centre and M1. We also had lunch at the Red Cow about ten mins away if you're looking for something out of the hotel. Food was lovely there too, pub grub style but hearty and value for money.

We have just come back form a Santa meet and greet. We booked vegetarian food and they brought out Ham sandwiches. (They did the same thing to us a few months ago) Then they finally came back with Jam sandwiches when we asked for a replacement. When we asked for additional cheese sandwiches (so we could have something savory), which we said we would pay for, the kitchen said no. We had left over cakes and when we asked for something to take them home with they said they had no containers and no paper tissues so we had to take them out with our hands. For the price and venue we expected better than this. We won't come again. Santa was great though.

Attended a Christmas party there... staff were not paying attention and the food was awful!! The soup tastes of tepid water, seasoned with pepper, the meat was bone dry and the stuffing was powdery! The sticky toffee pudding was burned and the custard had formed a thick skin! Not at all pleasant and the service offered for £45 was not worth it!!!

Date night with the wife. Booked table in the restaurant. Had a drink in the bar. Restaurant not very busy, lacked any atmosphere. Table's set out in such a way that if your a couple, one of you faced the wall. Bit of an unpleasant odour where we were sitting, smelt like strong cleaning products. Service was a little laboured, but pleasant enough. Menu as expected from this upper end restaurant. We had 2 drinks each and 2 course's, and the bill came to just shy of £100. skipped dessert, the experience was underwhelming if I'm honest. And we both left a little deflated. Sorry but I think there's better value for money tobe had in the city.

Beautiful venue, we attended a wedding a few days ago and staff where lovely and approachable. Only thing I'd recommend is getting rid of the gravel outside and putting a smooth road for carpark, The stones dent very easily and the dust the cars where covered in was very noticeable.

Stunning hotel and wedding venue. My wife and I have stayed many times at Winstanley House, both for a night away together and more recently a friends wedding. The wedding venue is fantastic, the food and service was excellent. We really enjoyed our day here, the grounds are great to spread out after the ceremony. Food for the day was immaculate, including the evening menu - little tapas style bowls which worked brilliantly. Our rooms have always been big and comfortable, with check in and out being simple and convenient for us. An evening on the terrace is always a pleasure for a little R&R when we have a night free.

Absolutely amazing food as well as the service. Loved everything I ordered and truly enjoyed being there. Yet, something wasn't right as I am now up all night with food poison from the food there. Saying that, if you are the lucky one with a strong stomach then I fully recommend this place. One of the best places with food in the area

We can't thank Georgia and the team at Winstanley enough for executing our dream wedding day. The planning, communication and delivery was exceptional. Georgia was able to provide valuable advice and guidance through the entire process. The venue was beautiful and provided for everything we needed. Thank you Winstanley House!

Enjoyed our stay here. Room itself was the best part. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Service could have been more welcoming, security chatting on Facetime when we were checking in. The drive to hotel itself was poorly lit at night.

Came for a wedding, a little disappointed in our room and facilities in the room (very basic room 105) bar staff a little inexperienced, wedding breakfast main course and dessert were best, but serving staff yet again inexperienced. Breakfast the next morning was cold, and tea and coffee need to be brought to the table in my opinion. The main thing is that the bride and the groom had a great time.

Lovely old house which has been made into a swish hotel. We went for afternoon tea which was delicious with friendly and efficient service. Hotel is in the middle of a park so there isn't a lot around it. But you can go for a nice walk.

When you enter the grounds of Winstanley House, it feels like your out in a countryside setting. Black Iron Restaurant is a lovely setting for dinner, the outdoor space is also lovely for dinning in the summer sunshine with live jazz, not sure how often the jazz takes place. I would definitely recommend Winstanley House.

My wife and I booked the bottomless Mimosa breakfast today. The ad said a bottomless Mimosa brunch for 1 hour for £20 per person. My experience of bottomless deals INCLUDES the food as that to me is brunch. We had a full English, an Eggs Royal - which were lovely, a bottle of still water and a Bloody Mary. Our server Tosin was great - so we were expecting a bill for around £52. The actual bill was £72 and when we queried this, we were told that the bottomless Mimosa brunch does not include the food. Why did they not advertise it as a bottomless Mimosa experience for 1 hour, and if you want food, it will be EXTRA. It’s not the money, it’s the ambiguity of the advertised deal! We have spent many a happy hour/2 hours with bottomless deals all over the country and this is the first time we have ever been asked to pay for the food separately. Whilst we were there, they are advertising Dinner, Bed and Breakfast for £150 fee room per couple. We were keen to take this offer up but will now think twice because of the potential hidden costs. We will not be using this venue again.

