Great place to visit to get a sense of the history of the Battle of Bosworth. Didn’t visit the paid for visitor centre so can’t comment on that. However it’s worth visiting just for the walk around the battlefield and to get a sense of the history and violence that took place. Some great information points around the walk that taught me some things about the battle I didn’t know. Definitely worth a visit for history fans.

Lovely visitors centre but unfortunately could not look in the museum as no dogs allowed. Parking was £2.50 for the whole day. Museum entrance was 8.50 pp. The surrounding countryside is beautiful but there is very little to see relating to the battle. The information points along the way were small and many not too easy to read. It looked as if there was once an audio facility but nothing there now. One display board seemed to indicate that this not the site of the battle at all but that it was some distance away at Dadlington? I would think the best experience would be to attend when the re enactment event is on (August I think). The tithe barn restaurant is very dramatic and very reasonably priced with friendly welcoming staff.

We had a fantastic day here today. Firstly at £8 for an adult you really can't go wrong, that ticket is also valid for the whole year to go as much as you like. Car park is £2.50 for the whole day or £60 for the year. The staff are wonderful and very helpful and knowledgeable. For a Tudor nerd like me it was fantastic. The disabled access is brilliant, they also have a couple of large scooters that you can borrow for free to go around the grounds, my powerchair did it ok but it could be hard work in a manual or less powerful chair as it's quite hilly on firm gravel. The tithe barn is lovely for a bite to eat, and not too expensive. Honestly I had a wonderful day.

Fantastic day out where can eat, shop for medieval themed gifts, walk round the excellent heritage centre, or just tour the Battlefield where England's last Plantagenet King fell in battle. If you have an interest in the War of the Roses or Richard III, you cannot afford to miss this day out. Highly recommended.

Excellent exhibition with interactive displays, artefacts and plenty to engage people of all ages. I enjoyed the map table which showed the battle's progress. We followed this with a cuppa in the Tithe Barn cafe, great service and value here. Finally took the 1.5 mile walk (good paths and easy going underfoot despite it being January) around the site, enjoying the stunning views and information posts along the way. When you pay for the centre and your ticket is valid for a year. Parking (2023) is £2.50 for the day. Highly recommended.

Very important part of our country's history and heritage. A well set out walk around the old Battlefield with interesting and informative stands along the route. The visitors centre tops it off with stories and artifacts from the battle. Pleasant and well informed staff made the visit complete. Highly recommended.

The guided trail which you can walk around is an interesting walk full of history. Well signed with numbered information boards to follow, it takes you from the Heritage Centre around paths with historical information boards along the way. Ambion Wood is a lovely peaceful wood with nice views to enjoy. Lovely area to go walking and enjoy the history of the site.

The famous Bosworth battlefield where King Richard iii lost his crown and life. Parking is chargeable , and the exhibition is £8.95 for yearly entry. There is a cafe and toilets on site. The real problem with this site is that the exact position of the battle is still somewhat disagreed . This gives problem when walking around the battlefield as there really is no clue where you are within the site. If you want a nice walk great but if you want to feel the history , it was a bit of a let down

This is a must for any history fan. So much information presented in a way that is very appealing. The kids did Knight School, which was a huge hit and I wish there had been an adults session so I could join in! The exhibition was wonderful and the information was put across in such an easy and fun way. Not just for kids, this appeals to all ages. The walk was brilliant too with checkpoints along the way giving information and lots of things to see. We stayed for 5 hours and only left because we all ran out of energy after getting up so early to get there. I highly recommend this for any history fan and as a family of Ricardians, this was a really humbling and magical day out. Also the lady in the exhibition front desk was so cool and we all really loved her!

Visited here for the first time today. It's a lovely place, and they had a Christmas market on, offering homemade goods. It was good to come here and learn about such an important part of Britains history. The site itself is very clean, with a cafe on site and free toilets. You have to pay to park however.

We've always been interested in our country's history but knew little about this period. We booked onto the guided walk and bought entry to the visitor centre. Money well spent! Highly informative, exceptional staff in both knowledge and friendliness and the whole site so well presented. Well worth a visit. We'll be returning.

