A stunning place to visit. It's just under an 8 mile walk all the way around but thoroughly worth it. See if you can find the wooden sitting room!

Gorgeous scenery, we enjoyed a long walk on a lovely sunny day. We stopped at the Visitor's Centre and had coffee and cake, after all, it's compulsory when on holiday and it was delicious and very welcome.

Great place to spend an afternoon. The nature reserve was good with plenty to see. They are currently in the process of installing some new kids play equipment and activities next to the lake which look like they will be fun when finished. The main children's play area is fantastic and good for all ages. There is a cafe and a few shops next to the visitor centre, and the toilets are well maintained and clean.

Although the weather was poor, there are plenty of walks to do, short or long, you choose. At the minute, there is a Christmas trail for the kids to explore. The restaurant was busy, but that's a good sign as the food was great. Certainly worth a visit. Make sure you pay for parking on your way out either via the app online or at a machine as it's ANPR covered.

This place is fun for all ages. The interactive exhibition is amazing and informative. Information boards are interesting and well presented. Nice little shopping area with cafe and coffee shop. Main restaurant, ‘Mainsail’ is upstairs and has a wonderful menu very reasonably priced.

Wonderful walk 8 1/2 miles round the reservoir. Coffee and cake 👍 plenty of places to sit and rest and enjoy the wonderful views. Really enjoyed our time there.

This a perfect place to send a few hours or a day in the park district, especially you have little ones. The restaurant upstairs offers great view towards the reservoir and the home made food comes with very reasonable price tag. We had lunch before setting off the circular walk. The path along the reservoir is well maintained and full of wild blackberry.

A spontaneous stop off en-route we weren’t sure what to expect. The informative exhibit in the visitor centre was fun, however the walk around Carsington Water is the real attraction. We have a lovely summer afternoon stroll around stone island, taking in the bird hides, activities and scenic beauty. My one and only gripe is the payment for parking however as the visitor centre and walking the water footpaths is free, it’s an expected fee.

Great place to come and walk and bring the family. The car park vets busy but not busy round the reservoir. It has refreshments kiosks at the visitor centre and half way round.

Easy to park and good circular walk around the reservoir. We took a rowing boat out on the water and seeing the view from a totally different perspective. Paths busy with both walkers and cyclists. Interesting display about water. Nice restaurant with friendly staff and good food. Pay on exit from the car park made it easy too.

Large visitor centre. There is a cafe here over looking the water which looked nice. There are toilets. The soap dispenser was broken in the men's loo, which my husband reported - it looked like it has been broken for sometime, you would think after the pandemic this would be checked regularly. Lovely walking area and pretty views. Parking is fine and can be paid by cash or card.

Went for the October half marathon. Which was well organised by great staff. The place itself is a great attraction with a lovely lake and a tremendous 7.5 mile circular walk. Other waters sports available. There are coffee shops and restaurants and small retail outlets with toilet facilities. Car parking is available but a little steep in price.

Stopped here with my wife and our puppy while staying nearby. We were a bit bemused by the parking charge process when we arrived and had to seek help from other visitors. A camera takes a photo of your car when you arrive (big car park) and you key in your registration number when you leave, paying by cash or card. Easy when you know, and another two people who didn't asked me about it when I was paying! Not cheap to park though - our 4 hours was £6. The visitor centre is good and there is a cafe with takeaway service and outdoor seating because you can't take your dog inside the upstairs restaurant. There are lovely walks or cycle trails around the reservoir if you are up to it, most were too far for our puppy on a hot day though. There is a watersports rental facility close to the centre if you are feeling adventurous. We very much enjoyed our visit.

Lovely scenic views. Information about the area in the visitor centre, including information on how water is used (and shouldn't be) A place to eat or grab a snack and plenty of open space to bring your own picnic, plus a lovely park for children which include age ranges.

Fantastic walks, the interactive room is OK, I would imagine it would be better in a school trip. I found it very interesting, but the 2 older kids (13) & (15) were a bit underwhelmed. Great birdwatching and lots of wildlife. It's a really great place to wall round and explore.

Lovely lake, the full reservoir walk is mostly easy, a few hills but flat underfoot so suitable for all fitness levels. Good views and great visitor centre with good facilities. Cafe food isn’t great but adequate for a quick bite, plenty of areas for picnic so maybe bring your own. There are water points for dogs but they are fed from rainwater and there wasn’t any water when we went so maybe bring your own. Parking is not cheap but what you would expect.

A lovely open space. You can take your mountain bike, walk, or even use one of their mobility scooters for 2 hours. The paths are well-defined but steep in some places. You can choose from a range of circuits , the longest is 12 km, there's also 5km and a 2km one There's a cafe and a bird sanctuary shop. There's plenty of outdoor seating and a kiddies play park. It's dog freindly too.

Didn't spend too long here as we were booked for a meal locally, but it was lovely just sat on one of the many benches relaxing, watching the Sailing Club boats sail past. We'll be back for a walk around the dam and call in the visitors centre/cafe!

Absolutely love this place. Beautiful Derbyshire scenery. Completes the reservoir course was a gentle ride I would say it's perfect for beginners. To finish off treat yourself to some Kelly's ice-cream, it is a little pricey at £4.50 for two scoops. The visitor center is also really good to go and explore. The park has been recently updated and has a cool children's slide.

Really good visitor centre with a couple of small shops and a learning zone inside to see what happens to your water. Lovely walk around the lake on an even reasonably flat path (a few small hills) you are able to borrow/hire a mobility scooter if you have the need to and I think they also hire out bikes. It's around 8 miles all around the lake so a good walk, there are plenty of benches and a few stops with picnic benches dotted around the route.

Visitor center car park is Anpr and pay booths on leaving. £3 for 2 hours or £5 for all day. Very nice place, great walks, loads of wildlife, birds of area, bouncy castles at a cost of course and large park.

Good parking, albeit a bit pricey- £5 all day but a range of facilities, toilets, cafe etc and panoramic views over the Reservoir. A 12km Walk from here round the reservoir taking 2 - 3 hours mainly on the level but a number of climbs. Cycle route runs alongside the path.