Nice warm welcome, disappointing stay. Dusty room, cupboard seemed liked it was last wiped a month ago with the amount of dust accumulated on it’s base. Large amount of flaking paint on the corner near the toilet. Placing hands along wooden surfaces returned hands with dust on them. Wall appeared to have a crack where plasterboards meet. Very dusty A/C unit, although what is described as A/C is not as it’s simply what can be described as a wall mounted fan heater, has no cooling function just a fan. Was woken up on day 1 by what sounded like someone stomping their feet on the ground and the noise from the restaurant. Requested room with lift access and bathtub this was not provided although the hotel appeared to be filled below capacity. Day 2 woken up at 8 am by the noise I could hear from the restaurant directly below my room. Finally located in the centre of a large council estate type area in the middle of a large park, with what appeared to be reasonably secure overnight.

A good stay in a well presented grounds. The building has many traditional features which really help to set the mood. The staff here are very friendly and will go out of their way to help you and maintain standards within the hotel. I was a little bit disappointed that the disabled parking area wasn’t used for disabled people and anyone could park there, this sort of thing really needs to be enforced. During my stay I noticed an issue with my mattress, it would appear that one side / part of the mattress would compress resulting in a inability to lay flat, it looked like the memory foam mattress had been folded and caused a crease in it. I spoke to reception and 3 members of staff appeared at my room, we agreed to swap the mattress but on return to my room later that day sadly this hadn’t happened which resulted in a uncomfortable nights sleep. I should mention that the rooms here are in fact beautifully presented, I particularly liked the wooden beams in the ceilings which gave a very traditional vibe.

Not breastfeeding friendly! We were here for a wedding and my wife wanted some privacy to breastfeed our 3 month old son. We asked the man at reception directions to our friends room. He proceeded to tell us that we couldn't use the room and was incredible rude to us. He told us we could use the toilet which we refused (would he eat his lunch in the toilet?!). He even asked us if we had formula made up, which is highly humiliating and belittling given my wife is exclusively breastfeeding. After some back and forth, he finally let us access, we believe he was trying to make face after realising the mistake he had made. This still didn't stop him from continuing to be rude to my wife. Breastfeeding with dignity is a human right and it is abhorrent that people still continue to behave in a way that is not respectful. We are talking about feeding an agitated and hungry baby, how can you be so cruel! Even with the recent press, discrimination at large.

Lovely venue. I have only attended business events here. The facilities are good. There is plenty of on site parking and the setting is lovely. The staff are welcoming and helpful.

Festive afternoon tea..was underwhelmed. Had to pick 4 sandwiches each. All came on one plate. Friend ordered beef - right next to the veg one. I don't eat beef very off putting. Got friends sandwiches wrong, twice. Not attentive. Never came to us, we had to try and get their attention. Cakes..it was eggnog?! What if you didn't drink alcohol??? But not the point, wasn't nice little cakes, just biscuits! Tried but won't go again for afternoon tea.

Go for the food if nothing else! Minimalist menu with some outstanding dishes, I highly recommend the red snapper. The only downside is the carpark. it's pitch black at night with no proper footpaths or lighting. It didn't feel safe or easily negotiable in heels. Staff were superb.

Enjoyed a festive lunch here. The service was excellent. A few more (not mushroom based) vegetarian options would be great, but in any case we all enjoyed our food and the surroundings.

One of the best set events. Cleo and her service team were great. Very good private settings and safe for kids as well

We booked afternoon tea as a treat for my aunties and grandmothers but it didnt live up to expectations. It felt like at every opportunity to cut corners they did. The sandwiches were pre made so had started to dry out. The disabled parking bays were blocked off so my disabled grandmother had to walk all the way round the building to get in. On top of this they added a £22 service charge but the service could o ly be considered average at best. We were made to feel like an inconvenience not valued customers