Fantastic place with plenty of walks as well as othe attractions around the area. I would HIGHLY recommend an early start to get a full day out of it The heritage centre is fantastic value for money and the staff are very friendly and passionate about the history. As for the price of the car park !?! £2.50 for all day !!! This is probably the best price I've paid for all day parking for a long time. I won't post photos of the actual inside as pictures won't really do it justice IMHO.

It was AMAZING!! We attended the Re-enactment Weekend. (We therefore didn't spend a great deal of time doing permanent activities, as we were going to the event arenas for most of the time we were there!! But we were impressed enough by what we DID find time to see that we are planning a visit on a "normal day" to look around properly at the permanent activities.) It was fun and informative. The commentaries for the displays were informative and absolutely hilarious. The staff are knowledgeable and adaptive (able to explain/answer questions of a wide range of ages/abilities without being condescending (I've been to some other tourist attractions where staff stick to their spiel, with no adaptation for their audience at all!!). Not just 1 especially good member of staff, but EVERY member of staff I heard speak was adaptable.). Everyone was approachable, friendly and seemed genuinely happy to work there. A really lovely atmosphere. We cannot wait to go back to see all the "normal" (rather than special event) activities!! (If we hadn't already got seaside plans, it would be this weekend, tbh!!🤣)

As a local I think I have only been once to this fantastic site in years of living in this area! Such a great view at the top of the drive and lots of nice walks with your dog from the car park! There is a cafe for drinks and light snacks and a fantastic centre to catch up on your history! If you get the chance go on a guided tour booked at the centre it’s well worth it and very informative! £2.50 for car park but that lasts all day

A really interesting place to visit. The visitors centre and exhibition was incredibly informative with not only information about the battle but also about characters, contemporary life and with displays and interactive/multimedia presentations. I would definitely need more than one visit to take it all in! We also joined a guided walking group with the excellent guide, Harry. He made the session informative, interactive and fun. We had a range of ages from children to pensioners and Harry was able to engage and educate us all! There is a joint ticket available to visit here and the Richard III exhibition in Leicester for £13.00. Excellent value! The guided walk is an additional fee too but is really recommended. It is outdoor so be prepared. You can book in advance or turn up on the day but obviously booking guarantees a place. The staff in the centre are friendly, welcoming and really knowledgeable. What a gem! Thanks for a great day!

A very interesting site where a pivotal park of UK history took place. Information on the site is a little limited around the walks on offer but they are easily found once there. Parking is free, as is just being able to walk around the site and the historical walk. There's also interesting facts as you go around the 1.5 mile walk, and access to the train station. There's good facilities that are access to all without paying an entrance fee. If you want a guided walk or access to any special events then you will have to pay.

A lovely place to walk around. There are quite a few walks in the countryside also. The centre is kept clean. And not too busy in the week. Although it does attract more people at weekends and bank holidays especially when there is jousting shows etc.

Amazing place, nice, friendly people, all welcoming. Very realistic reenactment of historical events doesn't matter if you are not interested in history. Nice cafe, lots of nice food stalls, ice cream and a gift shop and exhibition centre. Parking is free, you won't be disappointed.

Great to find a place where they don't want money up front, you can view it at your own pace and not get ripped off for parking. English Heritage have a lot to learn.

You can spend an interesting few hours around the Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre. Archeological evidence of where the battle took place in 1485 is on display. You can walk around Ambion Hill and from this high point you can view the area where the tragic differences between the Houses of York and Lancaster were finalised. A very pleasant restaurant is close to the Heritage Centre. The restaurant's internal roof-support woodwork consists of massive oak beams in medieval style, which is worth looking at while you are enjoying your selection of the enjoyable choice of food and drink. But here's a tip, be careful when you walk by the stocks!

Really lovely day out, well worth a visit. The museum is £26 for a family of four and with unlimited return for a year, which I felt was great value. The exhibition inside was informative, all the interactive parts in working order and with characters telling stories about their lives as you go round. Kids really enjoyed the dress up section (how heavy is chain Mail?!) and the brass rubbing. It was clean, well laid out and great for all ages. Staff all very friendly, approachable and knowledgable.

What a wonderful place even just to take your dog or a walk around the fields. The cafe is a place to have an enjoyable drink after or even if your hungry the food is tasty. Their breakfast in the morning is delicious and good value. The entertainment when on is educational and sometimes a little funny so the family would have a wonderful time. Take a trip over you won't be disappointed

This is one of the best historical sites in Great Britain to visit giving a full detail of one of the key moments in British History. There is a full exhibition detailing the run up to the Battle itself and the other key battles involved along with the people involved. There are some very informative exhibitions on the weaponry used in the battle, the key people and the aftermath with the Tudor Dynasty and Reign. There is also an exhibition on locating the actual battle site and the work done to find out where the actual battle site was. There is a gentle walk around the Country Park with various information points detailing the Battle of Bosworth and the scenery of the Countryside us breathtaking. Overall a great place to visit for any History fan especially Medieval History.

Fantastic place for a picnic day out. You can walkt the well signed battle trail. Trail is easy to walk, even for smaller children. Additional attraction is nearby Shenton railway station. You can take a ride in vintage restored coaches pulled by the steam engine.

I loved the walk around the battlefield and is free. We paid £2 for parking but that is for a whole day. To visit the exhibition center you have to pay but the tickets last for a whole year so you can always go back.

Great place to visit. Very informative and the staff are friendly and full of information. Don't forget to ask about the Joint Entry Ticket for the Richard III centre in Leicester.

Parking and entry fees not to bad. Great visitors center , with lots to see as you walk around, and thigs to try on. The battlefield itself could do with more information, as others have said the best experience would be to attend when the re enactment event is on in August but the prices are higher and would be best to pre book. The tithe barn restaurant is fair priced.

Lovely setting with an informative trail. We didn't have time to visit the heritage centre but would like to return one day. Very interesting to learn about a key point in British history and the start of our monarchy with King Henry VII (Henry Tudor.)

A brilliant family morning out. The museum was fun and alot of interaction for children, and alot of history for the adults. The walk about the site was pleasant. Can reuse our tickets for the year which is handy.

Full of information and great for kids. A very nice cafe on site and excellent toilets. If you do not want to pay to visit the museum there is an excellent walk and picnic tables. It is also dog friendly. Your museum ticket lasts for a year so great to revisit.

We drop into here when we use the Shackerstone Steam Railway. Cafe is better value then the one on Sutton Cheney Wharf if you are walking and snacking. Interesting walks in the area that take on Canal and Countryside

  • 5/5 Erwin 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place, so peaceful and quiet, you can touch and interact with everything in the museum you can even try on the chainmail, helmets and armor, the staff are absolutely great, if you have some time go visit this place you won't regret it.

  • 5/5 Michael S. 1 year ago on Google
We went to the Heritage site by steam train,a train that runs from Shackerstone to Shenton. We walked from the station on a well worn path that leads you straight to the battlefield then up to the museum and the café.Plenty of interesting information, great little gifts and loads of books to look at when you get there. On your way back you take in a great circular walk taking in loads of wild life and great views over to Market Bosworth. Unfortunately there was no reenactment as promised, shame because it was ideal weather.

  • 5/5 Gregory S. 1 year ago on Google
A lovely place to spend an afternoon. We only paid for the walking tour and it was well worth it - Michael was brilliant and very engaging, bringing the ever-developing history of this battle to life. If you buy a ticket to the visitors centre, it lasts for a year.

  • 5/5 Lizzie N. 1 year ago on Google
We really enjoyed our visit, the Heritage centre was really educational and well thought out, really loved the fact that you could touch the weapons and armour to get a feel for them. We got chatting to one of your amazing team, David, who was an exceptionally good speaker and gave really detailed explanations and information regarding the battle, weapons and history. It was a great day out, and we would love to come back again!

  • 5/5 Whatsinaname w. 1 year ago on Google
Great experience albeit the actual battlefield is on Fenn Lanes. Unfortunately we had a rather active 3yr old some didn't get chance to take in some of the displays etc. Even more poignant now Richard has been discovered and is in tombed in the local cathedral In Leicester.
